I'm always wondering why I never see people talk about Esstac's gear (mag pouches not withstanding). I have their enhanced tegris belt and like it a lot.
I remember one of thoose plastic tools falling out of my ferro slickster platebag like 5 years ago. still useful to this day. hope they never stopped adding them
Another great review. When you go over the details it helps people decide on options. I was considering buying just the cumberbund to fit too another PC and when you show the details it helps me decide if it will work. This is very helpful when mix matching gear. Keep up the great reviews
Thank you for your review of this. I really like all the esstac products I own and really wanted more info on this as the website doesn't really give any detail. Now I have the confidence to pull the trigger on it and move forward.
I run an Esstac placard and pouches cause they rock, but this sounds a lot like the SMC carrier I’ve been running for a year now. Of course if I hadn’t gotten it for only $149 I would have never pulled the trigger, but the pontoons/airflow design and use of rock buckles make it appear quite similar in design. On top of that it’s way lighter than most similarly outfitted carriers, and comes with zippers for Crye compatible back panels.
This actually has alot of cool features to it i wish there was some sort of cable routing on the shoulder pads tho maybe in the form of laser cut molle or somn else and a structured molle cumberbund that allows mounting inside and outside like you were saying thatd be pretty slick
There are so many different quick release hardware options for plate carriers. It's kinda hard to tell one from the other in pictures. Would love to see a video on all the options. Unless the answer is "just get tubes" then that's fair too.
i run simple ITW Buckles on my 1 band on the avs and its working great. Lots of people run Cobra buckles but id stay away. they are designed to lock down while under pressure so its almost impossible to remove from a Casualty if its under tension
@@Nick-hm9rh I'm setting up a split chest rig and want to make the gap from the side release buckles smaller. The form factor of the quick release in this video and tubes fit that requirement.
That release buckle is called the ROC buckle...it has shorter pull release compared to First Spear Tubes= less movement to unlock the buckle, but you have to align it exactly when locking it. The downside I experience is that it is bulkier than the Tubes, harder to align when the cummerbund is full of pouches, and has a loud click noise compared when locking the cobra buckles and the tubes. I prefer the First Spear tubes because the movement is simpler and cleaner look. IIRC First Spear is suing the company that make the ROC buckles for copying their design ..
ROC buckles are cool but once exposed to dust or sand they become hard as hell to unbuckle. After a mission, I'll be standing there struggling to undo them pulling and yanking as hard as I could, and nothing, while my whole squad was looking at me like I was an idiot. Didn't have that problem with Tubes or Taktic buckles tho. More companies should go with the Taktic buckles instead of ROCs IMO.
You have too big of plates for the medium. The medium is designed for Medium SAPI which is 9.5 x 12.5. I run L210’s in my medium as their more so swimmer but called shooter. Looks like you’re trying to shove Large plates in and that carrier size isn’t built for that. I had an email from Dan I was going to include with a better explanation but can’t find it.
The guys at esstac are genuinely awesome people. And they are always innovating designs. Very good people with very good products!!

and now, for the first time on EODfish, let's go ahead and ghost that plate pocket

The cummerbund is actually made with laminate. So it’s double layered 1000d laminated material.

Tubes are not the ideal option, but they are the highest quality option.

Cross posted to ARFCOM.

I could see that happening.
Reminds me of the pig brig from skd a bit. Full loop front with loop strips for pontoons on the inside 🤔
Cool design though
Dope

They are medium ESAPI.
@@EODFish Weird. Mine doesn’t fit like that at all. I’d still say the plates are too big.
I’d argue any medium that isn’t specifically marketed as low vis that doesn’t fit the current issued armor is the culprit with respect to sizing.
@@EODFish This isn’t an issued carrier though..So don’t compare issued plates. Civilians don’t get issued plates lmfao
So basically another stt like pc
How so?
@@EODFish like affordable vendor exclusive pc. Or is it still sold by another company. No notifications fot replies
Oh ok.
