      @@joew.4073Dude, no... In one hour, a sedentary 150 lbs teenage male will only burn approximately 2,000 calories a day, which comes out to about 83 calories an hour. You can burn more than 83 calories in 15 minutes if you don't completely lack any athletic capabilites. A person who is female or older than a teenager will have a slower metabolic rate and will burn even less calories in an hour, which makes it even easier to burn that amount in 15 minutes.

    This is the same thing that happened to me. My trainer saw that I could LIFT on machines, but when it came to a 10lb KB I had so much back pain. Then he helped me stretch and his exact words were “and I thought my hips were tight.”
    He explained to me that my inability to hinge my hips and very long periods of sitting on machines as well as at work overtime tightened my hips since I don’t use them as often. His solution was to do a lot of hip stretching and hip engaged movements similar to your advice.
    You don’t realize how important a specific body part is until it’s in pain.

      @KO-fh4vn Před 3 měsíci +31

      Sounds like you are talking about tension headaches that result from tight trapezius muscles. It's not exactly your shoulders, but maybe you mean that your trapezius can tighten as a consequence of shoulder problems? Either way, I am concerned that your suggestion is too vague to properly address.

      What the hell are you talking about

    • @Direblade11
      @Direblade11 Před 3 měsíci

      So, tension headaches:
      (TL;DR get a massage from an accredited massage therapist)
      1. The kind of headaches I'm talking about are usually felt in the back near the occiput & front high on the forehead or behind the eyes.
      2. As I understand tension headaches, they are due to posterior & superiorly placed neck muscles (occiput->spine). The reason you get discomfort in the back of your neck, however, is because of chronic tightness in the front of your neck, helping you keep your chin tucked down. This position, over time, fatigues those previously-mentioned neck muscles which causes the pain. Tightness causes fatigue, fatigue causes pain.
      3. It can be fixed longterm with reducing sitting/side sleeping/looking down. Even better, exercise naturally helps, and exercises targeting your rhomboids can help most of your issue. Of course, see a good Massage Therapist for help. Physiotherapists can help too, but most individuals either don't need physiotherapy or will not stick with a specific plan that fixes the pain, from what I've seen.
      P.S. I have specific techniques I show in clinic to my patients, but they've got caveats or complexities enough that I can't effectively teach people through a comment.
