  • Hide your wires! Hardwire your Nestour Ambient Lights to your Tesla Y. Do not blindly follow the Nestour installation. This is a modified step by step installation video.
    Hide your wires with a clean install. And don't plug it into your 12V socket. Hardwire it to a switch so you can turn it on and off.
    Don't void your warranty by connecting it to the 12V battery or the wrong wires. Better yet, put it on a switch and a fuse.

    Overall, great video. One suggestion though, please don’t shake the camera in your video. It is extremely hard to focus and create headache when watching. Again, thank you for awesome instruction.

    Hello does it matter if my relay is 100dd compared to 10dd?

    So just to be clear, the relay and the accessories must be tied separately into negative? It was not shown in the video. Relay to negative, accessories to same negative. Correct? So I could use a 3 port push connector to have port one to car negative, port 2 to relay negative, and port 3 going to accessories negative? Thank you in advance.

      yes, they can all go to the same ground. The only reason to have different negative points is just clean wiring. If I'm working on the left side, I'll find ground on the left, instead of putting a 6 foot wire going all the way to the right.

      @@teslamods that makes sense, thank you. I must have voltage leak somewhere because the relay is causing the accessory power to fluctuate on/off at about 2hz. I thought it was the back of the relay causing it, but even taped up, it continues. Maybe I just got a bad relay nice every other connection is thoroughly secured.
      Thanks again

    I just installed this kit tonight, and was very upset when I realized that the fiber LED's red don't work, meaning yellow and purple also don't work... it took me forever to install, any advice?

    • @teslamods
      @teslamods  Před rokem

      the fiber itself is a conduit. the problem may be the light source - the metallic piece where you connect your fiber. Connect power and see if all the colors work on all the metal pieces. if not, it cannot be repaired. return it.

      @NorelMaximus Před rokem

      @Tesla Mods PJ I already issued a complaint with Nestour and they are sending a replacement. The 4 LEDs that connect to the fibers don't light up red. The footwell lights work fine.

    I like this tutorial with the exception of tapping the wires. This just voided your warranty on the entire car wiring. Yes, all of it. since you spliced into the CAN bus, Tesla will never repair this car again for free if anything is wrong with the electrical or computer systems... not smart
