Are you wondering what the best diet is for POTS?
Are you noticing symptoms after meals and wondering why they could be happening?
Perhaps you feel more symptomatic after a meal, or you feel as if you constantly have to eat to keep your energy levels up.
It can be hard to distinguish what's real and what's not when there's so much conflicting information out there around food. There's talk around keto, plant-based, low-carb, gluten-free, low FODMAP, etc. It's tiring just reading that list.
And when you're struggling with low energy levels, it can be hard to figure out what can help or hinder your energy levels. You also don't have all the energy in the world to prepare all kinds of meals.
Although each person is different and lots of experimentation is required, I hope that today's video at least gives you some starting steps and helps you tune in to why you've felt like you do.

Thanks for video. The only thing that has worked for myself is giving up meat and dairy and eating whole foods. Even now when I eat some junk vegan food my symptoms are so much worse. I find it easier in the summer to eat this way and can eat more raw but in the winter I feel as though I run out of energy to even prepare the food. Take care x
My experience is similar, I follow a vegan diet and feel much better but can’t tolerate junk food, sure to cause a flare up.
Thank you for sharing Chrissy! Dairy also seems to be a factor that I hear of often affecting people, so your experience seems to match that. You've also given me a few ideas for future videos to make :)
@@if3581 That's very interesting that both of you mentioned how junk food flares everything up. Although food can't fix everything, it's wild to see how much of an impact it does make on symptoms.

Same here. I'm an ethical vegan now but when I used to eat dairy it made my symptoms so bad.
Now my problem is I don't seem to have the energy to make meals and end up eating out a lot. It makes symptoms so much worse as does junk food and sugar.
Complex carbs and vegetables make me feel amazing.
Only thing helping is going carnivore, and eating smaller meals with salt. No carbs. Beef butter bacon eggs. Excellent.
I drink coffee but when I first got infected with covid-19 was last February and through much time of meditation and practice start drinking coffee when I knew it wasn't reacting to my symptoms and making it worse but coffee it's a very helpful for and but I don't go over 12 oz to 16 day I had the dizziness fatigue and all that and better and better everyday
My daughter has recently diagnosed with pots her headaches are very bad is there anything I could give her to help lower the headache pain??
I’ve been gluten free for 4 years since diagnosed & no help. I’ve tried keto and low carb too and no refined sugar. I just started dairy free we will if this helps I have 3 autoimmune conditions. Since postpartum my pots went crazy and I’m bedridden

I’ve started to look pregnant lately. I’m not really fat in the rest of my body, just my belly, I think it may be because of having to take so much salt. I’m wondering how to remedy this.
When I went very low carb my bloating and belly went way down.

Does fasting helps?
Some people have reported that it really does help them. There's so many different kinds of fasting though. The biggest word of caution around fasting (mostly around the more extreme kinds) is that when your nervous system and body are in such a fragile state, your body might not be able to tolerate it. It probably might need more soothing and nourishment, rather than less.
I was doing OMAD, not intentionally just never had or made time to eat. Since my POTs diagnosis I’ve been trying to eat small meals more frequently. It’s tough as I was OMAD for over a year. Before that I did 14-18 hours of fasting. Now I do my best to eat two meals a day, but try to fast 14-16 hours. I think it helps my cognitive functions and right now thats what keeping me employed.

@@RobdeKlerk-qg6lcI do. Cold feet and even hands sometimes. Whole body cold as well. When it was summer, the sun would make me sweat like crazy.

Have you tried keto or carnivore diet ? I wonder if that can help.
I've heard of people improving their symptoms on each of these diets. But I've also heard of people whose symptoms didn't really change. In my opinion, it's worth experimenting with various approaches, as long as it's done safely and healthily (making sure to include a variety of nutrients). I tried doing a variation of keto for a bit, and while I found that it cleared up my brain fog, it affected my mood negatively. After weighing the pros and cons, I decided it wasn't for me. But each person differs.

Will give it a shot , I watched some videos from dr kenberry , he seems legit but I dono. he says I shouldn’t expect results too fast cuz it takes time for the nerves and body to heal. And for some ppl it takes many weeks. So I guess will see . Thanks so much for ur response 😀
I went Keto back in. 2016, before it was a household name. I felt great but when work stress increased and the health issues began (POTs unbeknownst to me) I veered away from strict keto and did more ultra low carb. I was just tired and it was tough putting in the time to cook as much as I did and meal prep. I was working 2 jobs at that time and probably 50-60 hours a week on my main job. I was laid off 11/19, then Covid hit and I ran back into the comfort of carbs. POTs came back (never left but I wasn’t working and under constant duress) April 2021. Had been working my new job and it was getting stressful. POTs went full blown with tachycardia kicking in 9/2022. I was diagnosed 2/2023 and went back on strict keto April 2023. I’m finally over the Keto flu and feel pretty good. Physically not so much, but at least my brain works and Keto improves my mood, cognitive functioning, sleep, energy, inflammation and more. When your brain stops communicating effectively with your heart, bladder, gastrointestinal organs, feet, eyes, head, and more you take your wins where you can get them. If I weren’t working it wouldn’t be so bad because stress definitely doesn’t help POTs. Good luck! ✌🏽♥️🙏🏽
Do you experience breathing issues with pots?
Yes, I used to. A lot of people with POTS have dysfunctional breathing patterns.
My daughter has been having breathing issues for several months with lots of pain all the way around the rib cage. It’ll stay for hours at a time and it’s getting harder and more painful to breathe. Pulmonologist gave her inhalers, but they are not helping when used. No one will test her for POTS and she has all of these symptoms
@@acrad7187 find a chiropractic neurologist in your area. That's how I found out what's wrong with me. I have dysautonomia that's being caused by cerebral hypoprofusion. Dysautonomia is similar to pots and the hyperfusion means I'm not getting enough blood to my brain possibly because of car accidents I was in.

Hi there! It's a bit of a hard question to answer. I still have POTS, but I don't have any of the symptoms that I used to have (palpitations, crushing fatigue, chest pain, etc.)

Is sugar bad when having you have pots?
@@naechtlichesgift It took a little while. It was very gradual, with lots of ups and lots of downs. I think we expect it to be linear but it was not like that at all.
Sugar is generally considered to be inflammatory. A little bit here and there is okay, but more can also affect the gut. And many with POTS also struggle with gut issues, so it's best to take care of the gut as much as possible.
@@ivintila I'm in hospital tested positive for covid. My pots is so bad I can't even sit up in bed , I had 225 heart rate getting up

F this genes and this syndrome. Happiest year of my life, i got covid and my hEds became symptomatic. After 3 years, still cant get a job, cant going out of city due to pots and joint pains, cant breathe thanks to mcas. Tinnutis killing my mood every minute. I dont know really what to say...
Edit: Going to vegan/low histamine diet. Im on day 1 and will keep this post if its really work. Symptoms; PoTS, Mild mcas, very bad tinnitus and nasal congestion, joint pains, sleep problem, very bad brainfog.

@@YesPlease1 On low histamine diet with high dose antihistamines, my pots and allergies improved. But not that much so diet is not worth for me. And i keep losing weight nonstop due to caloric restriction.
But a lot of people seems be happy with results i think you should trt. Good luck
