  • I review the recently released peer-reviewed scientific paper that investigates the Younger Dryas cosmic impact effect in South America.
This is UnchartedX Podcast #2 - set to imagery and video here on youtube, or you can find the mp3 on my website.
*please note that I had to alter some of the music in the video after the fact. I had thought that the intro/exit song was CC by, I was mistaken. Apologies for the abrupt audio transitions, but I didn't want the claim to affect the video, as the music is purely background, I don't think it has anything to do with the content of the video itself.

@@Deebz270 Yet another argument from authority.. That's very anti-science and I suggest you reevaluate your talking points because they need some work. I'll say it again, climatology is just sophisticated modeling and people are definitely allowed to have an opinion on the actual data. Once you start saying people can't speak on a certain subject you start becoming a religious nut on the matter. Open your eyes and see that modern day environmentalism/climate fear mongering is a very religious and dogmatic view of the world and it even has an 'end times' scenario. It fits almost every description of religious insanity. They are attempting to redistribute the wealth that we all have accumulated over the years because of our access to reliable affordable energy. It's another control mechanism and I hope one day you will be free from their grip so you can enjoy your life instead of fearing for it.

@@TheAquaBallistic yeah. But co2 is still a greenhouse gas. Adding it heats the air. This create feedbackloops. Like more water vapour that can be in the air. Antropologic climate change is very real. Just as real as an comet impact can change the climate or anything else. The sheer size of the creation of co2 alone via fossil fuels should be enough reason to stop. Ive worked at a blast furnace (co2 factories with a little bit of iron and slug as bypeoduct) and ive seen mountains of coal come and go so freakingly fast, ending up as co2 in the air. Its just staggering. This changes the energy balance of the biosphere. No one want you to change your life for the climate. We only need an other energy source. Subsidies to fossil fuel industries (25 percent of all money that goes around in fossil fuel energy, billions of dollars of taxpayers money go to fossil fuel industries as is their pays for the energies... if we use the subsidies of fossil fuel industries for alternatives, 1 problem will be solved. Then comes the earosols of burning fossil fuels cone raining down. More sunlight will hit earth and the damage allready done will show its true proportions.

Scientifically it fits the observations as we've tested the Quelccaya Ice Cap in southern Peru which has shown Aluminim-26 Beryllium 10 and other sedimentary tables which can only be created by a solar nova. This is also confirmed in moon samples taken during Apollo missions. There are too many fudging with a comet impact theory starting with its circular shape and unraveling from there. The work of plasma physicists is the best work I've seen covering this and other seemingly cyclical events every 12k years going back as far as our ice records allow.

So the ratio of normal people VS stupid ones is in dramatic decline. The amount of people (think millenials or younger, not older generations) i run into regularly who think im some kind of genius astounds me! I believe that Potholer54 did a video on climate change deniers using a similar chart (I could not locate the video on a quick look tho). He pointed out that climatologists use a base line year 0 when talking about historical climate data. That year 0 corresponds to 1950. I believe this chart does the same. Otherwise we would have to believe that the current global temperatures are on par with those during the Little Ice Age, and I don't believe any one would make that argument. Therefore, I believe that this chart actually ignores the last 70 years of rising CO2 emissions and corresponding temperature increases. Overall, I thought that he did a very good on the YD Impact Hypothesis and his apparent dismissal of the importance of current climate change would be my only significant disagreement.

The lack of pre YDB ice around the crater in Greenland is also such a definitive piece of evidence. With the work done by Randal Carlson around the flooding in the northern hemisphere , what a period of time to have witnessed in Earth’s history. This paper may be a huge step forward for the comet impact hypothesis. Really great work Ben. I hope this can reach as wide an audience as possible. The creator had a subject, a story, and a message, and all were well presented and efficiently laid out in an fairly easily understood format. It's a tremendous amount of information to try packing into a video of less than an hour, and I stand impressed how the creator did this in a structure that came together section by section in a smooth layout.
    Well done my friend 👍

Who instructed the education systems around the entire world to deliberately mislead it's students by denying them of all the potential claims and causes theorised? Theoretical science has replaced physical Science. Relativity has replaced something real. Theory and fact have become one.
Ironically the Information Age, is becoming more of a misnomer with every passing day.

I do believe that Jesus was a real person that had a transcendental experience and was a genuinely good being and teacher...a good man, a kind man to all including women. He even treated women as equals to men. His teachings and the Christian bibles have been turned into patriarchal power grabs as have Moslem and Jewish faiths. I think this because I read "The King James" version of the bible, the Torah and the writings of Mohammed over a period of about 5 years (in English, of course). I started reading "The Book of Mormon" but couldn't stand it ( it was so obvious a Patriarchal Grab for power and especially power over women). They are all very similar so it is obvious that they all came from the same roots. If the various religions that I have mentioned actually practised what is in these writings we would alll be in a more satisfactory, kind and Just world that might not be on the brink of "Mass Extinction". Why can't we all just be good to each other and live in a Just Society as laid out in the teachings of Jesus. We have enough to go around so why don't we do it do you suppose?

In case you missed it, google "decoding Gobekli Tepe with archaeoastronomy: what does the fox say?" and check out the scholarly paper(not the song). It brings (pre)historical context, and information from diverse areas of scientific inquiry, like archaeoastronomy, coherent catastrophism, mythology and archaeological parallels therein, and of course the fine work of Max Schmidt, done during his sadly foreshortened time as lead archaeologist at Gobekli Tepe. I am forever grateful to Martin Sweatman and Dimitrios Tsikritsis for leaning into the strong headwinds that seem to incessantly blow against those who dare threaten to discredit the stories of those who have so much more than scientific inquiry invested in their stories-egos, careers, money...truth, or the quest for it, be damned.
The gentlemen who wrote this paper also wrote a clap-back paper, in response to one of the many unfavorable critiques of their work, notable coming from a group calling itself the "the tepe telegrams"....this group seems to view their story, their work, as the only legitimate work being done regarding Gobekli Tepe....has anyone else noticed the paucity of information and discoveries being made there, since the departure of Max Schmidt? It seems the dark cloud of suppresion has descended upon this incredibly important site, instead of the light of scientific study, with multiple disciplines welcomed.

As our country's wealth division gets worse, many people struggle to find happiness wherever they can while they struggle to pay the bills. In trying to find something to offset anxiety, loneliness, and unhappiness maybe the simple entertainment pieces are the only things they have. I think we also see that with the increase of suicides, unrest, and self medication or overeating.

But even if it only reaches a few people I’ll be happy that some awareness has been spread. We are at such an important pivotal point in our journey, we can actually do something about the impending inevitable, and yet people have no idea that it will all come crashing down, it’s an insult to the gift of life and consciousness they have been given.

@drdalet Here is my poor attempt to transcribe this memorable statement from 16:32 to 21:18
"Cosmic impacts are, simply put, the biggest risk to humanity's future. It is a true existential threat, and it's one that we all should be collectively paying more attention to. As a species we can't do much about natural disasters like flooding, earthquakes, volcanoes, or rapid changes in climate. On their own none of these are a true threat to our species, although they could set us back a decade or so they won't truly wipe us out. Cosmic impacts do have that power. Not only do they cause the same natural disasters as previously mentioned, but they impart so much energy into the planet’s ecosystem that they have been responsible for all of the major extinction level events that we know about today. At the same time they are the one thing that we have some power to do something about, if we put our collective backs into it.
We need to truly evaluate our priorities. Climate change is a political topic, and while lots of people are worried about cows farting and slandering CO2 by calling it a pollutant, the reality is that in the last 5000 years our climate has been in a period of unprecedented calm that the planet just has not witnessed in the last 500,000 years. This is why our civilization has risen to the heights that it has. Yet this period of calm will, with one hundred percent probability, come to an end someday.
We need to be using this opportunity wisely. But I fear that we're just too human for that in many ways. Our eyes are on each other, they're on our money, the next election cycle, on our petty conflicts and our religions. They're not looking up into the stars. We pretend that the resources of this planet are somehow infinite all the while a real threat to our existence looms out in the cosmic environment. This is the same cosmic environment that represents the real salvation for our species. It represents the truly only long term solution for us, which is to both protect our planet from these impacts and to evolve and spread humanity into the stars, so that a single cosmic disaster cannot end us. Call me old fashioned if you like, but I don't think that many people retain this vision for the future of humanity, although just a few decades ago we did.
Now it's all about materialism, competitions on Instagram, virtue signaling on Twitter, identity politics, endless cycles of celebrity culture, and instant gratification. Take a look at the trending tab on youtube and see the type of stuff that is getting the majority of views. Regular TV is astounding and shocking in its emptiness of content, and the crass nature of its advertising. I think even Edward Bernays would be rolling over in his grave. Hollywood has degenerated to mostly committee driven comic book movies, and remakes of movies that have no need of remakes. They are flat out beating us over our heads with the most basic of plots and writing, as if we're all too dumbed down to handle subtlety or complexity. And then they stuff the films full of feminist virtue signaling, the unrealistic blackwash of historically white characters, product placements, and gratuitous violence. If you dare to complain about this, they just issue the catch call of our times: you're a sexist, you're a racist, you're clearly a flyover country white man living in your mom's basement. The world seems full of inane, vapid, vulgar, and culturally corrosive content. And even a brief study of the causes and factors involved with the downfall of previous civilizations will leave you with strong evidence that the Western World is circling the drain. Life seems like it should be so much more than this type of activity.
True purpose, true love, and the satisfaction of a job well done are all things that require a long term commitment, often years of effort and dedication. But it seems like these ideals are being discarded for the temporary goals of ‘being happy'. As if suffering and sadness are now outside the bounds of the normal human condition. This is a dangerous fallacy, as it's only through the crucible of suffering that we can truly feel rewarded by success. The light at the end of the tunnel is only bright when it's compared to the darkness that we've been through. No matter how many likes you get for your food photos on facebook it's ultimately a hollow feeling. I think more and more people are becoming lost through the pressures and demands of modern culture and life, and feeling like something is wrong with you when you aren't ‘happy', whatever happy is.
We can live our lives with meaning and purpose, and in our modern high tech society that is slowly starting the colonization of our solar system, we have a collective opportunity to move our species forward and guarantee its future. No humans before us have ever had this opportunity, and unless we grasp it we will be inevitably knocked back into the stone age, or just eliminated altogether, the next time we cross paths with a decent sized chuck of mindless rock that's floating around through space.
Imagine if this was the message that was being given to our children. Perhaps we could inspire a whole new generation to reach for the stars, rather than reaching for a smartphone and a social media popularity contest that no one ever really wins."

Thanks for another great video. I cant stop talking about this stuff with my collegues and you do an excellent job of explaining it. As for your discourse on the cultural trends that are commonplace today, I would recommend "symbolic misery: the Hyperindustrial Epoch" by Bernard Stiegler. It is VERY dense, but (in my opinion) explains how and why we have arrived where we are better than any other contemporary philosopher. I Look forward to your next video :)

You're absolutely right about the current cultural state, you should continue to enlighten people over the fact. People are afraid to speak out as they, indeed, get lashed out for speaking their opinion.

Interesting; in my ignorance, I wasn't even aware that there was a controversy regarding the existence of a YD event. I do know that there is a great controversy as to the level of civilization prior to it, but to as whether it actually happened, I thought that was widely accepted. I do hope more people see this. Thank you for all the work you put into this presentation.

Your grandstanding is most welcome, as few people seem to recognize little beyond the vapid buzz of consumerism. If technology has a sweet spot, it would be our recently found abilities to become aware of space rock threats to Earth. The presentation of the paper is also very welcome, hopefully making this science accessible to a wider audience. Being a Professional Geologist (LPG) myself with decades of experience, I appreciate the enhanced challenge of helping non-scientists to understand data and its implications.
My hopes for bringing this incredibly important information to a wide audience are with you while you seek a balance of activities. Often, I think of starting a channel of my own. Meanwhile, I wish you all the best.

Evidence-based sociological reflection is rare in anything online, and is desperately needed as cultural focus strays farther away from measurable reality. For whatever it’s worth, I think a brief, reflective segment in every related vid examining human history is not only appropriate, but a legitimate service to humanity. Even those viewers who object to their world-view being contradicted *need* that sober, evidence-based contradiction to support a cultural shift toward sanity (awareness of measurable reality). So, in my view at least, you’re doing excellent work with a very refreshing degree of clarity! 🙏🏻☺️🌿

Inspired by your words, but I do feel the urge to add that we as humans have to take care of problems of ALL scopes, ranging from trivial housekeeping, to children's education, to catastrophic climate change, to existential meteor threat. Lets keep all of them on our plate and not disregard any of them. Lets discuss if we put the right amount of energy into them.

To answer the question. Your scientific analysis is absolutely top-tier. You both contextualize and carefully explain the evidence and logic of the paper.
