  • I started out to make a video on using my coring system, show how easy it is to get a nested set of blanks... Well the timber didn't cooperate, and after three catastrophic fails...we finally got our set.
Some set up tips, some what not to dos, and a little message on looking for cracks.
    Hope you enjoy!

Nice video Tony. A coring system is one of my dream tools but it will be a long time before I get one. I’ve never used one but I’m wondering if the wood was too soft and that’s why the tenon failed on the first core. 🤷🏼‍♂️
I like the camera angle you used in the latter half of the video.
Hope your summer hasn’t been too smoky.

The wood was small leaf maple, and there was a softness to the sap wood that I should have caught. My main take away was get a full depth tenon, and get into the harder wood if possible.
I would not recommend the coring system I have as a first one. The One Way Easy Core seems to have the best results and is very versatile... but after spending 700$ on this one, I am learning how to make it work for me. I have another coring video coming in September where things went way smoother!
I appreciate the support! Thank you Stuart!

@@tonyturnswood I’ve priced the One Way and it seems comparable to yours on price. I think both have pluses and minuses. Just different ways to “skin the cat”
