I bought the soundbar 1st and then I found your video LOL.
However I appreciate your review because now I'm completely sure that I made a good choice.
I'm kind a Hisense fan since I bought the mini led U8H and a stereo Soundbar, the sound was good but I was looking for something to improve the cinematic experience under the budget and I guess this is te best option available.
Haha nice. Yeah this is a really nice soundbar for the price. It definitely gives a cinematic experience.
Thank you based on your review I bought it today Walmart online listed price said $249 but when it was delivered and I received confirmation email I was only charged $124 it was adjusted for sale price 😮
It sounds amazing
Thank you again for the great video review we bought another one
That's awesome you got a great deal! I'm glad the review helped 😀
Got mine at WM for $129 and it's an AMAZING deal for what you get. Really like having the BT rear speakers vs. having to connect them to the subwoofer in the back of the room. 😀
I agree it's a fantastic deal!
At $130 this is a steal. Whoever decided to sell this for $130 on Black Friday drastically misunderstood how awesome this sound bar is. At $250, i refuse to believe another sound bar gives you more bang for your buck unless you go all the way up to the flagship models at $1k or more. I would even take this over the $300 Vizio M series 5.1. I compared this to the Vizio M Series elevate 5.1.2, on sale for $500. The Hisense bass was just as good if not slightly better. The Elevate was better in every other way. However, at $500, the Vizio M series elevate was not so much better to justify spending above $500 on the Vizio, when you could have had this sound bar for $130. Also, I had Christmas at my house and showed off the budget friendly Hisense sound bar. My entire family was in agreement, the $130 Hisense sound bar is an incredible deal. Even at $250 it’s still punching far above its weight class. If you need the finer nuances of audio that I’m sure more expensive sound bars can hit, then get a more expensive system. If you want to feel like you absolutely stole an extremely high value low cost sound bar that punches above its weight class and will surprise all your guest for $250 or less, give this sound bar a try. Return it if you’re not happy.
Yep I 100% agree. At $250 it's a great value. At $130 it was an insane deal. I wish I had bought more than one lol. I'm very happy with it though. Plenty of bass. Increased the rear speakers volume some to make it nice and even. And it's awesome.
Sadly mistaken I have 900 watts of a soundbar and 500 watts sub that'll punish that hi sense. I've owned & heard them all. Hi sense nowhere near!!. I'm talking bass to pressurize your chest and the room.
We're talking bang for your buck
Wow. Amazing sound. I could feel it through my Bose earbuds. Thank you for the video
Yeah it really is incredible, especially when you consider the price. I'm very happy with it!
Even at $249, this was the best price I could find. Many places were much more expensive. I pulled the trigger, and it's suppose to be delivered on Tuesday. l also order the FITCAMX Camera using your code and saved aground $21 dollars. Looks like Santa coming a little early this year and thanks for the recommendations.
Awesome enjoy them!
hello and congrats for the review nice video
I have read several comments that the rear speakers are either not very loud or that they make a strange noise they say that have static sound the rear speakers
did you notice something like this?
thanks in advance
Thank you! I did think they were a little quiet on the default setting. You can adjust their volume specifically using the remote though. I increased it a little bit (not as high as it would go, that's too much) and now it's a good blend. I haven't heard any static type of sound.
Nice, very nice. I project purchasing it soon
I just bought this from Walmart yesterday, they had the old Black-Friday price $129 still left up so the guy in the electronics section honored that price but immediately changed the price on the sign, so lucky 😮 goes perfect with my New 65" Hisense U8K
Your so lucky! That's awesome. Enjoy it!
@TechnicallyJeff Thanks, I was wondering though when I'm on Disney Plus mine doesn't show the Dolby Atmos on the sound bar, are you connected through eARC like me or passing another device in through the other HDMI?
@Averybryner in using eARC and it shows it. Not all shows/movies have Atmos though. Are you sure it's one that has it?
@TechnicallyJeff yeah I've tried it on multiple Marvel and Disney movies that Have IMAX ENHANCED and Atmos ECT. and even my 4K bluray player. maybe I just have some settings messed up or something, It still sounds good just hasn't showed the atmos on the screen yet
@Averybryner hmm yeah check the soundbar and TV audio settings
Yea it sounds pretty good. I wish the sub handled lower freq better but for the price, it was a steal! Bedroom theatre now lol
Yeah, it's not bad though. Overall it's a solid soundbar/sub combination and for the price, definitely a steal! Honestly even at $249 it's a good deal.
@@TechnicallyJeff I agree with you 100 percent. I’m sad now I didn’t get 2 of them at 130. I’m sure I could find somewhere to put the other one.
Yeah same here. I actually just replied to someone yesterday saying I might need to be 1 or 2 more lol.
I saw this in clearance at my Walmart and considered getting it. I don't think my TV has Dolby Atmos but I believe my streaming box does. I was hoping to keep everything (streaming box, blu-ray, etc) connected to my TV and just pass everything through arc (especially since it seems to only have one HDMI port). Should Dolby Atmos passthrough or does the TV need to be designed to do that?
Hmm honestly I'm not sure if the signal will pass through a TV that doesn't support Atmos. That said, even if Atmos doesn't end up working, it's a great soundbar for the price.
So you need to connect the bar, the subwoofer and the rear speaker separately to power outlet? Can you connect the rear speakers to the subwoofer and only use one outlet connection?
No the subwoofer has a dedicated power cable. You could plug them into the same outlet, but it would be a separate cable. The subwoofer doesn't have a power out connection point for the rear speakers. To be honest, this setup is a little better than other surround sound soundbar systems I've seen. Many have a controller for the rear speakers that gets plugged in, then wires run to each rear speaker. This doesn't need a separate controller.
My Walmart has them currently for $120, I picked one up as a try and see for a room with limited area. I’m blown away by it. If you’re having arc or 4k pass through issues make sure you’re using good hdmi 2.1 cables. This system sounds as good as any soundbar I’ve heard that was under $500. If you have a 2.1 or any soundbar that’s not atmos this is definitely going to be an upgrade imo. The only thing this is lacking from being top notch is a better sub. I’m thinking it may be possible to adapt a better sub to the sub controller with some wire and solder 😁
Yeah I agree with you. Though I will say turning up the bass and sub it does pretty well for me.
@@TechnicallyJeffHi I make the measurement of the liitle model : U3120G with the same subwoofer and it's go at 32hz at 75dB and go to under until 24Hz at 64dB in music mode. But their preset mode are all very good. The sound is very clear, detail and puchy ! more than Sony ht-G700, ht-x8500, Bose smart 600 I can test and measurement. Hisense surprised me with their sound ! A must have for the price.
That's awesome. Yeah I agree, for the price it's definitely a must have.
@@TechnicallyJeffi.postimg.cc/gj9Zrfsh/U3120-G-measure.jpg
nice!
I ordered that one for like 145 so I'm paying monthly when I saw the Dolby Atmos and everything I know that technology make sound amazing after listening this with earbuds I was like wow I was right, have good bass too.
Awesome yeah it's great
You should do a follow up, how is it at upmixing and is there any audio delay, quirks or anything
It's doing a great job detecting the source and I haven't had any issues. You can customize the sound which I may do a video showing.
@@TechnicallyJeff sometimes I’ve noticed in these cheaper sound bars it’s best to set tv to pcm/stereo and let the bar upmix, less delay, louder volume and because it’s not a real home theater it doesn’t effect the dynamics as much. Just curious how it performs all around
@onepurpose315 my tv is a hisense tv actually. I have the audio output set to auto and played with some of the settings, but honestly the soundbar sounds great. It also has eq presets I wish I had gone over which a great to fine tune the sound. But it provides a lot of sound that's actually pretty good quality. I'm very pleased.
hello there hope you having a good day. I wanted to ask do you get the dolby atmos sound also when you just use the bluetooth connected to your apple tv box or android streaming box or must you use the hdmi port for that extra sound?
Atmos is only over HDMI (at least that's my understanding).
@@TechnicallyJeff thank you for replying
Of course!
Hello great video and review congrats
I have read in comments at web about this product that the rear speakers either not loud enough or they make one sound most people say they hear a static sound
Did you have some same issue or someone else that have this soundbar?
Thanks in advance
Thank you! I did think the rear speakers were a little quiet on the default setting. You can adjust their volume specifically using the remote though. I increased it a little bit (not as high as it would go, that's too much) and now it's a good blend. I haven't heard any static type of sound.
@@TechnicallyJeff to listen dolby atmos from soundbar
My tv must have dolby atmos? I have one lg 75 but on audio specs they say for audio codec dolby digital and dts x
Yeah it needs to be able to output the content. DTS:X is still good though.
@@TechnicallyJeff ok so in my case I don’t need soundbar with atmos right?
Or it can do some down grade for fake atmos?
So if i put one movie from Netflix with dolby atmos the soundbar can’t play it right?
It will appear on led for example dts or dolby atmos but it not real? Im a little confused
Cause i was have one dennon avr with dolby atmos with same tv and i can hear dolby atmos
If your TV has DTX:X I'm pretty sure it will passthrough Atmos content as well over HDMI ARC (eARC if your TV has it). Both formats immerse you in sound all around you. That said, even without playing Atmos content, it sounds awesome. Just regular dolby surround sound sounds great.
The fact that you can get all that for $130 is mind blowing. I might just get this for our bedroom tv.
Yeah my thoughts exactly. I might need to buy another one or two lol
Don't. I got it on black Friday. It's OK at best. Get the Vizio 5.1. Unless you listen the hisense loud as fuck it's awful. The "atmos" is useless. The sub is the star there is zero mid. It's all treble or all bass.
Have you made any adjustments - speakers, EQ, bass, treble, etc? And what is your room setup? It depends on the input, but some can have volume very low and sound good (youtube under 10 is fine for normal listening). Even on others, anything louder than 30 is really loud haha. But overall sounds quality is decent all around.
If you break in the sub by playing high and low bass sweeps off of CZcams, it will handle much better from my experience
Yeah? I might have to do that to see if I notice a change.
How the rear speakers connect?
Hi how do you increase the volume for the two rear speakers, mine is very quiet
In the advanced settings. You can go through them and find the rear speaker volume there
Hello, good review but I have a question: does it support Imax Enhanced?
From what I found, the audio for IMAX Enhanced is handled by DTS:X which this does support.
@@TechnicallyJeff thanks
Happy to help!
What is the difference between this soundbar and the AX5125H? I have the Hisense Soundbar U5120GW+ 7.1.2 but I don't like the bass how it sounds.
From what I understand the 5125 has a slightly more powerful sub (and costs more)
I got everything hooked up I just don’t know how to connect it with my tv cuz it’s connect to my tv but no sound?
Hmm are you using a hdmi cable plugged into your TV hdmi arc port?
does it have ir pass through for the tv remote? i just got mine at Walmart on clearance for $75
That's an amazing price. It is able to be controlled by the TV remote. That's what I use.
Theres actually a newer model of this. I think im going to go with it. Ive been on the fence as the Vizio soundbars seem to get more recognition. Im going with the Hisense TV so itd be nice to match the soundbar with it.
Oh nice. This is a 2023 version so I didn't realize there was a newer version. It's really solid though. I have a hisense tv and it is nice having them talk to each other.
@TechnicallyJeff I was under the impression the Model: AX5125H was the updated version of this model. It's currently $350. So I'm not entirely sure..
Just looked it up. The only significant difference I could find is the AX5120G is a 420w unit vs 500w for the AX5125H
@TechnicallyJeff I went ahead and spent $50 more and got the 125H version. They were on sale for $300. I can't say where they land compared to the 120G, but damn, I love it.
@tylenavera7034 yeah that gives a little more bass I think but both are really good
I almost traded my m series vizio 5.1 system until i read enough on both to realize i would have been downgrading even though mine does not have upfiring speakers. My ceiling is vaulted toward in the direction of the couch so they wouldnt bounch properly anyway.
M series is nice. My ceiling is vaulted and the hisense definitely gives good sound above you though. Both are solid though.
@@TechnicallyJeff would you say that the Hisense produced more immersion than the Vizio? I also don't know if I'll be able to deal with not being able to customize the eq to get levels perfect. If it is noticeably better than the m series I may switch but than again the Hisense doesn't do Dolby Vizion Passthrough so in tossed up on it.
I have only heard the M series at other places, not in my house, so I can't compare. The Hisense is definitely very immersive though. It also does have a lot of EQ presets and you can control the bass and treble on top of the presets too. And control the levels of the speakers.
Honestly I can say that the immersion is about the same you can get from a theater.
Yeah it's really good
I got this hooked up to a Sony Bravia TV. How do I get more speaking dialogue volume out of the rear speakers? Most of the time when watching a movie, I have to turn the volume way up to hear talking. Then when it goes to action scenes like crashes, explosions, or cuts to a commercial, the volume is magnified. Any tips??? I never had this problem with my Vizio because there was a fade option.
Have you manually increased the rear speaker volume independently of the overall volume?
Movies with surround sound aren’t mixed to have dialogue playing out of the rear speakers - they’re supposed to stay in front with the rear speakers only being used for actual “surround effects” like explosions, music etc hence why it’s so loud.
Yeah there's a dedicated center speaker in the soundbar for dialogue. But you can get some more sound out of the rear by pushing them up.
Will the subwoofer make your house shake. I have the Vizio V series soundbar, but it doesn't have dolbly Atmos, so I am thinking about replacing it. Would this be a better option?
Yes if you turn it up. I don't have it maxed out and it hits good. And yeah it'd be great
@@TechnicallyJeff thanks
Glad to help
I nabbed this and I'm very impressed.
Awesome!
The HISENSE AX5125H has wireless rears which can be plugged in individually which is good.
As opposed to the two of them being connected.
So, if i understand that right: the rear 2 satellites have to be conected by a wire, but they get the signal via BT from the sound bar... As does the woofer... Wich means, no more long cables from the center unit to the back speakers and woofer???
How do I get the atmos mood only got Bluetooth mode and otc mood?
You have to change the input and use ARC
Hello. how are the rear 2 speakers connected to the main unit? Thx ;)
They are connected wirelessly via Bluetooth I believe
Thx! ;)
No problem!
Is it good? I have JBL soundbar, but i want 5.1.2 Won't I be dissapointed?
It honestly is really good
Got for my mom. Incredible for $130. Her TV doesn't have eArc unfortunately, so couldn't test the Atmos
Honestly even without Atmos it's pretty awesome. Though maybe you should get her a new TV soon too 😀
Has anyone had the sound from stereo/mono content replicate to the rears? I watch a lot of older movies and it gets really distracting, and I can’t find mention of the problem anywhere else.
You can turn the rears down some
Hi Jeff, how is the soundbar after these months? Still works? Any problem with it?
It works great. No issues at all. I'm VERY happy with it.
Thanks for your answer. I'm thinking of replace my Sony ht-s20r 5.1 soundbar, (it has great basses) with this Hisense. The ht-s20r just supports Dolby digital. Unfortunately here in México I'm gona have to pay about 350 Us dollars for it. Of course I'm selling My ht-s20r before. You think is a good idea?
Yeah Atmos and DTS:X are big improvements that really surround you in sound. The Hisense has great bass too. I'd do it.
Can you adjust the bass level?
Yes you can adjust the bass in the settings
Unfortunately it back up to $249. What are your thoughts. At this price?
Ahh I see that. Honestly at $249 it's still a great deal. You get a solid Dolby Atmos DTS:X system for that price. The $130 was just a steal.
The base seemed to me to sound a bit "dull", or "muddy" for a couple of moments. I mean, if you want to simulate a train or a jet engine closeby, it would be fine, but what about for more subtle moments? I wouldn't want the bass to call to much attention to itself in those cases, and I read that it doesn't have a separate volume control for the subwoofer. Can you please comment on that? It seems like an awesome deal, but I'm a little bit on the fence about this one.
It's hard to replicate the bass when recording, but it does sound good during big moments and more subtle moments. You DO have access to adjust the bass volume specifically using the remote. There is a bass specific control on there. There are also several EQ presets, including an "AI" one that does quite well.
@@TechnicallyJeff oh, that is good to hear. Thank you very much for your reply 🙂
I'm glad to help! 😀
The bass is incredible with the 8 inch sub I have this setup in my room and trust me when I say, it literally blew me away. Bass was incredible and if you turn it up you can hear things shaking. Also it gets really low frequencies.
Yeah I'm very pleased with the bass
Hi sir, are the speakers wired or wireless?
The rear speakers are wireless in that that aren't connected to the soundbar or sub, but one gets plugged into the wall and then connected to the other one with a wire.
Sadly this soundbar isn't available in my country. It looks awesome, and at a fraction of the cost of brands like Sony and Samsung.
Yeah that's unfortunate. What country?
@@TechnicallyJeff Chile
Ah bummer
I just bought this for my Samsung CU7000 75 inch tv. The tv has an EARC hdmi port for Dolby atmos. I had went on Disney to watch this exact movie (civil war) and my bar does not display “Dolby atmos”. I’m wondering if I have something wrong? My tv specifications says it does not support Dolby atmos but it does have earc port so I’m confused. I am connected through EARC port through both tv and soundbar 6:21
Ahh if the TV doesn't support it, I don't think it will work. It has to output in that format to the soundbar itself. With my Google TV, only apps and content that are in Atmos will have it output in Atmos.
Ok thanks. I had just called Samsung and they said the tv speakers doesn’t support Dolby atmos but it will still output to an external device with atmos such as this one. It sounds great but doesn’t display Dolby atmos and I’m wondering if I’m getting the best out of this
Hmm possibly might have a setting you can change on the TV.
@@TechnicallyJeff I’ve been reading online that if you’re tv has EARC hdmi port than it will pass through Dolby atmos. I’m making this setup super complicated as I just bought last night after watching your video. I just want the display to reassure me I’m getting Dolby atmos 😂. I’ll do some more research
Lol yeah I get it. When you are streaming from your TV, in the app before you start playing a movie it should say the kind of audio supported on the screen. Make sure to choose one that said Atmos.
Good video man but when it comes to audio tech i dont go cheap ever cause you really get what you pay for
Yeah usually I would agree, but honestly this absolutely performs on par with more expensive Atmos soundbar setups and certainly outperforms my previous Samsung 5.1 soundbar by leaps and bounds.
Hey why does my hisense 5.1.2 surround sound subwoofer pop when bass hits thanks
Hmm is everything connected tightly?
@@TechnicallyJeff everything is good now just moved it to tha other side of my couch away from my wifi box
Hello, do you know if it is available in Europe ? Can't seem to find it anywhere in France. I can only find the AX5100G which apparently doesn't have the upward facing speakers.
Honestly I'm not sure. I don't know the easiest way to search for products in Europe. I bought it at Walmart. Did you search Walmart in your country?
@@TechnicallyJeff thank you for replying so fast. There's actually no Walmart in France but by looking for it, I found a company that specializes in delivering items sold by Walmart to Europe. Will look into it
Oh that's good. Good luck!
@Overload77 hello, do you found this sounbar in Europe for nice price?
@@Niedzwiedz86 hey, no I couldn't find it. Tried to ask Hisense directly but didn't get any response.
Honestly the best design decision when Hisense built this sound bar is the fact that the blue standby lights actually turn off after a few blinks when the sound bar is turned off... That way they are not glowing bright blue in a dark bedroom at night.. (looking at you Onn) I had to unplug the onn sub every time i was done watching tv because of the ridiculously bright standby light on it..
Yeah that's a very smart feature. I think all of them should have the option to reduce the led brightness down to where they are off.
130 bucks??? miracles. in Russia such a soundbar costs 50,000 rubles, which is about 550 dollars, which is incredibly expensive. In Russia it is sold under the Toshiba brand.
Yeah it's a really good deal. Toshiba? We have Toshiba here in the USA too 🤔
I search to buy the surround kit of Hisense : RS-H8 to connect with the U3120G model, do you know where I can buy it on the web please, thanks !
I tried searching and can't find those rear speakers in stock anywhere unfortunately
@@TechnicallyJeffThanks for answer, perhaps we have to waiting a few months.
good luck!
Is there anyway you can stop it cutting off when nt in use?
Usually it turns on and off with the TV if you have HDMI-CEC enabled on the TV. Is that how you control it? If so, you might have a setting on the TV you can change to have it not power down.
Hold the centre button on remote and a menu option turns on on the soundbar display. Cycle through using the left/right arrows on handset and you will find auto off/on options. Hit the up arrow and it will now not turn off when not in use ie when paused or using headphones through Xbox controller etc. you can also turn off the annoying start up/shut down sounds. Other options are are also available but those are the ones I have turned off
There are more details in the handbook that explains the menu options.
Hope this helps.
Great info thanks for sharing
It is now on sale at Walmart for $99
I just checked and it shows $249 for me
@TechnicallyJeff I went back to my Walmart and it was on clearance for $99. So I bought one.
did you get more than one? lol
Wonder what Samsung soundbar you replaced was
HW-M450 I had for years with the surround speakers. It wasn't horrible, but this is a huge improvement.
Do remember that CZcams only outputs 5.1
Yeah? It's been a while since I've checked youtube formats. Most streaming does atmos though (disney plus, netflix, max, etc)
@@TechnicallyJeff so far my atmos soundbar never displayed the atmos logo when playing the demo's on youtube. But the streaming platforms indeed do.
Ahh gotcha
The sound is better than my Samsung. The f😂😂😂
😅😅
I will never spend a penny on anything hisense makes
Why's that?
@@TechnicallyJeff cause it's junk!!!
Idk they are pretty highly rated. For the price they are decent. I have a couple tvs and this soundbar and I'm very pleased with them.
@@TechnicallyJeff I do know have owned 2 tvs both died before 5 yrs only used for about 5 hours in the evening have a 75 right now screen just went black can shine a flashlight and see the screen either t bord or led strips gone within 5 yrs both tvs did this around the same time kept dust free and well cared for bells and whistles mean nothing if the JUNK don't last pure GARBAGE!!!
Ah gotcha. Yeah it's hit or miss with a lot of them. I use mine for several hours a day. One is used for about 10 hours a night every night and had it for several years with no issues. My vizios died though.
😂 😂 but It's still a Chinese's soundbar
Lol and that's probably why it's so inexpensive unfortunately. Doesn't change the fact it's a solid option though.
Show me an American made sound bar. Even if you show me one the price will be ridiculous. I remember when if a product said made in Japan people would say it’s junk only buy American. It’s bs.
Yeah I'd prefer one made in the USA, but really what would that be? Vizio, Samsund, Hisense, Yamaha, Sony, etc are all foreign.
I just sent my Hisense 55U8HQ to the service center because ARC stopped working, probably after a software update. So why buy their soundbar when:
A: they turn off the sound source for this soundbar themselves
B: it is unreliable equipment.
No more Hisense. this is not a great deal.
Their quality isn't bad. I've had better luck with them than Samsung and Vizio. Of course there may be random issues, but I wouldn't say them as a brand is bad quality.
@@TechnicallyJeff Maybe it also depends on the market. I have the VIDAA version, you probably have Android. They may be produced elsewhere. The technician did not console me - he said that in the event of a failure, they usually replace the entire unit. I'm waiting for the service technician's verdict.
Oh interesting. Yeah one of mine has Android (Google TV) and the other has Roku. Both are great. Great picture and actually decent audio for a TV.
@@TechnicallyJeff In fact, the sound from the TV speakers was quite good, although the subwoofer behind the VESA mount prevented me from hanging it on the wall - I would mute the speaker with the mount. They chose a strange place for the speaker.
Yeah I was pleasantly surprised by the audio quality from just the TV. I agree though, that placement isn't ideal.
can we use just theTV remote with this system?
Yep the TV remote can control the system
