    This song was composed and sung by Peter Allen ,a famous world-wide well-known singer, song-writer and entertainer. A famous musical, 'The Boy From Oz,' was written about his life and Hugh Jackman (Wolverine) played his role. The big rock is named Uluru and is in the centre of Australia. It is the remnant of an ancient mountain range. Most of it is underground and it is said to have huge crystal deposits. It is a tourist mecca. All the people in the ad. are well-known Australians. The children in red who are singing live in the area where Qantas first began. The main choir is The Australian Childrens' Choir.

    I live in Australia after migrating here in the mid 60s. I have traveled around the world in my lifetime. This song first grabbed the hearts of Australians when the Peter Allen version was broadcast by an Aussie television station at the conclusion of the Russian Olympics way back when. The vision of this broadcast showed the Aussie tv crew packing up to return home.
    What I can say is if you play the original version over the public address system in any international airport, the Australians in the crowd will be easy to spot. We will be the ones with tears streaming down our cheeks. It's our unofficial national anthem.

    You might have missed some of the famous Australians other than "Wolverine": Kylie Minogue, Ash Barty (tennis player), Adam Goodes (AFL player). Don't know who the young bloke is. The pictures of the old hangar at Longreach are significant. They refer to the origins of Qantas in the 1920s: it started as an aeroplane service in outback Queensland. The name is an acronym for Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Service. There is a museum there now.

    Kylie Minogue is the woman on the piano. She was in Neighbours, well known soap opera in Australia in the 1980s and from that became big in the UK and to some degree Europe as a singer/dancer. She had an affair with Michael Hutchence from INXS that was very well known in the day. Michael died under suspicious circumstances in 1997. INXS was regarded in its time as the best live rock band in the world, just in case you don't know them. You will find a lot on them on youtube. If you want to see the full concert live at Wembley Stadium London in 1991 when she was with him (I think at that time): czcams.com/video/SzInwBjEsPk/video.html

    • @LJW55
      @LJW55 Před měsícem

    • @dee-smart
      @dee-smart Před měsícem

      @@LJW55 I actually think he is one of the celebs about to make a come back. I don't think he is dead but the majority of the world thinks he is. Just like Michael Jackson, Prince, Marilyn Monroe, JFK Jr, Whitney and Bobby Houston, Princess Di and many others ... they faked their deaths so they could go on living. Hollywood was cabal territory and all were being puppeted by them. When disclosures come worldwide, people are going to be shocked at who is really dead and who is not. It's all part of the war and it is coming to an end. The planned assassination attempt on Trump is the start of the end of things. The EBS will be next and martial law worldwide as the whole world resets. The cabal lost, humanity won. It is funny how you seem so concerned that I brought up INXS and Michael Hutchence though. Most people wouldn't be phased by it.

    We love to travel inside our Country and overseas. We love the places overseas we go to but Australia always calls us home. No matter how great that trip was there is nothing like seeing home and landing to that song. Or having it play in the terminal after you land.
