- I went alone for two days in bear country to test out emergency sleeping bag from Aliexpress. I also had Survival Kit from Realsteel which is pretty cool actually and work pretty good to get the job done. Looking forward to test it out in harsh conditions, snow and cold camping. Stay tunned!

These bags are a higher tec equivalent to the orange plastic survival bag. Really best used above freezing to keep you dry if you are forced to spend the night in nature.
Also: You really, really need to get yourself off the ground. That wil make a drastic difference to your comfort levels.

I believe the finished dimension of the heat reflective bivy you turned into a tarp is 7 feet x 10 feet. Unfortunately it is insufficient for making a grounded perimeter tent, far better than a tarp for warmth. You could have saved yourself the trouble of using the saw by placing the tree limb against the log and broken the limb with your foot and then trimmed an end.

Those reflective sheet products can be REALLY garbage, all the way to surprisingly good. It looks like you found a decent one. Putting a wool blanket or sleeping bag inside will let it breathe a bit more so you don't sweat quite as much, and still works just as well, plus acts like a bivy to keep bedding dry. If you have two, turn one into a poncho, then slide into the sleeping bag if the weather is really crappy and cold. There are so many ways to use them, it is just up to your imagination.
