      I have two 20s and a 22" Z. Also the Mel Lewis 22". The Mel has more nuance and subtlety, but those 55 year old Zildjians have that classic, spot on irreducible sound.

    That Agop Trash Hit was one of the coolest sounding cymbals I've heard in a while, and that mean old tin pie sounds pretty darn good, too. Your playing is fantastic!

    Great video, Carter -- thanks for taking the time to put these up. I appreciate that your don't try to play the same thing in the same spot on each ride, but, as far as I can tell, let the ride bring up what it will for you as a player. It's a great window into how a practiced drummer with great feel approaches gear.
    Obviously every ride has its own personality, but as I have started recording more I've found that I really like thinner, bigger rides and smaller, thicker rides.
    Also, for those of you who haven't gotten it yes, check out Carter's book! I've been spending all week on the first page...

    I just bought the 26" 30th Anniversary ride. Mine is around 3250g, and it is THE most inspiring cymbal to play. You could never describe it as a multi-purpose ride, but wow! Nothing else like it, with that fiery, smokey roaring wash. Amazing.

    I enjoy how you use the potetial of a ride cymbal to the maximum :)
    As a die hard Agop man (especially Turk and Special Edition models) I liked the sound of every piece. And that Crazy Chinese ride sounded ridiculous crazy!

      I got mine at Memphis Drum Shop 2 years ago. Its my favorite cymbal. Every time I walk by it I have to stop and play it
      And I do believe they have 1 or 2 in stock, or did a month or so ago.

    I'll be honest, I just subscribed because I now consider you one of my drum idols 😂. I too have a lot of 50's-70's Zildjian. My favorite is my 22 60's Medium weight ride similar to what you have here too! I have a 50's 22 Light Ride but to washy for me.

    I’m a big signature fan, but the Matt Chamberlin and 26” 30 Anniversary rides were also stand outs to me. Any cymbal you play sounds good!

      @@carrotsoup7264 Zultan cymbals are made by Turkish for Thomann. They are better than Sabian B8, Paiste PST line and Zildjian S, ZHT, ZXT and ZBT, because they are made of b20 alloy

    Man, I can't tell you how bummed I am at the vintage Zildjian because I was thinking these were all Istanbul and I wasn't watching the screen, but when I heard it I instantly ran back to see what it was.
    Istanbul is my favorite modern cymbal maker, but I'm realizing we're never going to beat those 50s/60s Zildjians.

    I got the 22" med sig and 22" 30th but I'm thinking of selling the 30th. it just seems to abrasive in a live setting and the med sig covers just about everything I need.

    Fantastic and helpful in every way Carter! What is the weight of the 17" Trad Dark Crash you're playing? Too bad the modern day Zildjians don't sound as sweet as the 22" A you're playing...... bummer there! The 22" Medium Signature is soooo good! Please let me know when you're ready to part with your Matt C, it's the best for me! 23" Joey is very smooth and reminds me a bit like my 22" Mel...... 23" Sig is sweet and Jazzy! I've got a Meinl 26 that is my most favorite cymbal, a bit darker than yours, and you gotta love that BIG wobble! That last Tin is quite a find and has a very interesting shape, any ideas about it Carter, maybe Chinese? Thanks and Blessings!

    Oh man, that tin antique! Whaaaat the.... That thing sounds amazing. Not likely to come across that sound again anytime soon, nice score. I was expecting more, well, ‘tinny’ - but it has a nice stick and a warm crash like a fine thin Turkish bronze. Who knew? Lol, you probably just set the tin cymbal market afire, hijinks and price-gouging will ensue.

      B20 is named for the 20% tin content cymbals that people call tinny usually are b10 or b8 with less tin ironically, murat diril even uses b27
