Nice piece and a fantastic performance. Regardless, I find the double bell thing quite “gimmicky” and really unnecessary. Had the muted passages been played open, the piece would have sounded just fine. The mute could have been used for entire sections (on repetitions so that two bells wouldn’t be needed) with a very similar effect.
