    Great video. I've been running the UEL for a bit over a year now. Was tuned for 300whp on 91 before and they had to go a tad bit more aggressive with the tune to keep it at 300. It's definitely NOT a power mod. But, if you're like me and not going for sky high numbers, then it's well worth it for the sound.

    I agree with the tuner, EL is the way to go for low end torque and a smoother power band, I dunno what it is about the EJ but the UEL works with it. Probably because the turbos are different and an EL works better with what looks like a tiny turbo in my WRX compared to what is sitting in my GD8s engine bay. So if you want to stay stock with your WRX on the turbo stay with EL headers, because we are dealing with bolt on tunes here. Both engines are boxers but they are very different.

      That actually wasn't the whole point of the video. If that's what you got from this video, then you either can't comprehend english or you're just immature. The ACTUAL moral of this video aka whole fucking point of this video: "It's your money, it's your car, do whatever mods YOU want that suit YOUR needs" My WRX is a daily driver, I have an R32 GTR as my weekend fun car, so the whole point of my WRX was to get it to a fun reliable power level, seems like FBO with an E-Tune or Protune at around 300-350whp is the sweet spot for the FA20. Currently my car is on a Stage 2+ OTS with turbo back exhaust, and intake. Once I get TGR/EGR delete with a EBCS, and get a Protune or E-Tune for it... I'm done with mods on my WRX, MAYBE I'll get a FMIC.... Maybe.... But I could careless that my WRX makes less power than someone else. It's my daily... The whole point of my WRX build was to build a fun daily driver that I enjoy driving DAILY. That means everything from sound, feel, and looks. Performance comes last. Sound is by far the most important if you want a fun daily driver. But you're probably still young, and that's why you think performance is all that matters. Once you mature, and can afford to have a daily driver you can mod, you'll understand what I mean. Be safe kiddo

    I’ve got a stock(only catback) 2021 wrx. Is there any ots tune for these? I don’t have access to a tuner in my area. This is a daily driver so not interested in making a lot of power. Just the sound and looks.

      No, there are not OTS tunes for this. We'd recommend you get an etune through a reputable tuner.

    Called it, should've gone with an equal length header. If you're really wanting that subaru rumble, buy a STI, don't spend extra to make your FA run worse.

    • @SubiSpeed
      @SubiSpeed  Před 3 lety +2

      We wouldn't necessarily say it makes it run worse. In reality, it'll like still be better than the stock header as it's less restrictive. It just wouldn't be as efficient as an EL.

    For me, this is such a weird debate. We all know there is loss of performance but so badly want it not to be true. I'm not racing/tracking my car and want that Subie rumble. I want the Tomei headers. If you're racing and need performance then keep the equal length lol. Why can't both options just be accepted?? Just wave to your Subie brothers and move on.

      Choosing UEL is throwing away horsepower.

    • @SubiSpeed
      @SubiSpeed  Před 3 lety +5

      It's not even a loss of power. These will be less restrictive than the stock headers, but obviously less efficient than an EL design. There will always be people who complain. At the end of the day, do what makes you happy.

    • @SubiSpeed
      @SubiSpeed  Před 3 lety +2

      The main point is the Subaru rumble. You can also see that the car still did achieve 350whp which is certainly better than stock.

    I would never ever buy a subaru without the rumble, so I just wouldn't ever buy one with a FA.
    The older ones are way cheaper than the new ones (and all of them look way better anyways imo), so idk it sort of seems like a weird thing to do to an FA engine when it's really clear a person that does this wanted an EJ car to begin with. It's not like people are winning races with a WRX anymore, it's not 2006, so you might as well just get an 06 and be OK with it not being the fastest car on the block. There's better cars to buy for the price if you only care about performance.
