Only thing you really need is
    1. Brake pads and racing brake fluid
    Everything else is optional ,
Coilovers, seat, harness, headers, tune, comes latter once you can really exploit your stock setup.
My NC MX5 was tracked until 176K mi with original cooling system , ECU , no oil cooler in California 65F to 100F + outside temp. Just drive and learn 👍

I'd do an alignment just one step ahead of brake pads ;)

Agreed, I see not evidence of these cars being susceptible to overheating. I was out for 20 minutes straight today in 21 degree outside temp, coolant temps were rock solid all day. Not sure cooling is necessary.

Great stuff and a good list! I would add a short shifter, engine and dif bushes, chassis bars and hardtop when it comes to fully dedicated track cars. What I thought off to add to my car is a light for the oil pressure gauge to ensure I easy and rapidly see a low pressure signal :)

Some excellent suggestions! They would have been great additions to the 5+ track days list

For me what lacked: shorter final drive, wider 15 wheels with 225/45 or more extreem 245/45 track tires (i went for used slicks since even used its much better than a semislick). And if u think the tracks u go its worth it, go for the 6 speed gearbox with even shorter gearbox

A HANS device is absolutely necessary if you're going to run a race harness. 5 or 6 point harnesses only, never a 4 point.

I really appreciated this video. But hey I'll tell you man, I drive a fwd Tsx but I use thisbinfo to apply to my car. Only thing is that I saw a pic of the intake over the manifold. You lose soo much power like that. I know space may be limited but if you can build an insulated box around that and connect a tube to it. The car would be way more snappier and faster. I did it and it works excellent.

What about bracing? Strut braces, underbody chassis braces, etc. Any good?

Surprised you didn't mention coolant reroute, remarkably cheap way of keeping temps low and essentially returning the engine to stock cooling design.

Choose 1.6 or 1.8 and then buy on condition, then spec. Year doesn't matter

Ive seen 1.6 n/a miatas with the 6 speed, lsd,and shorter final drive, faster in track than turbo miatas. The gearbox spec is as important as the engine

  • @ghosttheoremproductions5469

The car should always be able to out drive you. In other words, you should never be pushing any part or portion of the car beyond what you and it can handle. If you are, you need to address that aspect before moving on.
