Together with Christian Schmitt, Matthias Höfs produced a new setting of Wolf Kerschek's "Der Mond ist aufgegangen". With this evening song, which has accompanied so many people since childhood, Höfs would like to draw attention to a special circle of friends. These people do something for children suffering from incurable dementia. With imaginative campaigns, they have been collecting money for many years so that the little patients can be cared for in a special ward at the University Hospital in Hamburg-Eppendorf. Now Matthias Höfs and his friends have accomplished another highlight. With the collaboration of more than five dozen celebrities, they have succeeded in producing the cookbook "Buntes Huhn und Fetter Sträfling" - an inspiring work. Matthias Höfs can only say: „It simply tempts you to donate, because you can only get it with a donation.“

Eine sehr eindrückliche Komposition, die das abendliche Stimmungsbild des Matthias Claudius Liedes erlebbar werden lässt (Text und Melodie) und viele Farben in den Nachthimmel zaubert... Matthias Höfs und Christian Schmitt beeindrucken mal wieder aufs Neue in ihrer Art zu Musizieren und außergewöhnlich ihre Instrumente zu beherrschen. Vielen Dank!!! sagt Uwe
Sehr, sehr schön. Ich war total ergriffen, obwohl ich das Lied schon so oft gehört habe. Aber das hier ist eine außergewöhnliche und phantastische Version. Da könnte man eine Stecknadel fallen hören. Vielen Dank dafür.
So besonders macht es Sinn diesem Lied eine besondere Würde zu verleihen. Kostbar und zugleich Wundervolle Klangwelt.
Eine alte Weise auf so wunderschöne Art mit modernen Akkorden und Klängen zu bereichern, ohne es kitschig klingen zu lassen, ist meisterhaft. Großartig!

Matthias è pazzesco. La bocca rimane perfettamente ferma e rilassata come se lo strumento non vi fosse appoggiato. Sembra che per lui non esista sforzo o difficoltà alcuna.

Höfs used to call it Corno da Caccia but in a concert he referred to it as a "discant horn".
@@user-rn1lb8sx2c a cornet is a posthorn with valves. This is corno di caccia.
