Thanks for the video ! 🌹 😊👍
For anyone wanting to know if this works - two of us built a small patio 2 years ago in the garden using this method, we did it in an afternoon (no experience in paving whatsoever) in the U.K. and two years later it’s perfectly fine! We’re so pleased with it and the rustic look we are building another one this year
Thank you Rachel! I'd love to see a photo of your work. Thanks so much for sharing your experience with us.

Thank you for showing a simple way to create a brick path - simple solutions from simple people
this video showed me more than other videos that are like 30 minutes long. omg. i am definitely going to do this easier way
Thanks!! Enjoy my other videos too please.
I did a circular patio and added a water fountain. It turned out great and I have Ashley to thank! Ashley, you took away the fear factor! Thank you 😊
THIS MAKES ME SO HAPPY! I'd love to see photos if you get the time to post them on imgur.com or something like that. Pinterest, Google Drive. Thanks!!
BecomeInspired Hello, Ashley! I posted two photos on the site you recommended. I’m not computer savvy so I hope I did it correctly. Blessings to you, dear lady!

My husband has procrastinated for the past 8 years to lay bricks for our fire pit. This video is perfect in encouraging me to do it myself. Can't wait to pickup my supplies.

Check out my updated video where I show everyone how it's held up in the past 6 years. In fact, we're going on 9 years and it looks wonderful!

Oh my goodness. This is AMAZING and looks so much easier than what I had been imagining! I have laid so many pathways, over and over, using sand - just to have weeds poking through the next year. This is perfect and I'm going to try it!
Thank you for posting this!
You’re so welcome Christine!
I did the same and weeds kept growing in between the bricks. Now looking how the cement was applied, I am going to redo my driveway with this simple and cost less method 👍
I have look all over CZcams and this video on making a brick walkway is the best and easiest. Thanks for posting.

Hello
Hi!
I've been looking around for easy methods and this beats the lot so far. It's a slightly rough finish but I like that, seems more rustic and natural. Great video and thanks for sharing the idea!
+alias foxfire My pleasure!
Omg Thank u. My daughter just bought a house and cannot afford to hire someone to make a much needed patio out back so I’ve been searching the internet looking for something that we can do ourselves. THIS IS IT! Thank u so much.
You are so welcome! Enjoy the new house! 😊

This looks so... easy! I like that you poured the cement powder first in all the spaces between the bricks , then added water to harden! Great job!!
melinda bishop Thanks Melinda!
I’ve watched so many videos about wooden decking, and seemed so much work. I’ve just got given a load of bricks for free and seen so many complicated variations of laying. I want a rough and ready look and I’m going to do this. Definitely. Hardest but will be levelling the ground as it’s a large area. Thank you 🙏🏼
Thanks so much and I’m very happy you loved this!
Glad I found this, didn't have to watch a 20+ minute video to learn a backyard project!
This makes me so happy to hear! This is a quick and fun project!
Thank you so much for this!!! Just bought the materials today and I will be trying this method. We live in the desert where it almost never rains so I think it should be fine without having to lay the bricks on a gravel and sand base.
+ChrisN Let me know how it turns out :)
Just used your method to pave my driveway and build a path to my garden! Easy, simple, effective. Thanks so much for sharing your wisdom!
You're so welcome Catherine! Enjoy the driveway and the garden path, it'll be wonderful!
@Knight_rider Ha! Of course not :) And no need to pay a contractor thousands of dollars, either.

This video is so helpful. I was overwhelmed with doing this job myself, but now, I can't wait to start. Thank you so much! You go girl!
kathleen ahern No problem, it's easier than it looks!
Don't do it like this, you need a base layer of MOD stone and then sand on top
@@bye92 why?
@@beckiel3211 because of the expansion and contraction.

Simple and effective! Going to do my backyard next weekend. The beauty is the bricks don't have to be perfectly align as the imperfections add character to the floor, especially in an outdoor patio.

Great video. I used this method about 22 years ago. I read about this method in a masonry book, pre-CZcams. The brick walkway held up well for 10-15 years, then it developed cracks and weeds started growing through the cracks. I am now researching methods to repoint the brick walkway. Here is what I have found and what I have decided to do. Seems like the most popular method, outside of just using sand, is to use polymeric sand. However several professional landscapers have CZcams videos warning that the polymeric sand only last 3-5 years and will need to be redone, that is not acceptable to me. Several of the landscapers have gone to epoxy resin based grouts, such as Easy Joint or Romex Rompox Easy. There are lots of positive reviews for these epoxy resin products, very easy to apply and sets up hard. The problem is cost, to re-grout my small 115 sf brick walkway will cost over 1200 USD, just in product. Additionally the epoxy resin products can be difficult to obtain. The 3rd way to repoint is to mix cement and sand and manually put the wet mixture into the joint. While inexpensive, this is a lot more effort than I was hoping for, plus it requires more skill than other methods. Then I ran across this video, only I have found which demonstrates the method I used 22 years ago. I think one of the important steps is to keep applying the water until it is no longer absorbed by the dry cement. I don't recall doing that 22 years ago. While cleaning out the old joints I found some of the cement did not get wet to form a hard concrete. Maybe if I can get all the dry cement wet it will last longer than 10-15 years. The one thing I did differently from this video is I poured 6 inch concrete slab under the bricks, as a result the bricks have been very stable. I would think this important if you plan to drive a vehicle on the pavers. Thanks for the video, it was a good solution for me 22 years ago and after watching this video, think I will use the method again.
David, thanks for your contribution! I will consider your wise method and look into it! So far, no weeds.
Lovely idea thx for that
