Njube Township, which was established in 1954 as a municipal housing development, is located on the western outskirts of the City of Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. The neighbourhood is named after King Lobengula's royal son, Prince Alban Njube Khumalo, and has a fascinating history and interesting tales to tell. D-Square, Njube Turn, Desert Football Ground, KoMakhovula Shopping Centre, Njube High School, St. Pius Church, Isalukazi Arts Centre, and Sdudla Beer Garden are among the township's significant monuments.
Njube is also known as Number 3 under the City of Bulawayo demarcations, owing to the building of townships on the city's western flank during the 1945 industrial boom. We meet various community members in this documentary to talk about the township's history, prominent people who come from Njube, interesting vibes, and the work done by Umkhathi Theatre.

~ About Magriza Made Me Cook: » Magriza is slang for uGogo (Grandmother in isiNdebele) and the name of the show is derived from Prince's inspiration for falling in love with cooking; his grandmother. The goal of MMMC is to document and serve Africa's diverse food culture, one dish at a time. We believe that Africa has got unique meals that ought to be talked about, and most importantly, cooked consistently. We believe in the values of Ubuntu, Respect, Creativity and Minimalism.

Njube is classed as Number 3 in the demarcation of townships inside the City of Bulawayo's western side. Iminyela Township is number one, Mabutweni Township is number two, Mpopoma Township is number four, Sidojiwe Township is number five, and Pelandaba Township is number six.

Yooo im soo touched. My father was born in Zim in Matopo. He then moved to South Africa in 1944 he never went back to Zim.
Meaning we were born in SA he was married with a Xhosa lady.
He didn't even told us about his origin. We then grew up knowing we are from the Eastern Cape which was Transkei then until in the late 90s when he was sick. To our surprise because he was sick he wanted to go home when we preparing to take him to eastern cape he said no Rhodesia we were all chocked. To cut story short that was the first time i came to Zim in matopo lucky enough most of my uncles babomncane no auntie were still there.
    I was soo touched.
I felt in love with Matopo n have relatives in Njube new Lobengula west.
I love my people back there.
    Keep educating us about Matebeleland❤

One of these days we should all come together and adopt one of these township arts areas, develop and sponsor them. I think a place like Njube is rich especially when it comes to arts. If we put exposure to the talent that’s there, it will be a good, and noble thing to do. We owe it to ourselves.

KoMakhovula was a Butchery during our time in a complex called koMtungwazi next to the clinic. Those shops were well stocked in relation to other standalone shops eskweyeni.Makhovula a fond name given to Mr Chikondo, not sure he was aware of his name..... He was the owner of the butchery. He packaged his meet in small packages called ‘amasaka’. Gogo would insist that I tell uSikondo that he sells me isaka lamathumbu lolusu😂😂😂😂 in the meantime it was just a 200g package.
