First Derek you mentioned in a previous Vlog about doing what you are wanting to become. So I contacted a company and ask to do a project for them, no charge, so I could get it in my portfolio of work...bam! Thanks Planet Derek.
Secondly,my day. Typically I am beginning my day early, 430ish with some coffee, meditation and then off to the gym. When I return I am responding to emails/text and then checking in on projects in the works. We just hired a new sales person to help generate new FB ad clients, so time spent training and building support for his success. We produce 4 live shows a week, so I make sure equipment to do so is in order and streams are set up and ready to go...in other words, like you, even though I run a digital company, it’s a real business...there are days when I grind and others I wrap up around 6. By the way, I am a standing desk kind of guy...oh and I make 3-5 vlogs a week as well...I want to begin outsourcing more of some things...we have a VA now and she is amazing..gosh, I have more but I think you get the idea, this is a real job, real company...

"Slam that like button" gets me every time. My dissertation ruins every downtime I have. Always thinking about the topic and how to make it work. Your vlogs inspire me. I am evolving toddler yoga classes in to Parenting parties creating mindfulness-based intervention tools tailored to each parent's messages to their children.

I love the authentic approach. A day in the life = working from 10 a.m. to 6 or 7 pm with a break for the gym.

People think that being an artist is a glamourous career. Spend all your time in the studio, painting and being a creative free spirit. Uh uh. I spend 80% of my time on marketing the art -- only 20% on creating it.
Each piece needs to be photographed, described in a story, and added to my website. Then there's creating content for my weekly newsletter, posting to social media, outreach to art consultants and collectors, submitting to shows and galleries, creating and tracking Facebook ads, submitting to magazines and blogs.
The list goes on and on. Most days find me working at my computer.

I was worried that you might not make it today!
I am somewhat of a hermit because of work.
I love Turmeric. Makes me feel good.
Day In The Life Of Me: My work is not easy. I provide websites for voice over actors. I have contractors to help me but I have to follow all projects at various stages and I am the one who actually puts all the pieces together - the WordPress work. I spend a lot of time at my desk and sometimes I avoid it because my work can feel overwhelming. I bought a laptop (my first one) so I could have a change of scenery but I’ve only used it when I go on vacation (cuz I’m never totally on vacation).
I get up, get coffee, read and pray, go to my office, weed out the crap email, read email from clients, handle any emergencies, get to work on projects and other work-related stuff. Trying to get a handle on distraction, working diligently, making cold calls (my most challenging task), and get in some work “on” my business. I actually don’t have much of a life (I’m sitting here writing this on a Saturday night). 😕

I have sat in my chair in front of a computer for over a year researching and writing my dissertation. My preliminary oral defense is in one week. After approval, my study can begin. Then I'll be interviewing the dad-participants and interpreting their experience. I expect to be a doctor by Labor Day. The name of my study? Daddy Rocks: Phenomenonology of Mindful Fathering in the Home Environment.

I am doing the side hustle as you taught me in one of your webinars a year ago. I don't go to coffee shops, but I am taking every hour here and there to build my blog. I also spend a lot of time studying. I am a student of your course, Blog That Converts, and I am preparing my Super Power Solution, as you recommend in the course, which I think is a very important strategy. Thanks for doing everything you are doing.

Love your videos Derek. Very motivational. I work from home as a Real Estate Wholesaler in Pensacola. The majority of my days, I am working on my direct mail marketing campaign, eventually I will have it completely automated, but while I am still a fledgling business I have to augment production to save costs. I also manage 2 part-time production employees, market my business online via FB, CL, Instagram, etc., and in public via bandit signs, park benches, and fliers in local businesses, and occasionally I attend networking groups in my area.

Hi, Derek. Great vid (as usual). Working for yourself is a lot tougher most days than any job. Getting the work done is hard when you’re on an island. No crew, no assistant, just you and cyberspace. If I don’t get started first thing in the morning and keep plugging, I can pretty much write the day off as a loss. Even then, it’s still a challenge to stay focused all day.

Some weeks it's about putting in a lot of hours. Other weeks, it's freedom! All depends whether I'm in execution or celebration mode! Thanks for the fun videos Derek.

I like how real and transparent you are being, and how you incorporated promoting the health products into your Vlog in a direct and upfront way. I am going to be creating a vlog and also promoting a range of physical products as a distributor with two European companies, as my initial profit centre, so you have just demonstrated how to do that!
Agree totally re the transparency with ingredients - I'm in the UK where European laws are a lot stricter controls on disclosing what is in food and also cleaning products - where there's also apparently at issue in the US re lack of transparency, and using ingredients that are actually banned in Europe. So I think companies that are transparent and do not contain toxic ingredients will have the competitive edge.
Re how I spend my day mostly behind the computer at present interacting on social media and learning how to do online marketing - ready now to put it all into practice. Also going to be out walking in my local neighbourhood delivering and collecting catalogues door to door - which is the way these product ranges have traditionally been promoted. After hearing your interview you did a while back on James Wedmore's podcast about the health benefits of walking, I've realised this is a very good reason to carry on with the catalogue method alongside the online marketing.

I'm not scared of hard work, I'm happy to work hard if it gives me the end result (leaving my day job that kills me mentally and physically). I love my side hustle as a Social Media Manager... I'm happy to work a 24 hour day doing that if I can help my clients.

Remember transparency reports? In today’s world people want to know what you ate for breakfast and how you closed the $50k deal. I think that’s great. With so much competition in the market, the one thing your competitors can’t take - your spirit, personality, and the emotional connection you create.
