I have a question about achieving legato with modular and a keyboard with CV/gate out. I'm interested in a "gated slew" module.
All I need is the keyboard cv/gate out into gated slew to achieve legato?
You can achieve legato by feeding the keyboard CV out into a slew limiter, yes!
I confess I am not familiar with the gated slew kind of modules but it seems like they allow you to switch the slewing function on and off through a gate or a button, very cool.
I would say that they are useful if you need to turn your glide on and off, but to do that, it seems like you need a third gate signal besides your CV and gate.
@@FrapTools yes, I've just tested this out with seperate modules, essentially making a gated slew, and it does not result in legato. Legato with a keyboard is quite a tricky effect to achieve.
It's quite an interesting topic, if you want to discuss it further you can bring it up on our Discord server: discord.com/invite/TgAjm7aVWZ
Thought things had gone a little pious before I realised it was actually the cover of Advaitic songs by Om 😆
Haha yes Om's album and Byzantine religious art are a crazy overlap. (What an album, btw!)
@@FrapTools yeah! Sold the Live at Jerusalem LP a few years ago, that’s one I regret getting rid off…. I saw somewhere that they’re doing a few dates in Europe in May 😊
Certo che però….sto vestito, col maglioncino che nemmeno mio nonno….😜😜😜
the terminology is confusing, even wrong. a slew limiter is not an integrator. integrators are a central part in analog computing and behave very differently to slew limiters/lpf. unfortunately it became normal to call slew limiters integrators in the world of modular synths, but again, these are two very different concepts.
Thanks for the comment, would you like to add a few sources for people to check so that we can pin this comment as an errata corrige?
