    I did the same thing with the magnets (same brand)but I found ones with holes in the middle an only trimmed a bit off the top of the pin so they don't stick out an you are right they are strong ...an that's a sweet rig

      An I will be getting the tork beast the motor an trans are still stock in both my c10s what you recommend for the transmission....im still pretty new to this

    • @jamiealan
      @jamiealan  Před rokem +1

      Yeah, I love the magnets. Wish I found the ones with the holes in the middle though, seems MUCH easier to mount that way. BTW, I originally replied from the wrong account and then deleted it so if you see a notification - that is why.

      @@pinenut808 I'm still running the stock transmission but I haven't been driving it much so I'm not sure how well it will hold up. I did just purchase the Furitek mini stellar transmission with the mini komodo brushless motor and am building a new truck as we speak. Hopefully I'll have another video to put out soon so keep your eyes open ;)

    Impressive build 👍 looks tidy. I might have to do that chassis chop for some servo clearance (nice tip!). Also would love to know what glue you used on the magnets? I went with Velcro on my C10 but have some magnets waiting to be utilized. Keep up the great content👍

      I put a drop of gorilla glue on the plastic. I found this video which actually gave some pretty good tips on how to set them up:

    I've always said I would never trim the body on my C10. And then I came across your video and it looks amazing. How did you do it? Can you give me any tips on how you kept it so clean and uniform on all the wheel wells? I'm terrified of messing up it's not like you can just buy a new body if you do. So any advice would be helpful. Great job with the rest of the build also by the way.

    • @jamiealan
      @jamiealan  Před rokem +3

      Hey Chris. First of all, I was signed in as a different user when I first responded to you and just switched back to my main account so if you see a response from a Steve F that is why. Anyway, I was just very carful when trimming the body. Took a little off at a time and used very sharp scissors. The ones I use you can find on Amazon or in any fabric store, just type in 'Singer Detail Scissors' in the Amazon search and you'll see the ones I use. $7.99 I believe. But a lot of people swear by a pair of curved scissors so you might want to try those which would probably make the cutting a little easier. To smooth it out you can use a Dremel or what I did was simply use a small metal file that had a fine texture. The file takes off such a small amount at a time you really can't mess anything up. But yeah, I'm pretty OCD with these things lol so I just took my time and got it to the shape that I thought would look and function the best for the wheels I put on it. Hope this helps!

    • @cmkpikes
      @cmkpikes Před rokem

      @@jamiealan I know what you mean. Looking at your build I can tell that you have the same OCD attention to detail that I have as well. I have already returned to vehicles for slight imperfections and build quality from the manufacturer that drove me crazy but I'm sure no one else would have even noticed. This is why I have been terrified to cut the body. I know myself well enough that if the fenders aren't exact same shape all the way around I would go crazy. I was hoping maybe you had a trick you did to ensure they all came out identical. I'm thinking of making a template out of plastic or cardboard or something and tracing it on the body to ensure the same cut on all fenders. Just haven't came up with how I'm going to do it yet to ensure success. On a side note I also have little 1/28th scale mini z RC cars. I have been looking for a surface that would work for my race car and drift car and I noticed the surface you have on your workbench in the video I am interested in seeing if that would work. What is that you have on your workbench surface where you took the video? It almost looks like a carpet but without the fibers and I think it would work well for what I'm looking for.

    • @jamiealan
      @jamiealan  Před rokem

      @@cmkpikes I don't think you need to make a template. It really wasn't that difficult to trim. Literally just take off a tiny bit at a time and then start filing it. If you're that worried I would recommend getting a Dremel and slowly smooth out all the sections you want cut. You really can't mess up that way. As for the surface on my table, it's just a piece of felt. I grabbed a few yards from the local fabric store. Not sure that would work for drifting as it's a very 'grippy' fabric.

    did the new motor increase speed or torque? or both?

    • @jamiealan
      @jamiealan  Před 10 měsíci +1

      I wouldn't say that it increased the speed but yes, I do notice quite a bit more torque compared to many other motors that I've used.

    • @jamiealan
      @jamiealan  Před rokem

      I wouldn't say there is more lift on it. Could just appear that way because of the way I trimmed down the frame around the wheels.

      I swapped out the motor plate and then one notch on the plastic battery mount needs to be cut off. Pretty simple though.
