- This old Ford Tractor is pretty good! Maybe it's a 8N? Maybe it's a 9N? Being the block was swapped it's harder to tell. Anyway, It get's a much needed entire fuel system cleaning, complete carburetor swap, and tune up! Then of course we've got to test on it! A guy really likes this vintage ford tractor!

Y'all ever notice how he is so funny but never ever says anything dirty or cusses ? This is good entertainment !
Yup, no cussing, easy on the ears and funny. He's pretty smart and a good guy all around. I love it when he pours gas in the carburetors and says "Too much, Perfect"
Reminds me of Red Green
A real class act, that fella.
@@langer24106 Better looking and without the duct tape!
Dirty and swearing is for women comedians. That’s why they are not funny.
Derrick is a class act. It’s so nice to watch a video with my grandson without hearing a bunch of cussing. A guy really appreciates it. I could watch hours and hours of these videos.
My dad was a carpenter the F word was his favorite. I didn't turn into a serial killer. Yes I have a foul mouth but I'm a decent human being.
Amen, I'm especially happy that he doesn't use the LORDS name in vain. :)
Expletives deleted your lord
My neighbor hate level, she's up there. Freaking hilarious, how do not crack a smile.
I'm so sorry Michael.
I dig that one especially, I'm going to use that line.
Bout spit my coffee out when he said that but I bet all his neighbors love him. Seems like the type that will help anyone in need. Keep the vids coming, feller needs a good laugh now and again.
This is like a modern day Red Green Show. I love it!
Great comparison !
He even looks like a young Red Green!
Seems like hybrid of Red Green, Charley Farquharson and a Jim Gaffigan version of AvE :D
Lots of stuff in here, all good.
"Meatloaf is only warm once" is the truest saying a guy has heard
It's on a sign right inside my doorway at home
@@ViceGripGarage Left over meat loaf is perfect for spaghetti sauce the night after
Makes a mean sammich too.
@@ViceGripGarage I don't doubt that for a second. I think Confucius said it first.

"environmental friendly container...…… rhymes with dirt" , yup. I love the "Heavy VGG" game at the end. good vid!
Lol
Easily the best comment in the video and there were a couple!!!!
Best weed killer ever!!
He even poured "one for the homies" in there!
“A crack bigger then Jay Lo at the halftime show.” VGG
🤣🤣😬
ROFLMAO
I shall forever refer to my sunglasses as “The Ol Ray Charles’”.
ALL very good answers. And I think we owe it to Derek for it's the least we can do. Or am I wrong?
Awesome !!
Cracked open as big as J-Lows hilarious 😆.
“Made up four new cuss words”!!! I bust a gut laughing every time I watch this channel. Love it.
"beat on like a cabin screen door"
I felt that
I’ve been watching this guy for a while, and that has got to be the best quote ever! He really is original
"Meatloaf is only warm once" is the truest saying a guy has heard
Love that tractor, I'm glad to see you saving the old beast even if you are turning it into a Mahindra. You should get your boy trained up on her. Some happy memories driving tractors around and feeling big.
Seriously one of the best episodes yet! I haven’t laughed that hard in a good while. Tractor runs like a top now!
Thank you
Runs faktry i do say so myself!
Obviously a well brought up man who is passing it on to the kids
Vice grip garage best thing on CZcams to watch always keeps me laughing 💯🤣😂
Glad you enjoy
"Make sure you write nothing down."
oak 1971 KD9NXQ sounds like my new co workers.
What a coincidence, I used that same EPA approved container when I rebuilt my 2009 Brigs and Stratton. Works great
🤣🤣😬😬
"Meat loaf is only warm once fellars and I an't kidding ya" no truer words. Great content. Keep up the good work.
Watching this makes me appreciate how good of a mechanic my father was. You are very knowledgeable sir, keep up the good work. Good show...
Got a crack like J Lo at the Superbowl half time show LOLOLOL LMAO GRREEAATTTT
Yup a guy let his 9 yr old son stay up for that show. Hes 32 now.
LMAO too....
So stinking funny!
Its one of the best automotive channels full of funny sarcasm and satire.

A friday with VGG vid is a good friday
I wonder how many people went back and looked like I did? lol
"dumped out the old fuel in an environment friendly container behind the shop, that rhymes with dirt." OMG! A guy shot his mouthful of beer all over a guys monitor!! Classic!!! Hay and gravel, LMAO!
🤣🤣😬😬🇺🇸🦅
Can’t beat being home on a Friday and watching VGG!!!
Can't beat a lunchtime upload when its been a slow day at work!!!!
Takuro Spirit the ending of this was the best part lol
My favorite: The supplies seen on the workbench include Dupli-color aerosol paint, some type of aerosol blaster, Coors Light and Black Velvet Canadian Whiskey. "I'll be dipped...a guy needs every one of these on his workbench"
🤣🤣🍿🤟
23:10 straight up some of the funniest shit I’ve ever watched 😂
glad you enjoyed buddy
I'm going to screenshot it and make it my wallpaper on my work computer :)
I like at the very end of that clip, you can see a guy break character and smile. Mint!👌
"music pipealator", got it! One of these days I'm gonna go to the local napper and ask for sparkalators, lightning hoses, and lightning ruler...

I wanted to thank a guy for putting these vidjeos out when so much crazy stuff is going on in the world right now. Thank you for keepin a guy entertained🔧
You bet bud!
Oh you betcha there over in Wisconsin I almost forgot what the sun looked like
My Aunt bought me a similar tool kit 15 years ago and I still use it all the time.
GT 500 tractor. Your wit makes my day
I'm not sure of the rules in Meenysota, but when I was farming in Texas, we worked on the equipment only on warm, dry days. Winter is the time to haul crops to town.
When you were done, it sounded *Perfect*! I'm an old Flat Head (4) Ford guy and I know what they sound like. Great job!!!
Funny how ya sit here and tell him too rich to lean.. like im working on it.. the ear tuner never fails a guy.
@@davidcompanion814 I'm confused. Who is "ya" in your comment? I only congratulated him on a job well done. I said nothing about "rich" or "lean" or stoichiometric ration for that matter.
Was talking about myself... i was yelling at my phone.. was agreeing with you.
@@davidcompanion814 I knew what ya meant ..
Our old 8N was straight piped. Flushed out that fuel tank many times, the car was almost attached with quick connects. She ran like a dream. 13 mm is also a sin.
The torque wrench was epic
GREAT JOB, on the TRACTOR !!! enjoyed it..... I think the 1ST thing I ever drove, was my grandparents 1959 ???? Ford Jubliee tractor, which was used on the grandparents farm, til at least 1989 or so, not sure, my uncle died in a car wreck, and he was the last *runner* of the farm, now it is leased out.... I am in Jacksonville, FL, now....... I really enjoy your *rusty* adventures !!! ha ha
Meatloaf sammiches - that's what you do with the leftovers after the warmth has left.
Appreciate yuh showing a guy how those carbs get finessed...
I appreciated the end bit. You brought a little sun to this cloudy New Mexico day
Music pipe-a-lator and a whoop-dee-woo. You sir are my hero haha
NICE! I love smokin a fatty while watching a new episode of VGG on a Friday!
Grandpa had one of these on the farm. He let me "drive" it at age five sitting on his lap. He regretted that within seconds. Thank you for hours of enjoyment and memory jogging from a feller in Rock County MN.
I'm not sure how I came across your channel but boy am I glad I did!
we all have similar stories...
Yup, I went down the rabbit hole, starting with AvE. Finally arrived at the best, car guy channel. 👍
If you like ol vice grip here you might like zipties n bias plys...youll check him out if youve got a sence of humor.
Truth
accidently found his channel, now it is all I want to watch. Please keep making more.
Derek you are a scream and a breath of fresh air during our country being destroyed. You should run for President. Got my vote!
That little sequence at the end made me think of Jason Aldean. Aint that something.
A power equipment dealership I worked at had one of these with a forklift on the rear. I loved that tractor it ran so well. I used it all the time. It had a different starting procedure: while cranking the engine, you had to put the throttle all the way up then back to idle then it would start. It wouldn’t start unless you did that guaranteed. We usually drove the tractor while standing on the left side floorboard so we could look at the forklift, which meant we only used the clutch and never worried about brakes. It was a fun time.
I have a 9N just like it without the loader 1939 just like you said runs like a Swiss sundial. More tractors please.
Old tractor are good keep it up I own a ford 2000 1960 model I believe nothing better than old school stuff if you can drive it you can drive anything with a stick
Thanks for making my day much brighter! Between you and Zip ties vids life is good!
I was gonna mention zip ties to a guy too.
For those of you who dont know " zip ties and bias plies" channel is like this but waaaaay more crude.
It's truly a Canadian gem.
The bucking tractor at the end was priceless! Thanks for what you do!!!
Loved the urban cowboy ending!!
I love this channel . Grew up with the 8N did everthing possible with it and some of the impossible Dad and I overhauled 6 times so you now the work it did our our 240 acer farm Dad bought it is 1941 and I sold it in 2000, I wish I had it today. Not sure I what I would do with it but show it with my other Fords 1930, 1932, 1937, 1964.
epic video,at the end i was in tears, what a top bloke!
if he ever came to england,i would buy the guy a beer,or several.......he looks like quite a unit..
Just to let you know, these old Ford tractors the clutch is very easy to stick particularly after a rain. “Very hard to unstick”. Best thing is to use a block of wood to hold down the clutch pedal after use. Of course, I live in Georgia where super-hot humid summers are normal.
Got a crack like JayLo at the Super Bowl half time comment almost had me spew my coffee outta my nose!
Donno about your mechanical skills but your fashion sense is at the cutting edge, that’s basically why I subbed! 👍🏻
🤠😎😎
Move to Arizona dang it. That fireball, she shines bright all the time.
What’s that like? So it’s always hot inside the car? You don’t have to mow a lot? Hot?
@@sweetwilliam49 Arizona. She's not all desert. We are in Flagstaff. 7,000 ft. Average 100 in of snow a year. How's that for hot?
jrholeman sounds like one extreme to the other! Do you have like a mid seventies all year around??
Yeah sure. We have that. But it's a secret. Sorry.
It seems to be running much better now. All it takes is a little bit of gunk to get in the fuel line or the jets in the carburetor to foul up the entire operation.
Greatest ending to a video I’ve ever seen 😂😂😂😂
I may have rewatched the music video bit 3 or 4 times....
Blowing out E14.... oh tell me about it... a "hard to start" lawnmower got me good... and now I have an inversion table... relaxes me to the moon...
I like watching him he is funny at times puts a smile on my face I enjoy the videos keep them rolling thanks
I know this is a bit old to comment, but I hope you see it... There was a patron that said you could get a Netflix's show... I believe this and would: and believe, that Netflix's may need a wholesome show... Always loved the show... Great to see a family so close!
“Rhymes with dirt”. I spit out some cold snack when I heard that!
The ending with the purple jacket is fall-on-the-floor shoot-beer-out-yer-nose hilarious. One of your funniest episodes.
Thanks for the laughs.
You bet thanks for watching
Graceful and detail oriented, as always
🤣🤣
During this quarantine me and my 7 year old boy have been watching old VGG now i have a 7 year old running around saying the same things .. its great comedy !
Thanks Derek. I have pissed myself. Literally pissed my own pants. I’m a grown ass man. Or at least I was. 🤣
Just love to see this guy working.
He have a fun attitude to all the different problems he gets.
That tracker is smiling now. “Vice Grip Garage” best thing on CZcams !
I can't stop watching these videos. He absolutely cracks me up.
His neighbors are thinking wtf is wrong with this fella 😂😂👌
Great auditory example of the proper tuning of the air/fuel mixer screw

The details of an old updraft carburated engine in these tractors is excellent! More old equipment fixing!
Thanks! Can do that 👍
Really love these old tractor machines, great end montage , lmao.
Randomly found this feed, and as a Minnesotan born and bred these videos are by far some of the best and holsome videos I've ever seen. Hilarious, fun, and definitely some decent info.
caught the old Peg references, too funny, she's minnnt!
Whoa. I missed it. I need a time stamp this very second! I'm at work or I'd watch the video over again with a stethoscope lookin fer it
David I missed it as well
Where's the Peg reference?????
I remember as a very young boy,my dad had a tractor like this took apart in half.! I thought this is impossible it will never be whole again. But he did it..pex
The look on his face when he determined 😂 the octane level!!!!! I almost passed out from laughing so hard 😂😂😂 he looked completely Lost for a second!!!! LMAO 😂!!!
You are a mechanic on the same wavelength I am ,,,,, I have seen about 50% of your vids ,,,,, and I have to say your the best and you have taught this 51 yr old mechanic many shortcuts that work , and many things I didn’t know ,,, keep up the good work ,,,,, love the vids ,,, keep them coming ,,,god bless to you and your family ,,,,
Thank you sir!!
This was one of your BEST. A guy wasnt feeling so good until he watched this.
These videos are an invaluable library of mechanical knowhow. Not since Red Green have I learned so much about how to get and keep old cars and tractors running and driving. I feel confident now that a guy can go out in the dingweeds and bring home a fine vintage example of American craftsmanship in internal combustion. Point me to the next patient!
Perfect, a guy just cracked a cold snack!
Check the trans casting number or the rear axle to see if there is an N number. Also the ones I owned were 3 speed for 9N, 2 N and the 8 N was a 4 speed. Some you could find with a high / low aux trans. Another way is to look at the center hub on the rear axel and rim. Steiner Tractor has a video on the different rear axle / hub identification. Hope this gives you some information.
That flex at the ending tho!
It needs some twice pipes and chrome grill bug catchers with 400 inch sub wolfers under the butt holder.
That music video at the end made me laugh so hard I farted! LOL.
These Tractors! Are Wounderful!!
DAMN Derek you make me laugh so hard every time I watch a video omg your hilarious bud!!
Grew up in Duluth and the Iron Range accent and humor have me smiling ear to ear. So glad I came across this channel!!
I made be slow but I never laughed so hard in my life. And I have laughed a lot in my life. I need more cold snacks NOW
The BEST video on replacing and adjusting a carb on an ol' Ford. Thanks
that old tractor putted as smooth as aunt emma after a colon cleansing.
Ask and you shall receive! I was the one who asked you to get her running like a top and you sure as heck did it! Really loved the bit at the end, the wifey about lost it when you started popping wheelies. Great job as always!
Let me send a guy some "proper" GT 500 stickers!
The wife got me one of your hats for my birthday. Love it, obviously. Thanks for not only the entertainment, but for your knowledge. I learn every time I watch, it’s helping me with my truck restoration.
Surely you’ve seen the red green show, I swear you must be related to him. Lol
I watched Red Green for years. One of my favorite shows ever.
He doesn't seem to use duct tape that much though,,,Its only temporary unless it works !!!!
