- In this video, I take out a *BORROWED* BMW F650GS DAKAR out to the woods to see how she does with no pavement under her. Ths is not an in depth dirt review and there won't be any damaging of this motorcycle!
Thank you for watching. Please watch, comment, and subscribe! - Zábava
Recently was lucky to be offered a Dakar at a very good price after riding a little 200cc roadbike for years! And wow what a difference in stability, torque, handling, comfort. And loving the off-road capability of course.
wich was your 200cc bike?
{I have no Idea..." Now that must be the understatement of the century
Those bikes were highly capable for their day. Classic bike!
It really is a nice bike. I've still got it at my house in fact, so maybe I'll take it out again. I got nothing going on tomorrow... :)
@@FloridaTwoWheelAdventures Heck yeah. Might as well have some fun. 👍
@@pinkiewerewolfthey still are and.. and a cult classic and the original Rotax is unstoppable
They are a cult favorite now... there are a few fb groups and the single rotax is the best made.. love my Dakar
cool concepts seat cover, makes a world of difference! Great video, love my dakar , ride it more than my HD and ducati
Stock seat was torturous. I replaced with a kit from Seat Concepts, and that saved my a$$.
Windscreen: That's way too large of a screen for Florida. I'm in Korea, and riding in summer is like 5 am to 11 am with NO windscreen. Yes, it's cold in winter, but remember, rice is grown here and it's hella humid in summer...and hot. For Korean winters that screen would be perfect.
I ride with a friend who's on a Honda dual sport, a 250. THAT'S an offroad bike. This 650 Dakar is fine, but you should ride with a friend (I'm 62, so take that with a grain...I'd want to ride with a friend if were on the 250, I think). I had to lift it off a steep grade once, and it was very, very hard. Flat ground is fine, but it seems wayyy worse when you're lifting up a hill.
Lots of brake dive on these. someone else mentioned Race Tech, and I concur. I installed Ricor Emulators, and damn! What a difference. Great on and off road.
Rear shock should be re-sprung if you two-up or like to tour at all.
Fork seals need replaced at the moment.
Just replaced water pump splines, shaft, seals, impeller...WP & fork seals are common problems, but this Rotax is a really great motor. Love this motor.
2005 Dakar
Thanks for the video, any idea on make of windshield and seat cover?
Race Tech Gold Valve Emulators with front/rear springs for your weight makes a huge improvement. 400lbs. AirFlow seat cover, mine is great for summer, saves the seat. What is yours? Mine is a Seat Concepts, love it.
Therr are not many Dakar videos is why.
You can pick one of these up for a song these days now. You could have easily taken it through those puddles and taken it on some legitimate off road terrain.
Soooo, whats the seat?
I’m trying to figure out your accent. I’m thinking you grew up north-central USA or wherever Fortnite lives then spent a while in Florida. Am I right?
Alternative option: you’re a big Norm MacDonald fan
That’s pretty good. I am a big Norm McDonald fan. I was born and raised in the far northern part of New York State (about 45 minutes from Ottawa Canada) but I’ve lived in Florida more than 30 years. Good ear bud!
well there is question already answered by 100,000 owners.
it must have different sprockets than oryginal - it should has less rpm @60mph and its v-max is ~105mph
It very well could have been updated with different sprockets. Do you know the stock numbers?
@@FloridaTwoWheelAdventures stock is 16 / 47
I’ll give you $600, Jim!
Hey now! I threw in a fork seal replacement. Don’t be undercutting me like that! 😂
"Thats what she said"
