  • The new 411: frap.tools/411
Our Bagài was the star of the show at the past Superbooth, but we also introduced another module, the 411 quad linear VCAs. It is as easy to describe as it is hard to demonstrate properly because it can work in many different scenarios. So here's a few of them!
    00:00 Introduction
    00:43 The 411 interface
01:56 Processing control voltages (-6dB switches)
    03:44 Processing audio signals
    04:44 Semi-normalled modulation inputs
    05:20 Amplitude modulation (AM)
05:52 A caveat on linear VCAs for audio signals
    06:39 Stereo VCA
07:19 Semi-normalled inputs: the multiple behavior
07:52 Process one signal with many CVs
09:21 Use the 411 as a mixer: the Sum output
10:52 The unpatched output: sum only what you want!
11:32 A sort of sequential switch
12:31 Another sort of sequential switch
    13:32 A quadruple crossfader

Will be added to my Frap Tools rack soon along with Bagài :) Great video as always, please keep them coming!

Thank you so much, hope they'll be worth the wait!

The goal for my Eurorack system is to be open ended with few modules that can only serve one purpose. For this reason I want all my VCA modules to have some functionality besides being VCA's, but I had a hard time finding very compact modules that fit this requirement. When I saw this module I instantly knew it was what I had been searching for.

Thank you so much! We love this approach: it highlights the difference between function and application! Hope it'll be up to the task!

i have a question: why at minute 12:52 the mixed output is used? shoudnt it work with the left output cause no output of the vcas are used? why it works with the right output, which i though only mixes the vcas who are patched at their own output?

ah ok got it: from the manual: ". If all the section outputs are un-
patched the two mix the outputs will sound the same" , i get it.

That's right! The left output becomes "different" only when the output of at least one section is patched somewhere
