  • That's right folks a Duff Doubleheader! A subscriber told us his local GM dealer had a 1970 K20 service rig on their lot that needed some TLC that they were looking to part with so we snagged it up because we both love 67-72 GM pickups! And we also knew of a 1977 Chevy Scottsdale that was a 1 owner pickup in the same vicinity that had been parked for 5 years. The 1970 3/4 ton and the 1977 1/2 ton have both been sold to subscribers!! Thanks for watching!

Hydraulic trailer brake unit are not as adjustable for power output as the newer models. The 2 units under the hood are variable resistors used to lower output voltage from the brake unit so the brakes on smaller trailers do not just lock up as soon as you step on the brakes. I have not seen one of those units in use since the 80's.

I'm a Mopar guy, but honestly, the best truck this family ever had was a 1983 C10 longbed with the 250 6, in custom deluxe trim. We got it from a local library that closed in 1997, with just 44k on it for $2k. Strangely optioned, it had the new for 83 wide ratio 700 R4, full gauges, am/fm dual speaker, p/s, manual brakes, (frt disc) 3/4 ton rear springs, factory light duty towing package with 5 pin harness and step bumper, and factory oversized towing mirrors. No carpet, standard bench seat. When we got it, it needed complete exhaust, full ign tune up, all the vac lines ( there were a LOT of them) and a carb rebuild. It had just got a new fuel tank and sender before we bought it.. To this day, it's the only Chevy of that vintage that I've ever seen the fuel gauge work and not bounce around. Body, paint and frame, super. No rust.. Floors? Gone. We replaced them. Found out the windshield was leaking behind the dash.. Just a great truck after all that was done. Damned thing started in subzero weather every time, 1 pump and turn key. Mom hated the thing, and after dad passed in 03, she sold it for... $700...I miss that old gal and would love to have another!

Hey Mortske , when I use too pull cars out of the fields . I use to go to swap meets and buy old Holley carbs . They were cheap and quick to rebuild. I never had luck with the factory carbs after sitting. I think you can get seat covers from original parts group for those old Chevy and Ford trucks.

Wow that was a walk in the park, or field from your neck of the woods, no fires, stuck brakes, mouse turds blowing out the exhaust, ignition issues, that was like watching Mortske on vacation videos, and no sammichs hurt during production.

That movie you were saying "ol' yeller" and when u pulled that short clip up that looked like an old cassette movie I loved when I was younger I think it was called "Journey" or something like that it's about 2 dogs and a cat or something. Man it's been along time but that's what that reminded me of

You know you're onto a winner when you can piss Greta off TWICE in one video. Them Chevs revive so easy that there was time enough to put two of them back on the road in the same time that it takes to make a video of one Ford.....er.....not going. Great vid as always, my friend. Happy to watch ANY old iron taking the first steps back to where they belong. So, when's the next flathead gonna appear? Still wanna see / hear you get one moving.
