InTheKitchenWithKate hello from Brisbane, Australia 🌏😬
InTheKitchenWithKate Btw thank you for trying Vegemite properly on hot, buttery toast 😍 it's the best haha
Hey!!
Haha no worries, i wanted to get the full experience!! It really is the best 😍
InTheKitchenWithKate thank you for eating Vegemite right👌🏼
Thumbs up if your Australia, I'll start
Shania Davi live in Australia
I live in a Australia
@@stellapatterson3044 I live in Australia tooo
im not australia, how can one be a country? cant even speak fucking english
@@italianrager5831 well Australians do abbreviate everything.
Whos Aussie and is cringing when they say shrimp on the barbie and try doing an Aussie accent 😂
hahaha sorry!!
G_kitten 56 🙋🏼🙋🏼
G_kitten 56 hahahaha we dont even call them shrimp 😂😂😂 its prawns
it wasn't even an australian accent. it was american.
Emily Pastras exactly
Thumbs up if you're an Aussie watching this!
You did the vegemite perfectly, Kate! Alex put too much on. (Also you need butter!!!)
Arnott's are our leading biscuit brand, and Allan's are our leading lollie brand. And Smith's are our leading "chips" (crisps for you) brand.
We have Freddos here absolutely! I love Freddos.
Probably Twistie's are a very popular choice for chips, but we also love salt and vinegar, chicken, Doritos etc. Crinkle cut mostly, but also thin cut.
Anzac bikkies are for dipping in tea, in my opinion. They were invented in the World War to send overseas to our soldiers. They're made of rolled oats, sugar and coconut mostly.
It's pronounced M-eye-lo, like Alex said. You didn't put enough in, you need spoonfuls of it.
I thought UK choc was the same as Aus choc - we both have Cadbury Milk Chocolate.
And we all hate Hershey's chocolate. Tastes like vomit. (No offense Americans, truly. We just have different tastes.)
A lot of Americans also don't like Hershey's... It's a cheap chocolate. :O I never liked it, even when I was a little kid.
@@amyt8780 Oh okay cool! Then we have something in common :P
And eucalyptus lollies are for when your “sick” but we all have faked it
lol this is all true
except the dipping in tea part
(no offence)
xD
I'm American and don't like Hershy chocolate l eat Dove the best ever
I still can’t get over the fact that they called an Anzac biscuit a hotel snack for all my fellow Aussie mates we know that they are a passionate food
Anzac war biscuits yes
The correct way in Australia to drink a cup of milo is to half fill the cup with milo, fill the rest with milk, stir it a little bit and get most of the milo up the top and eat the milo from the top. No one actually drinks Milo, we eat it - ask any Aussie!
Oh cool!! Thanks for letting me know :D
Steph Macmillan true lol 😂
Steph Macmillan couldn’t agree with you more m8 XD
NZer here - one spoon for cup, one spoon for mouth. Repeat about 5x lol
Steph Macmillan you don’t half full it god that’s too much, like 2 teaspoons is enough
This was so funny to watch as an Aussie but I did cringe when you were impersonating Australians with the "g'day mate put a shrimp on the barbie" because no one does that and we call them prawns 😂😂😂
Abbie Dicker Me too! Being an Aussie, people impersonating Aussie accents seems so rude!
Haybird 124 how so? I mean shouldn't we be flattered as Aussies that their trying to talk like us? I think it's awesome
Haybird 124 count yourself lucky you're not Scottish 😂 apparently we're all ginger, kilt wearing, haggis eating, irn bru drinking freaks 😂😂
Assassin Kitana I agree I love it when I hear people say g'day mate and exaggerate an accent thinking we actually talk like that
Katie Boni actually, we don't "call them prawns", prawns and shrimp are different crustaceans.
Those Eucalyptus lollies are for coughs and colds
The smell of eucalyptus is enough for me but my son eats them as lollies.
i call them cough lollies
I’m Australian and where I live they’re sold as lollies
At school in the 80s we used to pay 1c and get a few eucalyptus drops in a little white paper bag. I still eat them now as a treat. They were not exclusively for when you are sick but they do help.
I used to eat them whenever I didn't have a cough or cold, and then when I did I used that as an excuse to eat more lmao. I still like them
The reason why australian chocolate taste different is unlike uk chocolate , Australia chocolate has an extra ingredient that stops it from melting in transport/supermarkets.
Hershey’s chocolate, in fact all American chocolate is rubbish. Very different taste to Aussie and UK. When I first went to the US in the 8”’s I went to San Francisco and especially went to Ghirardelli to get chocolate. I was so disappointed by the taste. Hersheys as well. It’s not as sweet and creamy as Aussie Cadburys.
IM SO GLAD YOU'S LIKE VEGEMITE AND USE IT IN THE RIGHT WAY
Loved it!!! Definitely wanted to try it on toast and give it a chance! Hate it when people just eat spoonfuls!
Vegemite is made for toast not to be eaten from a spoon
Faye Flor-Butler I know right I was like finally about time
Faye Flor-Butler yeah
Vegemite is far better than Marmite.
In Australia we call "candy" lollies
no way!! We were wondering if you guys called it something else!
InTheKitchenWithKate Also chocolate bars or just all of it can be called confectionery
We call surgery chewy stuff lollies
Exalate *sugary
Exalate I hope your surgery isn't chewy..!
I’m an Aussie and my whole child hood is eating tiny teddies and pretending to be the emotion
Anzac biscuits are our war biscuits that soldiers get in wars from there families
Tim tams are basically our national food.
Our chocolate kolas are a kids treat they TASTE SO GOOD!
Vegemite is good nice to see you try it the right way
Milo is basically our summer fuel
Minties I usually have in a long car trip
Loved by a cavoodle I’m Australian and u are the first person who is correct about our Aussie foods no one ever gets it right I’m pleased to see someone who is actually right about our foods people always say our Anzac biscuits are so hard it’s because our war had to have it hard so it would last long
Loved by a cavoodle
You are so correct!
Minties in a long car trip made me so nostalgic!
OMG I'm glad I'm not the only one who had minties on long trips.
OMG this is the first time I’ve seen a non-Aussie try vegemite & like it! Proud of u 😂😂🥰
Its because the brits have Promite which is similar
I agree so proud
Because they ate it right
@@Tommyblueeyes we have marmite the original and vegemite but that doesn't sell well because of marmite
I'm Aussie and here are a few things to note:
1. Twisties probably aren't the 'go to' packet but always love having them!
2. Tiny Teddys are what you'd normally have as a treat in your school lunchbox.
3. ANZAC stands for 'Australian and New Zealand Army Corps' and is like our national biscuit.
4. Eucalyptus drops are good for when you are sick with a cold but some people just have them as a lollie.
5. Caramelo koalas & tim tams are my absolute fav!
6. Arnotts are a big company
7. Milo never really dissolves. How I have it is I put heaps of scoops at the bottom of my glass then pour milk over it and scoop little bits up with a teaspoon from the bottom. It's a complex task haha!
Loved the video by the way!!!!
The Life Of Brook completely summed up Aussie foods and lollies exactly! Love our countries food haha
Yeah! I got jealous watching them eat all of the food haha. It's only 5mins down the road at Coles but not in my fridge. I'd love to do food tasting videos from around the world.
The Life Of Brook you made me laugh because I eat Milo the same way but I've never admitted it before 😂😂😂
I'd be suprised if they didn't know what ANZAC stands for since Britain, Australia and new Zealand had a strong relationship during the world wars. Unless they've never learn about the world wars 😯
Bianca Yeah that's fair, too be honest some Aussies probably don't even know what it means depending on how much they paid attention in class and their surroundings :/ haha.
Finally someone actually knows how to use VEGEMITE!!! 🇦🇺🇦🇺
yaaaay!!
Yes finally hope someone is the states is watching this.
Well we have marmite in the U.K. which is very similar.
Msab305 n
Ikr
Tim Tam Slam,
You bite opposite corners off of the Tim Tam biscuit and stuck up your tea or coffee through the biscuit, making it all melty, then eat it! YUM!!
Danielle Keegan I do it in a hot milo.
The Anzac biscuits are for the war soldiers so it has no milk or anything like that.
I'm in the US and found a recipe to make these. They're super easy to make and really tasty.
I'm from Australia and i'm so glad someone from another country did it right with putting butter on your toast and not putting too much Vegemite on 👌
Is it just me or do any of you Australians like me just binge watch people trying Australian food?? 😂🇦🇺
I quite often do it with British food videos haha
InTheKitchenWithKate I wasn't expecting you to reply lol 😂 but I found it funny and kinda cringy when you said " hey sheila, go put a shrimp on the barbie!" Lol 😂 anyways I loved your video, keep it up mate 😂 🇦🇺 ❤️
I get super emotionally invested too. Like I really hope these strangers on the other side of the world love our food!
I am doing an all nighter watching people eat Aussie food 😂
So far I’ve been up for about 8 hours (From when I went to bed) and it’s 2:45 am right now.
Yesss
Aussie Cadbury adds something to stop the choc from melting in our warm weather. I noticed UK Cadbury is way more nicer in taste.
All Australian are triggered by there “accents” 😂
Bella :/ ikr it anoyyed me so much and we don’t say “shrimp” we say prawn
yep haha
Now you know how us brits feel
100%
Every time they said Arnott's I wanted to cry.
Violeta Michaud they say are nots
I'm from Australia and when i went to the UK last year your cadbury is definitely better! I the did some research and it's because they had to change the recipe and add some ingredients into the Aus cadbury to stop it from melting in the heat down here! Just a fun fact x
I think you guys are my favourite people who have tried Australian foods and I haven't screamed and had a complete freak out
“Shrimp on the barbie mate, hey shelia put a shrimp on the barbie”
Me: ItS A pRaWn BrO!!
everything in that box was an Australian staple. you will find most, if not everything in every Australian family's pantry
Yaay! 😀
except for mine cause my parents are health freaks
I haven't seen an Aussie with a pantry for years.
FINALLY!! Someone has eaten vergemite properly! I'm Australian and cringe at everybody that tries it because they jump to conclusions too quickly and say it's disgusting!! New subscriber here xx
I know!! I cringe too when people just try it off of a spoon!! It's not the right way haha. Yay thank you 😀
InTheKitchenWithKate anytime😁😁
Agreed !!!
Ella Meisel omg yes when they put it on super thick im like nooooo please stop
Welcome to the Australian translator
“Throw another shrimp on the barbie Sheila”
Translating translating translating translating
“Put another prawn on the barbecue mum”
😂😂😂
It's more like dad, for my family. He's the bbq master.
This is the only video of people trying Australian food that I like you actually ate everything the right way thank you and also you liked it so lol yea
OMG someone finally ate Vegemite the right way 🇦🇺
🎉 Yaay!!!
Probably cause they have marmite
WE DON'T PUT SHRIMP ON A BARBY. AND WE CALL THEM PRAWNS NOT SHRIMP. We call people shrimp if we think they're weak
Put some weak people on the barbie. I am Australian.
Xx Hedgehog xX thank you
shrimps and prawns are different btw...and never have I heard someone calling another person shrimp...also american
I live in Australia and finally someone who doesn’t live in Australia ate veggie mite right
Yay!! My country this is the first video I’ve watched were people are trying Australian food
OMG THANK YOU FOR RESPECTING VEGIEMITE
Paris Gauci if your gonna comment, spell vegemite right lmao. No respect from your comment
This is the first video of people trying Australian candy and snacks that actually like most stuff and for them to like Vegemite is like a success to us lol
hehe I really liked the Vegemite ☺️
pro tip for milo, put about a splash of hot water in with the milo first, stir it till most dissolves, then add your milk
Your narration over the dogs gifs HILARIOUS
this is the first 'trying Australian food' video i've watched where the people trying ACTUALLY like Vegemite (fellow Aussie here)
Australia food:
Twisties- kinda popular i guess but u can find them nearly in every food store
Tiny teddies- popular for packing in your lunchbox for school
Anzac biscuits- named after the Australian army from world war 1, we have a day called Anzac day which is when we like baking them.
Tim tams- really popular with millions of flavours people love them
Caramel koala- delicious not as popular i think idk what to say about them
Vegemite- a popular spread that u spread on toast or in a sandwhich, its very strong (gross by itself) but for me its delicious because im used to it
Milo- usually a breakfast drink that u mix with hot or cold milk I usually fill my cup half way until the milk is in lol
Aussie drops- idk what it is but eucalyptus is an Australian native plant
Fantails- its a toffee, hard, covered in chocolate treat (wrapped in yellow) but I LOVE FANTAILS DELICIOUS 😋
Mints- idk what to say but they are rlly good
F
ANZAC- Australian New Zealand Army Corps, they are named after both country's armies!
Aussie Drops - are for when you’re sick and it’s also a tree and Mints are like for like a fresh mouth kinda thing when you’re out and about
I agree that the Caramel Koala has gone out abit since they where first brought out but I love caramel so I always grab one for a treat when I’m at the store aha
I EAT VEGEMITE BY ITSELF AND IM AUSSIEEEEEEEE
Finally, I'm An Austalian Watching People Try Australian Lollies ~ We Call Them Lollies
We call candy lollies and we don’t say put a shrimp on the barbie we call shrimp prawn
Prawns and shrimp are different.. In America and the u.k. they have shrimps
We don't have shrimps in the UK either, we call them prawns just like Australia.
@@AdamTheMan1993 shrimps and prawns are different. In the UK the smaller ones are shrimp and bigger ones are prawns
@@chrisgee2616 Small prawns are still called prawns, trust me I live here in the UK and I see them in the supermarket.
@@AdamTheMan1993 I guess it differs, but prawns aren't little.. only shrimp are.
1-Well done for trying Vegemite CORRECTLY!
2-Arnotts is one of the biggest biscuit company's here. They do all sorts of stuff and are widely known as the best.
3-Eucalyptus lollies are generally for when your sick. they are awesome for a sore throat.
4-Allens is a MASSIVE Australian lollie company.
5- try the TimTams with Coffee. bite two opposing corners and suck the coffee through like a straw, then eat the TimTam. 😲So good!!!
note:I know all this coz I'm from Queensland Australia.
Samantha Kutzer a
Eucalyptus
Samantha Kutzer yay Queenslander
The J & C Girls- You've spelt Eucalyptus the exact same way I did, so I don't get why you bothered to comment.....
Samantha Kutzer sameee
I'm Australian, and I can say on behalf of all us Aussies you have to put butter under the Vegemite
I literally get kangaroos everyday in my backyard and it’s weird to see these people stunned to see a fluffy kangaroo
you guys are so sweet - Alex giving you the last bit. awww.
gigging watching foreigners try to desolve milo
hahaha 😂
Soo funny thinking they'll Actually do it 😂😂
milo goes on ice cream
cameron liddell no
Hey, I'm 14 n I live in Australia n I love watching people try our food from other countries! I love Vegemite it frustrates me when people try it by itself lol cause it taste gross by itself but nice with toast or a sandwich, and with the eucalyptus people have them when they are sick, but some people just eat them when they rnt lol, p.s use r good at speaking aussie
Hey Kasey! Awesome, yeah i love watching people try british candies. I know!! me too, of course its not going to taste nice! ah right i see, thank you for letting me know about the eucalyptus :) haha yay thank you
Kasey Edwards thanks for letting Is know what eucalyptus is for in Australia
i know i hate it. people don't under stand how to eat vegemite.sometimes people eat the eucalyptus drops in class to eat something and say they have a cold.(when they don't)arnotts biscets are very famous biscetts in Australia.
Same
I'm 14 and loveeeee Vegemite
Thank you soo much for trying vegimite the right way and yes u r supposed to put butter before the vegimite ❤️
They are British we have marmite so we know how to eat vegemite
“That downunder smell...” What does that smell like exactly?😂😂😂 Love you guys xx
YASSS someone actually put vegemite on good!!!!! (Yes I’m Australian)
omg yay
i have high hopes
(havent watched it yet)
im so happy to finally see some people actually try Vegemite the right way! Thank-you!
the eucalyptus coff lollies is mainly used here in aus as a coff lollie when sick but sometimes used as a lollie but mainly when your sick
I reckon this taste testing video was good because they tried things we actually eat often 😂😂
I live in Australia and Here are things I think you would like to know
1. Twisties at the big brand of chips but most people like them
2. Arnotts is the big biscuit brand
3. Cadbury is the most famous chocolate great just like England
4. Eucalyptus drops Are like cough drops except they sell them at our school canteen and most people get them as a treat
5. You usually get tiny teddies in your lunchbox for school
6. Tim Tams my favourite I don’t know anyone who doesn’t like them
7. Milo is very hard to use as you have to keep stiring and stiring and that usually never works so usually have to put it in and then add your milk
8. We also have fredo frogs here and they taste just like the ones in the UK ( also I know what all the English sweets taste like because I used to live in England)
9. You’re meant to put 3 teaspoons of Milo into a cup
G
Amen !
6 dessert spoons of milo and yes u put it in first but you don't stir it!!
This was so helpful
Favourite food reviewers ever, you actually respect our food.
The Eucalyptus drops are typically sold in the same isle as throat lozenges. Its predominately used for a sore throat as Eucalyptus helps with respiratory complaints and is a great remedy to fight bacteria and supports the body. Some people will take a eucalyptus drop daily as a simply lozenge and health aid.
Loved the editing in this one, and loving the taste test vids
Thank you! Glad you like it, we've got more coming soon so keep an eye out. 😀
no one says put a shrimp on the barbie here😂
haha sorry!
I no m8
The eucalyptus drops are both. People have them when they are sick. But we used to eat them as lollies in primary school too...yummy.
OMG I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT FANTALES AREN'T IN MOST OTHER COUNTRIES THEY ARE SO GOOD! Also, we do eat those eucalyptus whenever we want. I love being Australian!
i love these videos! as well as all of your videos! lol, so much fun to watch! hello from virginia, in america!
Hey you're from Virginia that's awesome 😀 glad you like the videos 😄
Tim tam slam with Milo 😍😍
Omg yesss tim tam slam with just milk is amazing too aye lol
:D
kisarulz I haven’t tried it but I bet it is amazing 😂
Tim Tam slam with coffee for that mocha hit!
The thing with Tim Tams is that you bite the top left corner and the bottom right corner off, and use them like a straw with a cup of tea or coffee.......that is heaven.....it also works with Penguins or any similar choc biscuit.
Do a video with similar candys from different places and deciding on which place they are from !!
I'm glad u got authentic food
I'm 14 and English, I moved to Australia when I was 8 and then moved back to England in 2013 and these were some of my fav snacks from there, I miss them so much, so it's interesting to see what you think about them. Also milo is pronounced my-low 😉 and eucalyptus is a big thing there. Ps ur makeup looked really nice ❤️❤️
Hey Aliya :) No way thats so cool! Did you love Australia? Ahh no way, yeah bet it was nice to see them again. ahhh thanks for clearing that up!! Totally got that wrong haha. Aw thank you very much
InTheKitchenWithKate loved the video!'🦄😘
So funny watching you try milo. Everyone has it very different, sometimes people mix it right in to make a chocolate milk but I usually put about 6 big spoon fulls on milo with a little bit of milk. So delicious!
Love Eucalyptus drops as they are used for coughs, colds, sore throats, everyday candy plus me and my mates used them breath mints too
British people are so funny
The eucalyptus drops are both lollies and medicine. But the ones you have are the lollies version. The medicine ones are different
You guys... you need a lot more milo in that glass. Try 3 spoons. I love you all. Just discovered your channel and can’t stop watching your videos.
Im from australia! I love twisties!
We do not talk like that, I have never actually heard someone say let's put a shrimp on the barbie.
its snag on the barbie and correct we sound nothing like that haha
Its cause we call them prawns not shrimp
JenzAr we can blame Paul Hogan for that
bloody oath we have prawns not shrimp
Fucking oath
You are the like the first people that actually liked vegimite
I'm not Australian you guys probably have a completely different opinion but I love watching people try accents it's entertaining to me
Tiny Teddies are more for little kids’ lunch box snacks. Tim Tams come in a variety of coatings including double milk chocolate as well as dark chocolate, etc.
Alex is right, it’s Milo as in Milo and Otis. We put lots of Milo into cold milk, then stir it thoroughly, the crunchy bits on the top can be eaten with a spoon! Yum!
It’s for a sore throat
When u gave TIM TAMS a 6/10 I no joke wanted to bash myself into a wall
Anzac biscuits stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) during World War I. The biscuits were sent by wives and families to soldiers as the ingredients do not spoil easily, so they could be eaten after the long transit overseas to the soldiers. Eucalyptus drops can be eaten here as a lolly (candy) but they are great for when you are sick and it clears the nasal passage and helps the throat
Just discovered your channel Kate, love watching you & Alex! Hella entertaining! Keep more videos coming! Hope you both can try all the candies & sweets in the world LOL :D
Melo 😂😂😂 it's milo
Melo is an nba player
hj r I
Haha
People think that Australians say shrimp on the barbie just like people think New Zealanders say Fush and Chups.
But kiwis do say fush and chups, that's a fact
Only paul hogan says that
Yeah but the fush and chups are more of an accent thing, whereas “putting a shrimp on the barbie” isnt
Make more of these!!!!
Just stumbled across your channel
I’m so happy as a Aussie, that you put butter with your toast and Vegemite❤️
When they do the milo all wrong 😫
Yikes
Great vide! Looking forward to watching your Japan candy tasting video! I love your Australian accents haha X
Thank you Eloise 😀 It's coming very soon! haha thanks we tried our best 😀
haha i love this video so much. btw we don't really sat "put some shrimp on the barbie" haha
Love the colour of the toaster I still have mine from 70's orange!
Smiths chips are the go to chips
I hate Twisties.
Yes! I am Australian and when I ate Hershey's for the first time I thought it tasted like vomit. Sorry if I offended anyone x
same lol it tastes like bile
this is actually the first ever video of people trying Aussie foods I approve of.
I think I have binge watched all your American vidros and I am onto others! I so want to round up the American snacks I love and get them to you!
He kinda did the Aussie accent well, she didn’t!!!
neither did
@@louulouulouu his was closer but she sounded new zealand
Anzac biscuits are what we used to send to soldiers in where in Gallipoli in world war 1
Lizabeth Rose no we didn’t... they weren’t made when world war 1 or 2 was on
During World War I the wives, mothers and girlfriends of the Australian soldiers were concerned for the nutritional value of food being supplied to the troops. So they were made in World War I and also used in Gallipoli.
I'm practically screaming THE GREATEST SHOWMAN ITS THE GREATEST SHOWMAN
I completely agree about Hershey’s!
I’m from Australia, and I’ve always said Herseys tastes like ‘warm sick’ 😂
So nice to find someone who agrees 🙌🏼
And twisties are my favourite! :)
I've never seen the eucalyptus drop things and I live in Melbourne, Australia.
Umm how couldn't you? mate they are at woolies in the confectionery section lol... did they not sell them at the canteen at school?
I live in Melbourne and I shop at Coles so they might now be there. Oh well! Which bit of Australia do you live in
Hi Peta. Hmm could be the reason quiet suprised coles doesn't have it. I live in Sydney parramatta.
Oh ok cool. It's been nice talking to you. I don't do this often
No stress mate. You to :) enjoy your sunday night :). Welcome to internet discussion with a random person in your country ^__^.
OMG finally somebody loves the vegimite i hate it when people use spoons for vegimite.
Eucalyptus drops well i call them cough lollies well eucalyptus drops you eat them when you have a cold or a cough.
Thats about all i want to tell you about the food you tried.
We have marmite what did you expect
Twistes are the best!!
I'm an Australian and I'm so happy to watch them actually try Vegemite properly with toast and butter.
