- This is the most-rare 1955-1959 Chevy or GMC Truck in existence. Bar None. This one was going to be scrapped in 19- days if Classic Truck Rescue hadn't saved it.....I'll be keeping this one.....Its my Unicorn....and my Blessing. P.S. Don't watch it past the closing credits unless you want to just hang out with Jamie and I talking about mystery boxes.

..a great save of an old iron icon, good vid, ...lookin' forward to the resto..
Incredible find. Great Job.
What a tough and brave looking pick-up 💖
Love it!
wow, what a beautiful find. and heck yeah on the georgia syrup! god bless!
What's that mean?
What a great find! I've never seen that model, cant wait to watch the restoration! Oregon rules, other states drool. lol!
Like that 73 Buick Riviera next to it Sweet 😎
Ha .. the syrup overruled the flight plan. That's a serious french toast addiction! You can hear it in his voice. Neat truck and a great find. Thanks for sharing
Don*t let this gem, get lost, it*s not everyday you get to see a rare pick up.
@Lyle Johnston those two are two gems, and as an avid car buff, love the rarity of them.
Lyle Johnson...you are a lucky man.
Love that truck..Congrats on the find. I so want a 58 or 59 GMC. I love the dual headlights and lots of chrome up front.
Thanks 👍
Man... people were picking those trucks up for less than $2,000.00, back in the 1980's. My best friend bought a 1965 C-10 for $500.00 (running), it needed a rod bearing and paint. It also needed some "Dash Components", which we were able to find at Jim Carter's; luckily we lived nearby (I still live within Walking Distance of Jim Carter's) ;) Yessir, that's a cool GMC! I love that front bumper/grille!
Beautiful find ,blessed again. When I was 15 I was Gonna buy same truck ,my brother in law talked me out of it cause I was only 15 years old . This was 1975 and that truck was beautiful also.that's how life is Please keep them videos comming may God continue to bless you and your family..
I know the feeling. When I was a teen (1980s) we went to a garage sale. The people there had a 1940s car, all complete and running. I was drooling over it and the lady came to me and said she wanted it out of her property and I could take it for $100. I had no cash and we were tight on money so my mom couldn't afford to buy it for me. I was crushed.
Thank you Sandra. God Bless you and your's as well. I'll take you along for the ride in this one. Keep watching.
Great old truck it has a unique looking tail light housing and that aggressive looking front I like it a beaut looking truck.
Beautiful Truck Glad U Saved This One ☝️
Congrats on owning one of the sexiest trucks ever made! I'm glad you rescued it and can't wait to see the rebuild . Please share lots of videos. I am the third owner of an all original red 1956 GMC suburban with a stock three on the tree and V8.
.
Congrats...I know you love it.
To answer your question at 8:48...yes. The first three years of the "Bricknose" F-Series had "4x2" and "4x4" badging below the driver's side headlight.
Thank you Keith. Did not know they were called "Bricknose" trucks, but makes complete sense.
Great work Rick keep saving them.
Nice score, keeper.
Everywhere y'all go y'all take that funky little dog... I need me one I'm guessing lol
I’m torn between shiny and new or patina. Lucky man... I would love that truck for life
Awesome truck, can't wait to see it fixed up
Me either. Thank you.
Nice truck Can't wait till we get that done.
*Great Looking Truck!!*
Thank you.
Amazing truck, it would be awesome to have one of those
Damn good job sir on the recovery of this truck
The Cameo was like the Nomad of the Chevy pickup trucks, except much more rare. I read in a hot rod magazine over 30 years ago that it was estimated there was only about 50 of these left in the country.
Beautiful truck! I like the riviera as well
Thanks to share.
You bet! Thank you for watching again. -Rick
Wow awesome truck!
It sure is!
She is a beauty thanks for sharing
Nice find! I doubt their are hardly any of them still around!
Probably less than 50 of the 300 made in 1955.
I own a 1958 Cameo Carrier, red and white, 283 3spd overdrive. I bought it from a friend who had it in dry heated storage for the past thirty years. I just love these trucks, very unique and beautiful trucks. Mine is all complete and a very presentable driver which it will remain. Good luck with this very rare example. Thanks for sharing.
With Just over 1400 made...I'd say you made the right choice in leaving your's original. They threw some chrome at those too. Gorgeous trucks. Thank you and Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick
A right nice rescue. Sweet truck. Good going.
I towed one of those for a client from north western Connecticut to Pawcatuck CT back in the early 90's. It was the first time I ever had heard of them or ever seem one, and is still my favorite tuck ever. Not sure if the one I towed was ever restored, but it was the same color as the one you just picked up.
That Grill reminds me of the Cab-Over GMC Trucks, that are "MY" Absolute favorite COE's!
Beautiful Save!👍
Mine too!
take out spark plugs, put 3 or 4 ounces of marvel mystery oil in each cylinder, leave overnight, then try to turn it over
Rick you have good videos keep them true cool I like them peace out
Great Find! Sweet Sweet Truck!
Thank you Brother....I still stare at it every morning over my first cup of Coffee and Thank God That It's here.....some people don't get it....Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick

Nice ride for sure
This is great, because that double cab one got lost to the crusher last year and this makes up for it. You the man as usual brother! Peace-out!
Thanks Lee....you are absolutely right...a bit of salve on the old wound....and rescued from the same town...Thanks For stopping by again my Friend. -Rick

Wow. What a gorgeous truck. You stumbled into a cool one there. The truck even has a great stance sitting there the way it is. It warms my heart that people are out there given these old trucks/cars love. God knows they need it. I wish you the best of luck finding some of those parts n peices your needing. Some of them must be mighty hard to come by. Welp, good luck my friend.
Nice truck keeper for sure, your doing great on the barn build your only one person. Just keep on truckn
Beautiful little truck and a great project and so rare! I own a 56 step GMC that has had a frame off restoration. 99 percent restoration wrap around rear window all documentation. Six banger three on the tree all restored and tight. Good luck on your restoration a great project. Cheers from Canada!👍
Sound's like you have a "Keeper". I love driving 3-on-the-tree Trucks too. Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick
@@ClassicTruckRescue Thanks for your response! I love my little truck it is sand beige in color that I think is kind of rare. The original owner traveled down to Oshawa Ontario where it was assembled and picked it up new and drove it back to Alberta have some papers to prove it. I even picked up some new repro beauty rings for the wheels and put on original style bias belted tires on it, they even shake until they warm up and round out, the good old days! Looking forward to watching your project progress. Cheers and have a great day!👍
OMG! What an awesome find! I’ve never been a huge fan of the cameos but I’m in love with that Jimmy. You’re killing me though. Please do a follow up video with a pressure washer and clean that awesome pickup.
Super cool truck. You guys are awesome, just started watching when you got the new big tow truck. Love the 50s pick up trucks, they're just awesome looking . I'll be watching for more

Also always see, no rust.. an in the pictures the rockers have been death wheeled off.. or the other famous posts are.. runs great.. easy fix.. really? If it's an easy fix, why hasn't it been fixed?
Keep those rear wheels they look cool .. some nice caps perfect
Oh...the rear wheels are staying. Thank you.
Love old school with a little bit of change
Rick, take and put that bourbon flavored syrip in ur coffee in the morning, and it might make fer a morning eye opener. nice GMC rescue, in its day that thing was a sharp truck.
7:36 That 57 Chevy stepside was gorgeous luv the story behind it but you cane for 8:04 which was the rare GMC pickup suburban.
That GMC is great! You and the Mrs. will enjoy that one a lot 👍
And Rick, you have the golden voice of a professional pitch man, the way you read the syrup company's bio. Second career idea? God bless 🇺🇲
Haha...here come the product reviews..
Love the truck
Don't let it slip away
Hi Rick I like that mystery 📦 with C. 4. Ha Ha. Love you guys. Thank you for the video
Top looking truck, its a wonder they don't put a engine bay light in them these days
Great find Rick and you got there just in the nick of time I'm bettin the other guy in the recovery truck was cussin like a trooper I reckon he'd probably set his sights on getting that .... hope he likes his Subaru LOL

I want a 50's truck because I was born in 56 these just have the best body lines you ever can ask for. She's going to look sweet going down the road you have a lucky find there sir.
That would make a beutiful restoration. I never seen one...
poor yunkin, we didn't even get to say goodbye. He served you well during his short life.
That squarebody looked clean for sitting outside.
Nice Truck!
Thank you James and thanks for stopping by again. -Rick
Why is this body style referred to as the "cameo body style" ? Seems like Ive heard that before.
There you , bring another one ; and its rare ! Peace my broher an God Bless you , and Ms. Amy ,/ Annabelle
*ID LIKE TO MAKE MOLDS OF THESE CAMEO BED SIDES BEFORE THEY'RE ALL GONE!*
If anybody can do it, you can.... maybe he will loan you these to you for the price of making him a few new pairs or sets?
@@MrRoach-yo3mz Thats hows its done in the fiberglass glass world, only he would be the only person to be able to sell them to the public, Id be the only one making them for him, plus I get to make a set for myself....yah never know, he may be interested?
I am interested in doing this, I just don't want to do it with the set that are on my truck. Jamie and I are going to pick up another complete bed in June. email me at rick@classictruckrescue.com when you have a chance. Thank you.
That would be awesome!
Congrats on your find! Mine its a 54 chev 3100 waiting for that jet to arrive. Thanks for sharing!
Your Jet has taken off...landing near you soon. Thank you Eric...send me a picture when you get it mounted on your truck. Thanks, -Rick
@@ClassicTruckRescue any tracking number?
Thanks
Thats a SEXY OLD GIRL.thanks for saving her.《☆》P.S. its cool that you have a supporting wife to help you along the way.
Was the sierra grande a short box. Those were pretty optioned out pickups
It was my understanding that all the GMC suburbans came V8, auto, big back window, deluxe trim and chrome gauge dash. I have always loved the 55-56 GMC.
No, they also came with 6-Cylinder, 3-speeds and four speeds.
It seriously baffles me that there's still people out there just crushing this stuff and they don't care. I'm really digging the Dodge motorhomes though. I've been getting kind of good at working on them and getting familiar with the old Chrysler motors. I already own two that I got for free, so I guess it's good that people still see old motorhomes as being worthless. I plan on getting more.
That's one rare bird.
Way to go!!!
Badass 😎 truck 👍
That"s a really nice truck, glad you plan to build it,just looking at the stance is inspiration enough!Cool wheels on the back.I know a Studebaker guy who I bought My 55 commander off of who told me.If you ever come upon a seized engine, pull the plugs, fill it with Marvel, let it sit for 2 or 3 days,BEFORE you try to turn the engine.Otherwise the rings can rust to the cylinders and you"ll snap the rings, instantly.I don"t know, but that makes sense to me.
get it running as the shop gopher.like the idea of that 288 ci lump.
Mmm Mmm That's 1 /55 GMC "BEAUTIFULNESS " Rig Glad Ya's got to save her ! Loved the Un-Boxings ! Happy Trails From The Frosty Maritimes In Canada Hugs & Scratches fer Lil T.I.G. ATB T God Bless
Thank You Terry.....ALWAYS good to hear from you Brother,,,,seriously. If it weren't for Friends like you with your positive, encouraging comments....this Chanel would have been shut down long ago...by me..
Liked and subbed!
Dad said if you turn the light under the hood , it mite have a reel in it so you can move it around, then put it back
10:59 I miss my Bolens 1050 lawn mower!
definitely a sweet truck way to go rick
Like a kid at Christmas
Jammies funny.
FYI... Tail lights are '66 Tempest and/or Le Mans... GTO's have louvres.Nice score on that Suburban...
Thanks again for the advice on the Tempest Tail Lights....pretty sure we've covered that in the comments section. Thanks Fer Watchin'. -Rick
In 1966 the GTO tail lights were very different from the LeMans lights.
Yes...thank you.
My dream truck is a 58 Cameo!
Dig that patina !
