    A rebounder is like a mini-trampoline, but not just for kids. Bouncing up and down on a rebounder (what we call rebounding) is for adults and kids alike. Whether you use a bellicon rebounder (which I personally use and can recommend - www.bellicon.com/en/thethought... ) or any other rebounder - just start REBOUNDING today!
    And if you already have a rebounder workout as part of your practise, or are used to rebounding drills, then you already know some of the benefits of rebounding. Some people say that NASA used rebounding as the exercise of choice for their astronauts. Whether or not that is true about rebounding, I don't know. But I love my rebounder for so many reasons, and 10 of which I will tell you about here. So whether new to rebounding or a seasoned rebounder pro. Get on your rebounder and watch this video all about the 10 reasons why you must start rebounding.

    I have been rebounding for 2 years and I’m 75...I bought mine at Walmart’s for 37.00 because I can’t afford the prices for most.. I ask my I google to play Donna Summers music and I bounce to her songs for 15 minutes a day. I’m sure it has helped my balance,because when I started it I was weaving on the rebounder but now I am steady When doing this to music it really stimulates everything,,arm movements and circulation..I have always hated exercise but this has been fun,,like going dancing to me.. Nice video🌷🌷

      mary mulligan Mary , when I first started I put mine near my couch “just in case. Lolol” I still bounce ( not jump) to Donna Summors music,, it’s the best..I’ve been doing shorter sessions but doing it twice a day ( can irritate the knee joints at my age ( 76) ....I truly think this is a great exercise for seniors...I don’t go to the gym now because of COVID and probably never will again but I do walk also in the evening “when it cools off” ( Florida).......Keep Im touch on how your doing 😊

    I'm 74 and just bought one at Walmart (very inexpensive entry point for rebounding) It uses bungee straps instead of springs and is easy on the joints. I'm bouncing along with routines on CZcams already, learning as I go. I hope that more friends my age take this up to stay in shape. Very good video.

    Just started rebounding this year, at 37yo and 5 months pregnant with my first. It has helped me to keep me fit and positive, it has helped to keep my expanding belly healthy and all my moving muscles and pelvic floor nice and sturdy. The ease of use and no need for special clothing or weather makes it so easy to fit into my life. I love bouncing with my wireless headphones on which has helped me reconnect with my love of music and find new music to love as well. - it has enriched my life so much I feel evangelical about it! I don't ever want to to stop now :) :) (might have to slow down a little as I get near my due date!)

      @Thethoughtgym  Před 8 lety +6

      +David Smith Hey David - good to hear that you are already converted. I really really recommend the bellicon. It's the best one I've used. You will have to replace the chords every couple of years (I used mine daily for 15 minutes and replace every two years or as the break). To get longer out the chords, rotate them every few weeks. Also I advise getting a strength band more than you think. I.e. if you are 70kg, don't for for 90kg bands but 110kg or 150kg - not sure if they still use that system or not, but I always go for the strongest and I'm only 77kg or so. Best of luck! P.S. The link to bellicon is in the description box should you choose to buy one of those. :)

  • @Power-Ads
    @Power-Ads Před 3 lety +8

    Hey! I'm 58 and 215lbs (currently) and have only been rebounding for two weeks! I chose the 48" Leaps & Rebounds from a quality vs price standpoint and have no regrets. I would say I was in "fair" shape physically before starting. As I get older and especially after being less active during the COVID-19 pandemic, I found my energy level really dropped A LOT. So I decided to make a change like eating better, vitamins. drinking more water and running. However after a week of running, my knees really hurt and I felt like running was doing more harm than good considering I didn't have any previous joint issues, and I would like to keep it that way! This took me down the path to discovering Rebounding! After only two weeks of rebounding for about 20 min. a day, I'm happy to say NOTHING HURTS! and my energy level has increased tremendously as well as my cardio is much improved when doing anything strenuous (like running up a few flights of stairs) is much easier now!
    So I'm writing this to encourage others to start rebounding (You wont regret it).... If I can do it, .... so can you!

    Bought a rebounder jan 19 - still using it everyday - agree with all10 but biggest it’s the brain toxins gone after 15 mins - I do it first thing in a morning and before you know it I’ve done 40 mins - now with COVID I replace what I would have walked to a meeting with a rebound - I don’t feel guilty at all about that - I use it as prep time for the meeting whilst getting a little bounce in and it’s what I would have walked anyway but nearly all of my colleagues getting out of bed straight onto computer then sitting all day, thank god I had mine. I also do a twenty min walk imagining I’m walking to work (but it’s actually around the block back to my house) and then a 20 min walk home (same) I don’t want to be a different kind of victim to COVID - gaining weight, sluggish, unfit, resentful. Get a rebounder! Lost three stone too so really don’t want that creeping back on because of COVID - I need to be fit mentally and physically for any virus that comes my way and fit for my family too. I’m 54 and fitter today than I have ever been.

    I am looking forward to getting my rebounder delivered in two days. My daughter has been using one for years as a regular part of her fitness routine. I Finally took the hint and ordered one for myself. I knew if I didn't change something up, I would only continue in a downward health spiral. My back is fused in 3 places, my neck in 2. I am overweight and out of shape, (obviously), my usual response is that I am in no condition to get in shape.... I found your video to be very encouraging to my anticipated new approach to improving my health, and I thank you. Cheers!! P.S. I bought a BCON with the handrail to help with my balance issues. Really about all I can afford right now. It has springs rather than bungy cords. Still it's got to be better than to continue to put off meaningful exercise. Thanks again.

      Well done on taking action (so few do) and just start nice and slow and do what you can. I'm actually missing my rebounding right now as I had knee surgery a couple of weeks ago (repair an injury sustained while doing Capoeira) so waiting a little while before getting back on it, but should be in a couple of weeks. Will be good for the healing I reckon. Have fun with it, and sounds like your daughter is a good inspiration too.

    We got an Urban rebounder. It has springs, but it comes with resistance bands and 5 workout discs that I have yet to use. I do a 10 minute rebound workout AFTER I do high intensity weight training, the elliptical. I also do battle ropes twice a week and power yoga 3 times per week. I like to rebound at the end of my exercise routine to give my body that extra oomph and it works. My energy has been higher than before. I went from 240 to 170 BEFORE the rebounder and I am trying to see if the extra 10 minutes a day rebounding will help me lose some fat around the middle. What's left of it anyway. Great video!

    I was looking for ways to work out after my accident. (ruptured discs in back and neck) I hate running so much, and i dont mind walking, but its either 30 degrees or 110 degrees, so I kind of sheltered myself in my home. My complex has a gym, but the people who hang out there aren't friendly, and half the machines are always broken. So i asked my doctor if rebounding would be a good idea, and he yelled at me "yes!" so many times and "why didnt i think of that!?" so i bought a little one designed by golds gym. I was skeptical at first because i weigh the max limit as the trampoline holds, but i got on thurs/friday and jumped for 15 minutes each, one with shoes, one without. I really enjoy it, especially with a rock mix on my ipod i can create slow or fast jumps to match the music and i sweat like crazy. I do about 7 minutes take a break and get some water, walk around, then do another 8 minutes to finish it off. I'm trying to work up to 30 minutes, but my ankles just burn so bad i cant make it yet.
    is there a difference jumping with shoes or without? My ankles were on fire, and i didnt feel any soreness the next day, so i thought i was doing it wrong..
    I decided to work out M=F and have my weekends off, I started counting calories as well. After my accident i was at 295 (Bed ridden for a long time) Once i was able to get out and get moving, i would do walking, squats and use a resistance band. I got down to 250 and just gave up for a bit. (depression/anxiety issues) and i moved out of state, and thats when i got my re bounder. I dont know if its a mental thing, but after 2 days i feel great. i know it wasn't much time on there and i only burned about 177-200 calories per time, but with 11-1200 steps already on top of being on my feet at a very physical job, i was wiped out! I go to bed earlier, and i dont eat late anymore, and i can do it in my own apartment. It doesn't bounce the ground so it doesn't bug my neighbors, I'm just hoping I'll start seeing some results and maybe get a higher bounce.

    • @Thethoughtgym
      @Thethoughtgym  Před 7 lety +6

      Great stuff there and progress. I find jumping without shoes/socks best as you want to free your feet up as much as possible. Of course, in the beginning it might be easier on the joints of the ankle to have trainers on. See what you prefer. And depends on the material of the rebounder. Some spring ones are quite hard and shoes would be good. Keep with it though. You'll see results.

    I have a bellicon and a cellerciser. Got the bellicon first, but wanted the cellerciser also so I could travel with one. I was really disappointed in the difference between the two, they don't even compare. The bellicon (I got strong cords then had to upgrade to ultra strong for a more fitness bounce) is WAY easier on the body than the cellerciser. I do use that one outside but it's for sure not my favorite. I have also tried out a Jumpsport bungee rebounder, which is pretty comparable to bellicon but WAY less expensive. The only downside of that one is that it's a fair bit smaller than the bellicon. In the end, I'm glad I bit the bullet and bought a bellicon, and cellerciser so I can take it outside, but if I had to do it all over again, I'd get just a jumpsport, which is small enough to take outside (not sure about putting in a car though).

Back when I bought mine (2011) I think it was one of the few with bungees on. It's worth waiting and saving up and buying the best one you can. Glad you enjoy the bellicon!

    • @Thethoughtgym
      @Thethoughtgym  Před 7 lety +6

      Yes, I would. But I would recommend the bellicon because of it's buggy chords (and not springs - softer). Or other rebounder with bungy chords. Also I would recommend buying the rail that comes as additional for help with balance, and not to jump but just to motion up/down almost with no feet leaving the ground. This will be a good start. It's certainly an accessible exercise for almost anyone. But definitely if balance is an issue, then the rail will help. Or hold their hands (as I do with my two year old nieces - more when they were one, but now they are pretty good without help).

      I normally rebound first thing in the morning, to wake up the body. And also for a light workout. I've never noticed it affect performance negatively afterwards, but I guess the best thing would be to experiment. After a workout will help with dissipation on lactic acid and get the lymph moving by products away, and before would be good to warm up the muscles. Just experiment and see what works. :)

    I'd like to ask 2 questions. Is rebounding suitable for those with varicose veins? I've got them in my right leg, but would like to rebound to lose weight. And is a handle necessary? I'm not sure whether to buy a rebounder with a handle or not. I don't have an issue with my balance (I cycle and rollerblade), but don't have experience with rebounders. It seems to me that the ones with a handle feel safer, on the other hand I don't have much space at home. Thank you.

    • @Thethoughtgym
      @Thethoughtgym  Před 6 lety

      Re handle, not necessary unless you have balance issues or are perhaps older and more cautious. Start slow though while you get used to it. A few minutes and nothing too rapid. Re varicose veins. I don't really know but can't see that it's a problem. Perhaps would help. Just do some further research on that one.
