This is a great inspirational video clip! We managed to assemble the ingredients for a greater family dinner, found a little asian food shop finally that provided the crucial ingredients which is the korean chili paste (gochujang?) and the korean soy bean paste (doenjang?). And sesame oil of course but that is not so hard to find.
The salads were truly stunning, both the radish based and the salad onion. Fantastic! And the dip with the sesame oli garlic salt & pepper. Also added other korean sauces. Marinated the meat Bulgori-style.
Even the grill equipment was chosen quite similar, gas-driven and an ingenius grill plate which I think is key, draining and eliminating fat from producing smoke. Great to have it on the dinner table and everyone gets involved instead of the usual format that you have a grill master residing beside with a monster grill, detached from where all the fun happens!
The dinner was truly spectacular, the different salad leaves were perfect as wrappers. We even managed to trip our smoke alarms just as in the video... haha!
What an exquisite explosion in great new taste experiences, thank you so much for this fine introduction to a totally new cuisine for us!
How fun! I did the same thing after watching this. We have a table that seats six and people in the family heard I was doing a full on Korean bbq. We were crammed at the table. More ppl Kept coming over ..two ppl sharing one chair and plate and sauces.. Cuz my table was packed. Ppl getting up and giving a new person their chair. It was awesome.

Been watching a couple of your vids, and I think its really cool that you have your grandparents around a lot. Really nice to see the unity of Family in this day and age. My grandparents died when i was really young, so I never got to share that bond with them. But I hope one day if I have kids, that my parents will be around for them :D

Thanks for the recipe. I had to make half of it vegan for my family, but it still turned out well. I cooked mine on my Rustic Woodworx grill, so that always helps. Also, I used seasoned chickpeas and sauteed mushrooms to substitute the meat for the vegans in my family. Lettuce wraps are the best. Thanks for the ideas.

I love when making of the salads, most of the measurements that were added was just straight up eyed. That's how I cook. I just eye everything.

i have only had Korean bbq a couple of times. Seems to be more fun to make it at home...I think I ll buy one of those little gas stoves and grills at the Korean market next time I go.

Nothing is better than Korean BBQ in Korea though. I would jump on an airplane to Seoul for the BBQ we had there. THE BEST EVER!!!
I haven't salivated this much whilst watching something online in a long time. The salads looked the best, of course the meat looked amazing too, but the salads were very tasty looking. And how can Grandpa taste it if he hasn't even swallowed it yet!?! Haha, great video. I'll be using some of these recipes soon. The biggest caveat I have is we have to small children and they don't handle spicy stuff too well yet. I'm hoping to do a couple Korean BBQ's out on our patio this summer and I can't wait!

i usually just make my homemade kimchi, samjang, sesame oil+kikoman+siracha sauce combo. If im feeling fancy, i'll melt some cheese. But now i will try that garlic and sesame oil with salt.
