I don't know if this will help Jeff but there are two options for getting around the lack of cell service. One is if your phone is capable of WiFi calling. That will allow you to call using your internet. The other option is also using the Internet but a bit differently. It is called Google voice and it will allow you to send and receive text messages. Have no idea if either of these have been tried but I mention it in case it is helpful.

That Dozer is an Allis Chalmers HD 5, it weighs about 15,000 lbs, the engine is a 2/71 Detroit diesel! It will be a major repair to replace the brake band, cab will have to come off remove the seat and take the top cover off of the rear end gear case and the steering clutch levers and clutch packs MIGHT have to be removed as well. that's if you decide to go the repair route! You will need some heavy tools to do the job. Wishing you the best of luck with the Old Allis HD 5 and with the House!

I feel for you Rick. I went through the "permit process" here in CA in 2002 🙄. Thanks for the new video showing more great progress!! Look for an I.D. plate or a stamped serial# on the Dozer's frame to help identify it. Good luck!

Looks like an Allis Chalmers (like Punkin!) Dozer. If you can find the serial number plate it might have the model number so you could find parts. 👍👍👍 Gotta be careful with Brake-Clean and welding if it's the chlorinated type. It will produce Phosgene gas when exposed to welding heat. I found out about this purely by accident (knowing what Phosgene gas smelled like helped me avoid a real bad situation). 😯😯😯
