- Red Velvet Cake Pops Recipe | Chocolate Bonbon Filling đ©đŒâđłâš Today I wanted to make a chocolate bonbon filling that was red and easy to make, and I figured a classic red velvet cake pop truffle filling would do the trick. Cake pops are something that everybody seems to love all the time and they are also super easy. To make things simple, I use a red velvet cake mix for the cake, but I make a homemade cream cheese frosting to go with it. If you want to extend the shelf life of this bonbon you could use canned frosting (preservatives đ). You can also switch out the cake flavor and frosting flavor to be whatever is your favorite!

Def going to add this to my list of recipes. How long do you think the shelf life is with homemade cream cheese frosting vs canned? Buying canned makes me feel yucky but if it will last longer it may make sense.
Haha I know right? The canned stuff creeps me out nowâŠAs for the homemade frosting, I would feel safe saying a week, maybe more, but unless itâs official tested I cannot speak on exact times unfortunately. âșïž

You can! But I canât say exactly for how long. My recommendation if you want to bake the cake in advance is to just freeze the cake crumbs and whip up the frosting fresh the day you want to use the filling!
