  • Why Ghana is so rich?
Ghana is one of Africa’s rising stars, the country doesn’t fall far behind the big economic players on the continent like Nigeria, South Africa, and Morocco and it is the only African country whose entertainment industry is giving Nigeria a run for its money. Ghana is a beautiful West African state situated in the center of the Gold Coast of Africa, with a population of over 31 million people, and has a 535-km-long shoreline that includes breathtaking lagoons and lush mangrove forests.
The country’s tropical climate varies from a Sudanian-type climate in the north with a short rainy season to the high rainfall regime of the forested Guinean and Guinea-congolian Regions in the southwest.
Ghana has become one of the richest countries in Africa because of its numerous economic activities and its ability to attract foreign investors to come and invest heavily in the country. Ghana has thrived especially in sectors of Agriculture, Mines, and Tourism. In this video, we are going to take a deep dive into the different reasons why Ghana is so rich.

@@akosuadiamond2731 We are mislead by this idea that minerals are riches of a country. Not true! To get to those minerals, you need technology. That technology can only come from education. Education requires investment on people and investment on infrastructures. In other words, you need a government with big resources to educate the children in science and tech and at the same time build big projects that will employ those educated.
However, when you have a small population, you can't gather enough fund to build big projects. When you can't feed your children because you have drought and poor soil, your main goal is not big projects but food safety.
Agriculture is really the gateway to progress. When people are fed, they can think and research. Europe and America have the most important natural resources: water, fertile soils and they are able spend their time on education.
For example, do you know why Ghana or Ivory Coast are richer than Mali or Senegal? Look at their Agriculture and population! And you know Mali has gold, uranium and many other minerals, but it is a barren land, underpopulated.
Even Nigeria's power is because of population size and Agriculture.

@@elvangulley3210 That's 💯 % true. Those who are saying it's not true have not lived in other African countries. They only try to compare Ghana to European, American and other well developed Asian countries. Ghana started its latest development only about 22 years ago and the results are clear. The country has changed completely. If you look very carefully, the hardships on Ghanaians is self influenced, largely caused by the people themselves and not the government. A large number of people have moved into the main cities where there's no job opportunities for them instead of staying in the rural areas where farming, fishing, gold mining and other means of employment can easily be found. This has created a large number of unemployed workers and thus created an imbalance of the economy. Most of the people think the sales of the raw natural resources in the country should automatically bring money into their pockets without a job. A purely African way of thinking.

It may be rich but as with many other countries, this wealth does not seem to have benifited the very poor.I have made 6 visits and am about to make my seventh in June and I continue to be appalled by the poor conditions under which many of the people live. The boom in real estate has not changed their lives and many still lack basic amenities such as a toilet and running water. The presence of expensive mega churches in poor neighborhoods is also disturbing.and only seem to enrich the various pastors, apostles prophets and bishops.Marx was right.Religion is the opium of the people .Ilove Ghana and Ihope that it prospers. To be honest,I see similar problems in my native country Jamaica but that is a discussion for another time.
