Seeing a load of comments about how I put up a photo of Carr at around 2:37 instead of O’Connell. That’s my bad, I do all of those photos live so I think I just saw the #4 and didn’t think much past it after that. You can pin me down as someone who is thankful O’Connell is switching to #12 -Simon

People always judge guys on their draft position instead of their production so just pretend AOC came out after his junior year when he actually had a first round grade. Like Drake Maye his team was much worse and he struggled. Considering the circumstances he had as good a rookie year as he could have he had no starting reps a brand new coach and OC and was just thrown to the wolves and not asked to lose games. He transformed his body like Brady did in his first offseason and looks much more like an NFL player. If you want to hear something interesting go back to last years draft and listen to the PFF guys talking about Aiden they thought he had potential and if Purdy can do it so can Aiden he's got a good enough arm and throws with anticipation with some accuracy stranger things happen all the time.

@@DurthiiI love Aidan. I hope he keeps the job. I liked Derek Carr though too. I think both were good enough to win with as long as we have a decent defense. Which Carr only had in 2016.
In a very general sense there are two distinct paths a gm can take to team building in the nfl it seems.
A. You get your guy at QB typically with a top pick in the draft and then build the team around him.
B. You build the team up and then you find the guy or a game manager at QB
That’s how I view it at least and from that perspective the Raiders are doing plan B. If you’re doing plan B then you take best available that falls to you in the draft. You do something like draft Brock Bowers when you have Michael Mayer already.

Good job guys, you put a picture of Carr. Aiden was a projected 1st round pick if he declared in '22. He was the second highest rated rookie QB last year behind CJ Stroud.

Not exactly sure what metric you’re using to determine that O’Connell was the second highest rated rookie quarterback last year. While both didn’t have nearly as much time on the field, both Levis and Richardson had more impressive seasons with higher upside. Both had higher passer ratings last season than O’Connell. And in terms of him being a first round pick last year-first of all, gonna need to see a source for that one cause I don’t think I have ever heard that from anywhere, and secondly, that’s the draft that made Kenny Pickett a first round pick, so the bar isn’t exactly high. I sincerely doubt that any NFL team would have used a first rounder on him in 2022, and if they had, it would have only been because the drought of QB talent in that draft was horrific. We don’t mean to just shit on O’Connell though. Personally, I think he had a great rookie season and greatly outperformed his draft stock. If he continues to improve next year and solidifies his position within the team, I’ll be gladly wrong. I just think it’s not realistic at this point to project him as the next great Raiders starting qb, as many in the comments seem to be doing. Unless O’Connell has a spectacular second season, the Raiders biggest need by far will continue to be QB.

I say this in an honest effort to help you grow and mature your show. If you want to grow your audience, make sure your language reflects non-bias words. There are ways to convey the same ideas you had expressed today without showing bias for or against a team. I recommend practicing and recording it first and replaying it.

saying the raiders offense is better than the defense is laughable, look at the stats after AP took over and it’ll tell you everything you needa know, whoever gets the start will have an amazing supporting cast and will have no excuses as to why they fail
