Nine noble families wage war against each other in order to gain control over the mythical land of Westeros. Meanwhile, a force is rising after millenniums and threatens the existence of living men.
Game of Thrones is an American fantasy drama television series created by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss for HBO. It is an adaptation of A Song of Ice and Fire, a series of fantasy novels by George R. R. Martin, the first of which is A Game of Thrones. The show was shot in the United Kingdom, Canada, Croatia, Iceland, Malta, Morocco, and Spain. It premiered on HBO in the United States on April 17, 2011, and concluded on May 19, 2019, with 73 episodes broadcast over eight seasons.
Set on the fictional continents of Westeros and Essos, Game of Thrones has a large ensemble cast and follows several story arcs throughout the course of the show. The first major arc concerns the Iron Throne of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros through a web of political conflicts among the noble families either vying to claim the throne or fighting for independence from whoever sits on it. A second focuses on the last descendant of the realm's deposed ruling dynasty, who has been exiled to Essos and is plotting to return and reclaim the throne. The third follows the Night's Watch, a military order defending the realm against threats from beyond Westeros's northern border.
Game of Thrones attracted a record viewership on HBO and has a broad, active, and international fan base. Critics have praised the series for its acting, complex characters, story, scope, and production values, although its frequent use of nudity and violence (including sexual violence) has been subject to criticism. The final season received significant critical backlash for its reduced length and creative decisions, with many considering it a disappointing conclusion. The series received 59 Primetime Emmy Awards, the most by a drama series, including Outstanding Drama Series in 2015, 2016, 2018 and 2019. Its other awards and nominations include three Hugo Awards for Best Dramatic Presentation, a Peabody Award, and five nominations for the Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series - Drama. Many critics and publications have named the show as one of the best television series of all time.
A prequel series, House of the Dragon, premiered on HBO in 2022.

So he probably knew that it wasn't her being abducted but her just running off with heir to the kingdom. She was a wild young woman and he knew that more than Ned did. The characters are OBVIOUSLY aged up in the show for modern conventions sake. You can’t be having kids having sex when their 14 years old in the show. And it’s more natural for characters to be much older like Pod, Robb, Margaery, Jon snow, Ned, Catleyn, and some others as they just fit naturally to be older for modern conventions.
Jon is 14 years old in the first book and Dany is 13 years old and she has sex with Khal Drogo whose in his 30s in the book in the first few chapters with intense foreplay, you can’t show that in ANY show EVER as even an adult show like Game of Thrones, and have literal kids having sex. That would be absolutely insane to even THINK about portraying on public TV or in ANY film period!
And so Jon and Dany are BOTH 17 in the start of the show which fits naturally for modern conventions and perceptions on how people are supposed to be in age when being doing all those adult activities like having sex.

It's totally different! 🤓"
Not to mention the easy to fix differences like hair colours, skin tones and eye colours that could have easily been fixed using props, wigs, makeup, cgi or hell, hiring other actors.
you can't be mad at the casting of the Velaryons then because the actors arent gonna look white no matter what you do. So you might want to come up with a different argument there

@@stuffynosepatrol it's like I picture a room with red walls and a green lamp. The guy who responded to you gets the red walls right but for some reason makes the lamp orange. You then try to adapt the same room but get the walls green instead of red. It's a noticeable difference so don't try to make it seem like it's on the same league. That being said I really wanted them to get the character details in got right as well, two wrongs don't make it right.

@@buttovelli9198 not really, its more like there is a room with red walls and a green lamp that has been smashed to pieces and is otherwise ugly af. I (even though Im not the one adapting this tv show) adapt the same room but the walls are green instead of red. They (even though they are not the one adapting the tv show either) adapt the room but the walls are red and the green lamp is no longer broken or ugly. They are both in the same league, they are both massive changes.
My point is that aesthetic changes dont matter, but its hypocritical to only get mad over a character having a different race from what they have in the books while ignoring the equally or much more glaring differences in other character designs. I find it suspicious when people are willing to ignore every single other change but for some reason the race change is the only thing that matters to them, it just screams racism to me.

Daenerys was too old for the role. I also did not buy her helplessness and fragility in the beginning. Emilia Clarke was fine for the older, strong Daenerys, but she look like a mature woman playing an immature girl in the beginning. Now, this isn't 1994, at least not in a good way, but they could have found a more fragile looking actress who, at the center of the series, showed a real progression towards an insane megalomaniac.
