When I was 18, my parents kicked me out. I had no food so I sold all of my comics- made $50 bucks on them. But that was enough to buy bread, baloney, keep my tummy full, apply for a job, save up, buy a car, go back to school and now today, despite some serious bumps along the way, I am still alive and built a house during the pandemic that's now worth about one million (Canadian) bucks. I guess that's okay for where I started from. Spiderman was a good role model for me. THANK YOU for bringing these versions of him to life again.
Just want to say, thank you for sharing such sensitives topics. Been going through some tough times, and people like you - who managed to hold on even in the darkest times, give me the strength to keep going. Both spider-man and you are amazing role models! Cheers

And with typing such an honest comment here, I'm sure that you've been shining light for people around you. I'm really sorry for what happened in your past, but I'm also thankful that you became a role model for many.
There are some tragedies Spider-Man went through that I’m willing to accept, some I think should be scratched altogether. Paul is the prime example of what shouldn’t happen. The girl who idolized Spider-Man in the cold and the boy who saved his hero from a gun are prime examples of tragedies that are worth keeping, especially since they’re both learning experiences, but that’s also a coincidence: The girl showed Spider-Man that he should watch how much and how high he soars above - He’d passed over her many times because he didn’t realize how infrequently he’d been looking below him as a hero. This boy shows Spider-Man that inspiration and being a hero is a double-edged sword, in this context - The very kind of person Peter swore to save as Spider-Man got shot because his hero inspired him to be like Spider-Man, and it eventually cost him his life - But Spider-Man can’t let that deter him, the boy’s comic showed that, or he stops being a hero. It’s that and more.
Now THIS is how tragic Spider-man tales should be done. Not just by making his life miserable, (I'M LOOKING AT YOU PAUL), but by making him feel like he's failed as a hero, only for him to go back into hero work with just as much, if not more, vigor.
And to realize Peter Parker actually has done a lot of good. As horrible as that experience was, he can learn from it and do better next time. In the end it’s a phase change in the universe. It’s not as solid as people believe.
I agree. More often than not spiderman comics have a lot of tragedy, but there is a difference between a good tragedy, that leaves the reader with an important message, and a bad tragedy, one that leaves you empty and with nothing to look up to. Stories like this one, do give you something, it is sad and shows you who vulnerable peter is and how he is not able to do everything, but at the same time it shows the good. It shows how spiderman can inspire others to do good, even if it is risky.
Honestly, that's why Spider-Man is the best of the Marvel universe. He can't help but think about the little people. Friends, family, strangers, even the villains he snarks at he doesn't always hate. Oh sure, he could be WAY more excessive, more strength behind his punches. But he holds back. Because he's really just a guy who got a twist of fate that gave him powers, and despite all of the enemies, risks, and hate, he chose to be good, not some god or angel of vengeance like the Punisher. And despite the tragedy....the kid wanted him to know he made that call to protect him. Inspiration from a hero, that led to a tragedy....god I couldn't imagine being in Peter's shoes that day, holding the homemade comic book. Must've felt like the Rhino crushing him. But ultimately....the Kid was right. The phrase "calculus of war" got thrown around in Mass Effect, but if I could help save a superhero from a potentially fatal wound, I would. They would save countless more lives. Five years, paying attention, inspired by a man just trying to do the right thing.....that doesn't make the sacrifice right necessarily, but a just one.
Just when you thought comics couldn't make you cry, Mullet Man comes along. This is a great story, and really shows that there's a lot more people who like Spider-Man than people who hate him within these comics.
This is really beautiful. I love the fact that Danny Elfman's Spiderman music played as Peter flipped the pages of the comic book, it just made it more emotional and hopeful.
Even though he has super powers, Spider-man is so human and makes mistakes like we all do. That's why he's my favorite superhero, he always fights to overcome the odds and help however he can. He's such a relatable character.
Man... I think of all of these stories, with kids who have cancer and collect Spider-Man newspapers. This one. This one is the saddest and most heartwarming story of all of them. Probably of all of 900 issues since Spidey was created.
damn I shed a tear from this. This is a perfect representation that you can't always have it all no matter how hard you try, you'll always end up making mistakes and you got to learn how to move on from it
Wow, that's a very good story. Lots of stories where people close to Peter get hurt, but I like seeing how he handles a civilian casualty. This is a story every crime fighter should have at least one of.
I mean, yeah, Spiderman is all about suffering these days, but that makes him show his more human side. He is no super soldier, no flamboyant multimillionaire, no god... He is just a smart guy with a heart of gold.
Stories like this are why i always thought of spider-man as marvels superman. And no i am not talking about powers, but the message he represents. As strong as he is, he can't save everyone, only those in his reach, and it kills him inside. But his willingness to stand back up, and try again inspires those who see him, who sees the perseverance, and strength of character. As the famous quote goes, "with great power comes great responsibility".

" Spider-Man is the greatest hero and always does what's right. He doesn't care about the odds, or how impossible the fight. He isn't always perfect, and isn't always smart. But Spidey knows i have his back, because i listen to my heart. Even if he falls, he always get back on his feet. He's taught me how to be a hero, and to never accept defeated. So when im feeling sad, and i dont know what to do... I close my eyes and say outload: *What Would Spider-Man Do?* "
This comic is everything I think Spider-Man should be. He always gets back up, no matter how big the threat is, or how many people are against him. He’s always striving to do the right thing, to improve himself, and make others happy. That’s exactly why I think Spider-Man might be the best fictional hero ever.
I was playing this video for myself, didn’t realize my girlfriend was paying even the slightest bit of attention, but when it was over, she expressed how sad it was. What a touching story
In other people’s eyes Spider-Man is just another marvel character but to us he’s a hero that does whatever he can do help others even if there’s nothing out the for him, thank you mullet man and thank you Stan lee
I guess the main reason why the authors bully spiderman, is that he’s one of the most moral and ethical superheroes, and it would be boring to keep watching him having the best day ever, everyday, just like how it would be interesting to see someone like punisher actually sympathize with a criminal for once, it would be interesting to see spiderman in a position that challenges his morals
He can't save everyone but he will always try issues like these always bring tears and they are some of my favorite because unlike bigger arcs with a villain he has to stop these smaller stories really get to the core of the character in a really interesting way we don't see enough of
Got me tearing up on the bus heading to New York. God damn I love comics, especially spider man. One of my fav heroes, would watch all his shows and play all the games. This story just hit different. I was six years old into spider man that’s when the first spider man movie came out for me. Great story.
This is enough to make a man cry. Spiderman trying his best to save everyone and if he cant he blames him self on it and its enough to make everyone emotional
In my opinion, this is the kind of Spiderman I want to see adapted to live-action. One where he can't save people. Have it from the perspective of a random bystander who got hurt.
Spiderman is always in a cycle of saving people everyday and getting motivated from the people he couldn't save to help more people. His life can be described the way he swings with his webs across buildings.
this is what makes Spider-Man one of the greatest heroes. he doesn't do it to be famous or to get rich. he does it to help people regardless of the reason why. he took what happened to his uncle Ben and decided to use his powers to stop others from going through what he did. while I like the Avengers, they don't understand that their powers come with huge responsibilities
Damn it. As someone who's not used to cry, I felt the humidity around my eyes near the end when Peter got the comicbook in his hands at the cemetery. That was well done.
Bruh, I started crying so much from the comic at the end… “I close my eyes and think… “What would Spider-Man do?”” is such a heart wrenching line… Thank you for the amazing narration and bringing this comic to life!
Spiderman is Marvels superman A super being who has gone through so much, but yet never turns, never gives up. These two icons of the undying will pf humanity to help as much as you can are their strongest power. They could be weakened, get killed, turned evil. But as long as the true meaning of their power is alive, they are immortal. When you see people saying who would win, or something awful a editor did. Just remember two things What would spider man do And the American way
Yet Spidey is a Batman fan and i do not kidding you DC is canon to the Marvel universe in form of Comics and Peter Parker aka Spiderman is a huge Batman fan

And well, not all of us has been cheated on, or want to watch an inspiring piece of comic turning into some bullcrap Korean love drama (no hate to Korean films tho)
We could really do with a spider-man in this world.
Or a Superman, I'd take either tbh or even both.
@@marcjustinpascasio9955 they'd both be heckled and demonized by some VERY powerful and evil people and the woke mob. Vigilantism is also illegal.
I think what makes Spiderman a hero is that he never gives up even when dealing with stuff in his life or trying to save people or even having trouble with mental health like in Spiderman 2 which I'm currently dealing with mental health issues
Nice touch including the Danny Elfman score toward the end.
And this is why I love Spider-Man and why I think he is the best superhero ever ❤
I close my eyes and say outload:
*What Would Spider-Man Do?* "
This comic is everything I think Spider-Man should be.
He always gets back up, no matter how big the threat is, or how many people are against him. He’s always striving to do the right thing, to improve himself, and make others happy.
That’s exactly why I think Spider-Man might be the best fictional hero ever.
Bro I just got goosebumps I swear that was so sad but mullet man’s story telling was amazing
Writers trying to NOT fuck up spider-man's life challenge (impossible)
I was playing this video for myself, didn’t realize my girlfriend was paying even the slightest bit of attention, but when it was over, she expressed how sad it was.
What a touching story
Man puts the legendary spider-man theme at the end for that extra kick. Had me on the verge of tears man. No joke.
In other people’s eyes Spider-Man is just another marvel character but to us he’s a hero that does whatever he can do help others even if there’s nothing out the for him, thank you mullet man and thank you Stan lee
Honestly, Paul wasn't an attack on Spider-Man, Paul was an attack on all of us.
The hardest part of being a hero, you cant save everyone but still save the most you can.
Spiderman is the best of us, not because he can lift the most or punch the hardest, but because of what he inspires in all of us.
The video was already sad as it is but THEN HE STARTED PLAYING THE SAD DANNY ELFMAN MUSIC. Dialed up the sadness by 10.
This even brought a tear to my eye. Its so beautiful and so sad idk. Man.
Dude, stop making me cry. Great story as always.
Spider-Man can’t save everyone yet he tries to anyway. That’s what makes him the best superhero.
That kid knows way more Spider-Man than the editors do.
DUDE YOU HAD TO PUT THAT MUSIC AND GAVE ME CHILLS
Spider man needs to get something in a comic that actually will be good the movie is did it went on the comics?
The 'responsibility' theme at the end got me really emotional!
I started crying at the end damn it
Not going to lie, I cried listening to this.
Spiderman is always in a cycle of saving people everyday and getting motivated from the people he couldn't save to help more people.
His life can be described the way he swings with his webs across buildings.
Artists try not to make Spider Man suffer any% speedrun World Record (Difficulty impossible)
Back when spiderman comics had heart
this is what makes Spider-Man one of the greatest heroes. he doesn't do it to be famous or to get rich. he does it to help people regardless of the reason why. he took what happened to his uncle Ben and decided to use his powers to stop others from going through what he did. while I like the Avengers, they don't understand that their powers come with huge responsibilities
Not one of the greatest, THE greatest superhero of all time.
@@ElyonGibborright alongside batman and superman.
Peter Parker. Best character ever created, in my opinion.
writers trying not to torture Peter challenge (level impossible)
peter as a man can be a bit of a fool but yes, he taught us like he taught Tommy.
Damn, why can't Marvel ever give Peter at least one happy story?
and when they do they end up destorying it the next issuse
That kid had some mad drawing skills tho.
wullet woman has returned back to mullet man
Marvel: if we aren’t making mid stories now, we’re making sure spiderman never finds true peace.
"and then there's paul..." Bro Roasted Paul so hard with just 4 words
Damn it. As someone who's not used to cry, I felt the humidity around my eyes near the end when Peter got the comicbook in his hands at the cemetery. That was well done.
Bruh, I started crying so much from the comic at the end… “I close my eyes and think… “What would Spider-Man do?”” is such a heart wrenching line…
Thank you for the amazing narration and bringing this comic to life!
"...and then there's Paul."
No truer words have been said.
Man this story really got me emotional plus your voice to top the narration❤
Spiderman is Marvels superman
A super being who has gone through so much, but yet never turns, never gives up.
These two icons of the undying will pf humanity to help as much as you can are their strongest power. They could be weakened, get killed, turned evil. But as long as the true meaning of their power is alive, they are immortal.
When you see people saying who would win, or something awful a editor did. Just remember two things
What would spider man do
And the American way
What is the american way?
Yet Spidey is a Batman fan and i do not kidding you DC is canon to the Marvel universe in form of Comics and Peter Parker aka Spiderman is a huge Batman fan
@@kevinbaumhoer7359 dude, fanfics arent cannon no matter how much you want yours to be 🤦♂️
@@youtubestudiosucks978 yes i know Disney fa fic is not canon
@@youtubestudiosucks978 TBF, One of Spider-Man's most legendary jokes is quoting "I'm Batman" to guy he scared shitless
Could Marvel please give Spider-Man a break already?
Guy needs a hug.
For some reason your voice has this affect on me. I am not much of a cryer, and I have been told that I don't have much emotion but whenever I listen to you talk about a sad comic my eyes tear up, and I thank you for that.
''appreciation'' from spider-man 2 is just the cherry of the sundae that was this vid
Put a literal tear in my eye😢
Spider mans true power is the resolve to not give up.
I would genuinely love a small story like this in the games or movies
that part with the raimi theme I cried
That last part was very hopeful but the theme being played made me cry.😢
“…and then there’s Paul”
Absolutely hilarious
i love your videos man keep doing what you are doing
If real life Twitter was in this story then there would be someone that would say "WhAt If ThEy DiDnT wAnNa Be SaVeD"
This feels like a love letter to Spiderman
God damn the amount of times Spiderman comics made me cry I wouldn't be able to so on two hands. Damn this a emotional rollercoaster
"What Would Spider-Man Do?" always messes me up.
Spider-Man: Breathes
Marvel: "And I took that personally"
Tommy would make a great side kick.
