  • We bought lapsang souchong smoked tea from Harney and Sons.
In addition to drinking it, we decided to tea smoke a brisket with it. We put equal parts tea, sugar and rice in an aluminum foil packet and put it in the smoker with the brisket. Watch us smoke the tea with the brisket and taste it to see how we did.

The first time I smelt this tea the only way I could describe it was a bushfire. It smells just like back burning season down here in Australia.

It's a very interesting flavor profile for sure. My first sip was like what on earth and then my brain and tongue adjusted to it and I enjoyed it. It isn't my favorite flavor profile but it could definitely be worse. My sister likes Yorkshire breakfast tea and I don't like that at all -- way too strong. It's like a punch in the face. Earl Grey is fine but not every day. 100% pure Ceylon brewed exactly 2 minutes is my favorite tea.

Definitely an acquired taste. Makes me think of burnt marshmallows.

I figured you must like Lapland souchong. I just rubbed it on a chuck roast the other day and that was good too

You can use the Harney and Sons linked in the description. We find that lapsang souchong tastes like a campfire. We have several more videos on lapsand souchong that you might enjoy, each with a link in the description below the video
