- Ibrox (the home of Rangers Football Club) and Netherdale (the home of Gala Fairydean Rovers Football Club) both share something very special! Their stadiums are unique in their own amazing ways!
In this video I explored the home of Gala Fairydean Rovers Football Club. I also watched them play vs. Kelty Hearts in a Scottish Lowland League football match! Non League football is the best!
It's my second football match in a week and Kelty Hearts were involved in both!

Really enjoying your videos. I’m a Glaswegian and it’s good to see a young English lad promoting the lower reaches of the Scottish leagues.
Thanks for watching! Really glad you enjoy these videos. More coming soon!
I’ve asked for all notifications. Very interesting information, thanks .
@@thomasseery7570 ah legend cheers!
You’re welcome
Very interesting mate. Never knew that wee snippet of info about Rangers and Gala's stands. 👍
Cheers again!
Great wee video, Gala are a great club, ran by great people who put in 100% comittment. I played for them for 4 years and loved every minute of it. We just got got pipped for Scottish league by Ross County and Inverness Caley Thistle. Good Luck the Fairydean.
Yes they are! Nice to hear you played for them too!
A ground I've never been to, I'll need to visit. Love the main stand and looks a nice tidy ground.
Yeah I definitely recommend!
That bench seating in the main stand looks comfortable...nice soundtrack today...
Cheers! Yeah the music was good for this one
I was there a couple of years ago, the very kind owner let us in the clubhouse and kindly gave us a sticker and pin badge. We stayed in the outside of Galashiels (assumed you went there) lovely club and as Wrexham fans we have a soft spot for gala. When we went there the new dugouts were being built, was waiting for this video to come out 👊
I also remember the man telling us about the stadium and when they played in a Scottish cup game.
PS where have you been around the area of Galashiels?
Ah nice mate! Yeah they're a great club! I didn't get the chance to explore Galashiels the town but I'm sure I will one day!
Brilliant info as usual very interesting with my team Rangers and Gala
Cheers again Ross!
As I’ve said before I think it’s great these clubs are giving you access, I’ve only ever seen content that benefits and highlights these clubs well done 👏🏻 👏🏻
Thanks! I'm glad they give me access to!

I’m sure I heard you say in this video that they are contacting you as well so your obviously doing something right 👍
Gala Fairydean Rovers - best club name in football. They need to get promoted so I can manage them in Football Manager. (Your one-man pitch invasion at the end was epic. Cheers!)
Excellent, really enjoyed that. Superb advert for Scottish lower league football 👍
Thanks, much appreciated! Lower league Scottish football is class!
I very much appreciate these Blogs which are very interesting. The style of your presentation is first class. You get around in which Kelty Hearts are likely hoping you will attend every match being that you appear to be their lucky mascot. The small details make it fun, such as showing the Media Pass and receiving Lentil Soup as refreshments in which the Referee receives a presentation. It is great that you are visiting the smaller Clubs such as Gala Fairydean and giving them some well-deserved publicity. Trying to guess which Club you will visit next, makes it interesting. My hope is that you will receive more Subscribers. Keep up the good work !!
Thanks David, I'm glad you find the different elements of the video interesting. I've got LOADS planned in December!
Hi Sam... Once again you give us another killer video.👌 Excellent trivia about the stands.. Cheers again Craig 👍😁👍
Legend, cheers Craig!
Another really great video and really informative too. You always come across so well, very engaging and obviously really interested in Scottish football. Finally as a massive Jags fan thanks for your Partick Thistle video. Only 1 team in Glasgow ! Keep up the great work you do big regards Alan.
Thanks again! Really appreciate that. More videos coming soon :)
Great video once again, and i never knew about Gala's stand, you learn something new every day. lol
Glad you enjoyed it!
Your weather in Scotland was simply amazing. Back when I went to my first Highland Games in Atlanta, there was a member of the extended royal family and he opened his address with “Could anyone tell me what that yellow orb in the sky is? I’ve never seen it before.”
Haha!
I used to play for gala fairdean. Moved to Galashiels at 3 from Glasgow. Went to fairdean after tweedbank thistle. Nice to see old memories 👏🙏🫶🏴
Great video! I used to play for their junior team and I used to go to there games before COVID
It’s great to see your channel doing so well! 👍
Thank you! 😁
Great to see you at another game season time I have been watching you when you when to game ⚽️⚽️⚽️
Thanks mate!
@@FootyAdventures no thank you
Excellent vid as always, keep them coming.
Thanks, will do! Got loads coming throughout December!
Cheers dude 🥃
Lentil soup is magic on a cold night 🇬🇧🏴⚽
So good!
My sister makes the soup
Although this was filmed a while ago it’s great to see you at the place that I play my football
The snood looked like it kept you warm! Great video 👍🏼
Cheers man :)
I really enjoy your videos, very honest and opinionated with a few facts for good measure.
I'm enjoying your videos of the lower Leagues (Junior Football Leagues) in Scotland. There are plenty of clubs with a rich history that go under the radar, so it's great to see them getting some exposure to football fans far and wide.
It would be fantastic if you could possibly pay a wee visit to my local Junior team Rutherglen Glencairn, a small club with a big history.
Thanks for another great video, keep them coming please 👍
Glad you think so! I'll add them to the list, so hopefully I can visit them soon :)
@@FootyAdventures
Good stuff bro, love the content, always entertaining and educational.
Liking the different football teams your visiting , giving Scottish football good view instead of people calling a pub league.
The standard of Non League Scottish football is actually way better than a lot of people think! Glad you enjoyed mate
Been playing on the Gala pitch for years now and never knew about that. Crazy.
They got a mention in the old Tennents lager advert . The guy shouting super Gala Fairydean , you see him watching them in the telly!
Only been to Gala once, it was freezing, snow coming in sideways from the open side...we sheltered in the wheelchair section, it was epic...game finished 0-0.
Haha! The freezing ones are always bore draws! But that's why we love the beautiful game! Cheers for watching
It's good to see football played in what is essentially Rugby country.
I amazed that when theire is a strip colour clash that the home team don't change as they would be able to have other strips there so would be easier to change
Great video again. Very interesting
Cheers! Much appreciated!
Part of aberdeen's main stand is a listed building not sure if its a or b but its definitely listed
Gala 😍😍😍 brought you there in the early days
Hope you enjoyed! They're a great club!
Not far from there is the club Peebles Rovers, it has a very interesting history in that they were in the Scottish Football League over 100 years ago and their stand is very unique and very old. You really should do a video on them and their famous history
Consider them added to the list!
Good to see you going round some of the non league venues.....gala is a bit of a football outpost, you're deep in rugby country there.
Yeah true. Some of the people at the club were telling me the pool to pick from is a lot smaller than other areas becuase of the love of rugby in the area!
I remember going there with North Shields when ferrydene was just called gala fairydean but It was before the amalgamation now Gala fairydean Rovers we drew 1-1 on the day. We played them back at Shields and we drew 1-1 Again.
I've a feeling part of parkhead is listed.
I know at ibrox the main stand was encapsulated with the current extra tier ,not sure about the parkhead one.
It wouldn't surprise me if Celtic park had part that was listed too but I believe it's just Rangers and Gala. Thanks for watching mate! Much appreciated
I also know wee Darren aka DazzaT. Shame, I remember him having his stroke, and his coma.. but that hasn't stopped the little guy, massive hibs fan. Doing very well for himself! I know him well!
another great video when Scotland opens up I will cross the border & do some of these lower league games it looks old school football bringing the community together maybe the bigger club fans ie rangers & Celtic fans should go a couple of games these clubs will need a lot of financial help when the
grounds reopen it would be sad if any went bust
Yeah you should definitely get along to a few of the smaller grounds!
Great vid mate
Watp 🇬🇧
Cheers for watching again mate!
Good vids😃
Ibrox is category B listed so Fairydean have only A listed Stadium!
Doesn't quite kill video title...
What are the music in this video?
Im a falkirm fam but what do u think the falkirk vs rangers score will be?
It'll probably end around 5-0!
@@FootyAdventures close
I've played there

No worries mate!

R u a Kelty Hearts fan?
No I'm a liverpool fan but really enjoy watching Kelty play
By the looks of the rust on the rebars, the stand wont be there for much longer.........
I've scored two goals there 💙
Nice... it's a cool ground!
@@FootyAdventures sure is. Definitely not what I was expecting for the 2nd round of the U14s Scottish Cup

Fantastic video it's a ground I would never have visited myself.
The Scottish borders are more
Rugby Union country in Scotland than football country you could say
The Scottish Borders are the heartland of Scottish Rugby Union like The West of Scotland is for Scottish football.
Gala R.F.C also play at Netherdale
The Border Reivers also ued to use
Netherdale when they used to play in
The The Celtic League now the
Pro 14 before they where merged with
Edinburgh Rugby for financial reasons.
In 1999 Uruguay played Spain
there in The Rugby Union World Cup
& it has also apparently hosted International Rugby League.
Reivers where basically Raiders that used to cross in to England & steal cattle & then return across the border in to Scotland.
When I was born
Jim Leighton's Mum was The Midwife
that is the only football connection I have sadly.
When fans are allowed back in to Stadiums in Scotland without restrictions I plan on going to a
Saint Johnstone home game first.
You should vist Largs Thistle
The great , great , great Grandson of
The father of Brazilian football Charles Miller is a fan according to a newspaper article I was reading
Charles Miller 's father was originally from Fairly just put the road from Largs before he immigrated to
Sao Paulo Charles Miller's Mum being half English half Brazil
Charles Miller was sent to Southampton to study when studying he played for & against Southampton Saint Marry's now Southampton F.C & also for Corinthians now Corinthians Casuals when he went back to Brazil he was gifted 2 football's to take with him before he left England he played a small part in forming The Brazilian club Corinthians zpaulista buy suggesting they use the name for there new club there is a lot more to the story but myb you can use the vist to Largs Thistle as away of telling the full story.
Us Scots played a big part in bring the game to Brazil , Argentina & Russia.
Hi Alan, thanks for watching as ever! Yeah it's definitely rugby country down there. The chairman was telling me the pool of players to pick from is a lot smaller because a lot of people there prefer rugby! Good to know that about Charles Miller. There's an Argentinian father of football too I believe?
@@FootyAdventures
The Father of Argentine football is considered to be
Alexander Watson Hutton
I have included this link to a
Glasgow Evening Times Article about the subject.
Alexander Watson Hutton
Was from The Glasgow & educated in Edinburgh he was a
School Teacher how believed that sport was an essential part of education & did everything he could to promote Sports in general & football in particular to The Argentine people.
www.google.com/amp/s/www.glasgowtimes.co.uk/news/18587878.amp/
The Australian National Anthem was also wrighten buy a Scottish born School Teacher apparently.
