carwow could you please review the hatchback version of the Skoda superb, thanks have a great day and this is an excellent review
That 280hp sleeper level engine tho!
6:33 Helo stalker no bio dizel gazole
lots of knee room and umbrellas in the doors. basically a rolls Royce phantom extended wheelbase
without the luxury and the brand
Farina Marcina oh really?
6:38 I missed you chewbacca..
Gildas Gautier Good spot! May the force be with you
ha ha ha...
Exactly! hehe
I thought i was the only one that saw that 😂😂😂😂
Was waiting for this, it happened, I was not disappointed
This car is the antidote to all these horrid SUVs that everybody is buyng these days.
Exactly why I bought mine.
Suvs arent bad
Yep same here. I’ve just ordered one for a company car. Had a VW Passat prior truly awful car.
only thing about estate vs suvs is that suvs can gain room without getting so long. Since I dont care about having a sporty drive, I rather get room without gaining so much length which can make maneuvering stressful in small parking lots in the city.
@@matty6848 what specifically didn't you like? I'm looking at used wagon options and have heard of VW reliability problems
Skoda internal meeting:
[Engineer 1] How can we improve this car?
[Engineer 2] Get VW to stop being stingy with parts so we can actually make the car we wanted.
[Engineer 1] _But then who would buy the Passat?_ 🤔
...which is actually the sad truth.
I won’t have a Passat again. Just got rid of my company car Passat after 4 years, it spent more time in the garage than on the road.
I'm surprised they did not give you a laurin and klement version
I have L&K Superb Combi and it has the best price/value... power heated and ventilated and massage leather seats... adaptive CC... huge cargo space... BMW Audi or MB with those specs would cost 60 - 80k eur... and superb "only" 45
@@TTdexter i just bought myself 2014 l&k, what year is yours?
Although I'm not buying a new car soon, I'm absolutely addicted to Mat's reviews. Even when he was reviewing for carbuyer, he did the best ones. Cheers from Portugal.
Whoa, literally the only other car with an umbrella in their doors is a rolls royce
Pretty decent wagon if you only need the basics. I really like its look, just don't get it in red o_o
It's hardly basic in top of the range model...
It looks decent in red too, but only if you take the Sportline-model with black accents, big wheels and lowered suspension.
I just don't understand why reviewers keep getting this without LED headlights?!
ThinkCleverAndSmart me neither. we have the superb with the leds, and it just looks sooo much better!
@ThinkCleverAndSmart
Xenons are an options, not LEDs. Excellent xenons.
The 5 annoying features were quite nitpicky which just goes to show how superb this car is.
And two of them were nonsense: a digital driver's display is an option for €500 and the power dial doesn't rotate on the bigger touchscreen. The third fault was on the looks which for some is perfect, leaving carwow with two tiny things to dislike about the Skoda.
@@mehimre9249 It's one of the best looking station wagons out there. If it were black or dark blue, no one would ever be complaining about it.
@@mehimre9249 yeah my grandparents have just got a 2017 one and it really looks much better in person and surprisingly sleek and not as boxy as I was expecting with plenty of creases
Mat those intro gags are your trademark.
3 people got out of the trunk, that was the gag
no shit Sherlock
Umbrella in the door? So it's basically a rolls royce
ILLUMINATUS well, no, or maybe the unemolyeds rolls Royce 😂
Or a early 90s Nissan pulsar gti r from Japan
best review channel on youtube by a long way. Great presenter too
I just have to say that your reviews are the best here on CZcams! I've watched all your videos like 10 times each. The funny thing though is that I'm 13 and will probably not buy a car for the next 5 or 10 years.
Don't worry I'm 26 and still addicted to Mat's reviews
Limpan Olofsson You can buy one and look at it for the next 5 years.
Sirion #depreciation
Limpan Olofsson tjenare limpan;)
Linus Lidgren Tja! Skönt att inte vara den enda svensken som kollar på carwow.
Great video, happy to see you grow in sub numbers.
I was a passenger in a diesel 2014 Octavia Estate on a long drive from Rumford to Newport and back. Insanely comfortable car with superb ride quality, even over bumpy roads in Wales when we took a detour to a small inn near Symonds Yat.
Glad you mentioned the colour. I've always thought this particular shade of red makes any everyday car look awful.
Black metallic and then! :D
No no no no no... cars should have bright colors...
We've got a Guilietta in that red.
Looks amazing in my opinion.
It's not even close to being the same shade of red. The red offered by Alfa is hot. Also Mazda's red looks great.
Red is a Mazda exclusive.
Why would you want a Rolls Royce? Basically the same legroom in the back, both come with umbrellas, Skoda's more practical. Slower, but hey. If you get the 280 4x4 (Shame it's not a 6 cylinder anymore) it'll be pretty much as fast, though. Winner!
Ex Jag owner for 12 years (models from XE, XJ, XF, XK and XKR ). Prior to that I had BMW 3, 4 and 7 series. Bought a 280PS LnK 4WD estate 6 months ago for £37k as we got ourselves a dog. Best value for money car I have owned. Great to drive and very comfortable. Plus it can move along when required. I will have another (maybe the hybrid when it comes out next year).
Im driving one of these and can say its amazing
my wife actually spent 2 hours in the same position as yours in the back when she was sick, she even managed to fall asleep...
traffbros ml
you had us in the first half, not gonna lie
currently in the market for a new car and your fantastic reviews definitely help making a shortlist! I think the Skoda Superb is going to the top of the list
@1:10 you don't have to lean in through the trunk to fold up seats, those two small hinges right after the voltage socket assembly actually fold the rear seats without need to cramp yourself inside
Matt, when will you do the review for Mercedes CLS Coupe and Audi A7?
Mat, you have the best reviews, can't say any more.
Good review Mat, thanks.
it comes with umbrellas?! I'm sold
I'm still hopping for new MY2017 Mazda 3 review , and to see if they sorted wind and road noise.
Give the detailed reviews of the new superb saloon
do you mean the 1.4TSI with 150hp, I think thaty'll be the best choice
That boot light is genius!
3:33 Mat's not Mat when Mat's hungry.
Very nice minicab! Red isn't the most flattering colour for it though.
Great job , do review the Skoda Superb Salon
amazing family car. class leading interior space and it also looks reaaally good.
Matt is the best at reviewing cars. Hands down
I genuinely don't get why any carmakers make cars with this specific shade of red. It just doesn't suit anything. It either has to be a more specific shade or darker to work with any car, especially bigger cars like this.
Can you please review the facelifted MK7 Golf? Thanks Mat
Is it 1.6tdi enough for estate version when it's full loaded?
great review thanks mat
I would be really grateful if somebody could answer the following question; what material is the door padding made of, on a style (used in europe) trim, with the alcantara upholstery? In the sportsline version, I know for a fact that it is also alcantara, not quite sure about Style though. Thanks in advance, I know this isn't an easy question, but I myself just can't find any information on it.
So much space!!!!! 😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵😵
Could you please do a video on the new face lift Seat Leon!! Ty
The reviews always say that the rear seat don't fold flat, but they DO! You have to lift the rear seat bases up and forward as well as lowering the backs.
how does this compare with the new insignia?
Really hope they do a hatchback review too
I've got a 2014 Superb hatchback. 10 years old, 47k on the clock. It's like driving a new car. It's effortless, a gallon of diesel seems to go gor ever. Best car I've ever owned.
We just rented one in Germany and really enjoyed the economy and performance. Lots of room. Fun to drive. Avis.
One of my favourite cars. Fills the gap once held by the Ford Falcon (Australia).
1969cmp nah mate the commodore
Great job! 👍🏼❤️
Nice review Matt ! I don`t like Skoda`s cars , but your reviews tend to make them prettier for me too .
Saw one in green the other day, red is much better looking. If I was in the market to buy one I would.
Entertaining and informative video as always.
Please review the sedan! :D
I own a 2018 1.6 tdi Se 7 speed dsg and it is a fantastic car. It doesn’t however return anything near the quoted mpg figures. Around town it will achieve low 40’s at best and on motorway at 70 more like high 50’s / very low 60’s. I am an experienced driver and know how to drive economically and do not have the car packed with extra weight etc.
No LED in the front?
0:51 Damn i thought there is someone's going to pop right out of the floor too!!
Dude should change the shoes but he is the best car reviewer ever :-)
Okay to be honest I have never done this anyway but you can't lock the glovebox? 2:55
For some reason i like these reviews i watch them everyday, everyday!?lol
tashrique karriem same here
Mat why you don't drive on the outside footage
This was the best era of Carwow.
Well done Matt, up to your old tricks again I see. I am sure this is a good car but wouldn't it be a good idea to compare this VAG product to something other than another VAG product; the Passat?
Incredible value. Get it in black, sedan, with 18 inch wheels and feel like a sir!
please do a video of the baleno
This is my best Skoda Superb combi from CZ 👌🇨🇿 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Why the re upload?
I thought the Easter egg was the Chewbaca sound when you put your head in the boot side compartment around 6:35-6:40
Looks great!
@carwow we need you to review the new Skoda Superb facelift but this time in the top l&k 272km version in the liftback version. How about it?
Skoda superb estate 206tsi with a stage 2 revo technik software upgrade...my next car. I love the Octavia vrs that I've got, but want all 4 wheels driving.
AWESOME REVIEW :D
I couldn't agree more : The best estate in the business !!!
6:38 that sound :D
I wish they sold Skoda cars in the U.S.
JTN 1970 they only make 4 cylinders so no one would buy them
They'd buy the higher powered 2.0 turbo petrol though.
Yeah and you would be the only one buying it because it doesn't have a V6 or a V8 option
They have studies the US market. The market here doesn't need a rapid shifting gearbox, which in the VW group us wing has got problems. Neither the US need a proper handling car, they rather need a more soft riding plush one with a high torque V6 which has Toyota badge on it.
@Farina Marcina Is that the 7 speed dry clutch DSG that comes with the 1.4 petrol or 1.6 diesel?
It lives up to its name
Please do the superb hatch
It's lift back not hatch.
Martin Svoboda - it’s called a hatchback here in the UK.
I just noticed from the license plate that this is the exact same car reviewed by What Car.
You know what's amazing about it? For 45k you can get the sport line with 280 hp, 4x4 and dsg transmission with a shitload of features (heated front and rear seats, ventilated front seats, heated weel, remote start for winter and a hell of a lot more), with very good interior materials and it goes from 0 to 60 in 5 seconds a bit. That is just ridiculously good value for a very practical and very capable car.
only down side is the fuel efficiency
the man is crazy. than his reviews, i like his craziness...
Got really confused by the blue bar in the previous upload.
In my 20s I would have balked at the idea of buying a Skoda estate. However I have completely different values in my 30s and this ticks every single box:
Reliable, comfortable, economical and low key. Boring to other drivers but chock full of useful little features.
whats wron with red? rather that than boring silver or black
Kcuf elgoog silver and black look much cooler on cars red just looks boring
AnishGaming about 70% of cars on the road are silver and black. individually their cool nice but on the road they just merge with the rest of the boring silvers greys and blacks
a renault talisman grand tour costs arround 10 grand less and offers more equipement, but the skoda's boot is slightly bigger therefore the renault's seats are way more comfy, adjustable and offer massage funktion. the skodas seats are quite small which make it seem to have way more legroom than other do, which is easy to achieve with such short seatroom
Renault? I'll never buy renaults again. One of my worst decisions
Skoda simply clever
Reupload?
i like how this car looks from the outside but i still went with a b8 passat
6:28 what is that green thing for?
Minh Pham he says it is an ice scraper
3:23 Who is the driver Mat? :)
Mat jacked as usual
Such a roomy and practical estate!
4:00 who's that, impostor !!
when u finally think mat has matured a little bit 😂😂
The Superb is a great car, but one thing I find irritating is that 7 times out of 10 the glovebox doesn't fit properly and is wonky when closed, a small attention to detail which lets the car down
Does the back seats have some air vents?
Yes
Why would you want tft dials on the dash. It's just something to break. Analog Dials rarely fail these days even after 300k miles
miss the 0-100 km times you use to do
One thing that annoyed me about the car is the headlights, in the uk they're standard halogen lights where elsewhere they have the xenons, even ireland and we usually have less spec in the cars
6:39 - You going to audition for a wookie spot in the next Starwars?
Are station wagons called estates in the U.K.?
Sam B Yes
No, estates are called Station wagons in the US. 😁
The posh ones are tourer's the really posh ones are called shooting brakes
I think the best description is wagon.
That rotating on logo would drive me insane. It's little things like that that spoil an interior for me. Although, I do think the Superb is the best car in it's class.
