This is still valid to be angry about. They put out a great game, it likely did quite well in realistic terms, then they not only didn't push forward and capitalise on it, they shifted the devs to work on an awful game that was killed by bad decisions years ago.
I feel like if somebody has proven themselves, we are willing to cut them slack if they do something wrong. But if somebody is consistently a jerk, we’re a lot quicker to jump on them. If anything, your reaction yesterday just shows how many people feel about EA.
I felt the same way about what happened with Wild Hearts, which was published by EA through the EA Originals program, which basically means an Indie Game that got funding from EA with the agreement that it would be paid back. The failure of the game was entirely on the developers, and it getting killed off and never fixed was also on the developers, but the bandwagon jumped on EA and blamed them instead. The issue that arises is if you continue to put blame where it isn't warranted, then when it is warranted, it won't hold as much weight, and it makes it harder to avoid mistakes in the future.

Even if a Dead Space 2 remake was never in development, knowing how EA operates I will not be shocked if the franchise once again gets put on ice for a long while because if the Iron Man game does well and whatever the next Battlefield game ends up being does well, we all know EA will keep Motive on those games because those genres will always be more mass appealing than horror games and EA is all about making the most profit so this news imo still spells a bad future for the Dead Space franchise.
I don't really think that matters. Games nowadays have technology that puts previous generations to shame and the vast majority of them are still getting outdone by games from the PS2. The tech always comes secondary to the talent of the team that's using it.

But when you start putting everything these companies do nowadays and compare to what we have now that you realise how bad things have gotten. And the best way to know that is playing older games and then looking at what’s being produced. Don’t get me wrong we do get good games. But with every good game you get like 50 gut punches to another game. For every Helldivers 2, there’s a suicide squad, skull of bones etc. lifeless corporate shit. And EA is too busy trying to save battlefield, when battlefield hasn’t been decent since battlefield 4.
I'm disappointed. MOTIVE made a remake on par with Resident Evil 1 Remake. They seemed passionate about the project. I got the impression they were happy to remake the trilogy before moving to a possible DEAD SPACE 4.
I haven’t watched the video yet just the title but I think they working on an iron man game which could be decent if DS1 remake was good who knows we could get a DS2 remake after they launched their current work
I've only got a ps5 i own dead space 2 and 3 on Xbox I own remake on both consoles somehow after over a year of playing dead space remake I need to have a new dead space made of some sort to extend remake. With getting a ps5 pro later this year ill have to get a series s to play dead space 2 and 3.😮
I’m sorry but I gotta say I’m not really a fan of the remake that well. I felt like they missed a opportunity to make a new Dead Space game. Dead Space 4? That would of pulled numbers. The remake was bound to have a divided fan base, myself included. Even though I enjoyed the remake a lot, it’s amazing but not as good as the OG imo. Call me a boomer but the OG did something no other horror game had done. If had impact, it had a general feel of fear that was raw. It also had that gritty undertone that I’m too young to be playing this game. With the remake, given how impressive it is on a technical side of things, it’s story didn’t hit me all that well. Since I knew it’s a exact copy of the original with some tweaks here and there, the OG did things a bit better but I also feel the remake did things on its own originality which I really appreciated, but I was let down by its representation of the story. I found it very flat lined. They also did my favourite character, Dr Kyne wrong. No way was this new guy any better. The OG Dr Kyne acted like a crazy person. Like he escaped from a loonie bin, only to discover he’s a Dr that knows the true face of horror and so, it hits you more when he’s killed and makes you hate Daniels more. With this Dr Kyne and his silly hair cut, I just thought: “oh okay, you’re the good guy that seems to be taking things pretty well.” In a matter of fact, all the characters in the remake are flat and dull. Just talking with no real emotion. Like you can tell they are acting. So yeah, give me some hate all you want but I don’t particularly care for remakes. I would however just would want a new Dead Space game. I’m sorry but the remake isn’t all that, so I’m not bothered by this. The OG game has had a special place in my heart and yeah that’s how I feel really. Sorry 🤷♂️

There were a couple sections that I really didn't like. The game is pretty close to the original, many places being 1 to 1 copies, but then others are changed in bizarre ways that just didn't make sense to me. I also noticed the acting was quite poor and the story seemed less interesting. I think having isaac silent in the original worked better. Much of this is due to modern development teams having different visions and goals when making games. The industry is different now, and so are the gamers and their expectations I would like a dead space 4 but to be honest I don't see it happening and I don't know what they would do with it. I think the remakes could have laid out a better line up after 3 to set up a 4th, but now that isn't happening either

Me personally, in 2024, i would much rather have a new Dead Space over another remake of a game from the Xbox 360 era.
