Didn't see it mentioned here but:
Your motherboard has a little coin battery (2025 or 2032 likely) When these are nearly dead (or dead), your PC will continue to restart over and over again. You won't be able to get anywhere near starting Windows - and this had nothing to do with a Windows problem anyway.
Change that battery - try to test it if you have a tester. (most battery testers don't test a coin battery)

@@VirtualShepherdOfficial Sorry for the delay. YES, there could be one problem that is easily overlooked - the actual electric cord plugged into the computer - the power cable. Read the label on the cord itself. You'll see some specs. Use at least 16 gauge / 300 watts / 15 amps. Compare this to other nearby cords. Use the one with the best specs and try your computer again.
If that didn't work out, plug your power cable directly into the wall socket - NOT a surge protector or multiple outlet.
- Have you tried to remove, wait 30 seconds, and then reinsert the coin battery which is around center on the motherboard? Yes, I know you said your computer is new. Do this task anyway, okay?
- Swap your power cable and/or make sure you're using the same cable as before. Plug it directly into an outlet, not a surge protector.
- If your keyboard is USB or wireless (USB antenna), unplug it and try an alternate keyboard. Unplug any other USB devices (drives, etc) for now.
- I'll assume you didn't yet look under the CPU at the thermal compound condition.
- Can you get into the BIOS? As soon as you press the power button to start the computer, start continuously hitting the F8 button to enter the BIOS. If this didn't work, try again but using/hitting the Delete button continuously instead. (example: tap tap tap tap tap tap tap.....)
- IF you get into the BIOS, disable "FAST START". Disable "SECURE BOOT".

Anyone have an idea as to why turning on another item on the circuit would possibly restart the system? For example if i turn on a fan it sometimes restarts. If i build up some static from my carpet and flip the light switch it sometimes restarts. This computer runs 24/7 and it's frustrating

@@Jack-Eugen well to fix that you need to turn off automatic restart or if it still keeps shutting off by its own then its your CPU that needs to be cleaned up from the inside

i think mine is due to vdroop making my cpu consuming less power and making it restart because it does not restart when i have a game playing so i always have to have a game running in the background for it to stay on :/

but what about when i push the power button and it tries to boot but shuts down... then tries to boot again, then shuts down, then tries to boot again, then shuts down.....and nothing is even showing up on the screen this whole time.
So I was playing rdr2, I’m positive my system didn’t overheat but the game just froze for a while. I had to unplug it because it wasn’t responding to ANYTHING and now it’s stuck in a restart loop without a display. Any advice would be highly appreciated
Edit: I swapped my ram over to the B channel slots and it started up gonna try to clean out the A slots after work

@@nadeejanethmintracer4564 yea I swapped them into the other two ram slots after air dusting the slots
I was at work so I should add after cleaning with the eraser the problems occurred again so make sure they’re securely in place and try the other slots

Pls help. My 6 month laptop restart automatically when ever I put it in shut down/sleep. This happen only working in battery only. If I plugged in and try to shut it down or sleep it will work like normal without any restarting issue. Till this day I didn't installed or visited any third party files or links to my laptop so I can pretty sure no malware or viruses.
I have tried down following steps below to fix this issue.
- I have updated to latest windows and bios
- Disabled Auto restart failure
- Turned off Fast start up from 'Power and sleep'
- Turn off services from system config and tried
- Tried cmd shutdown
- Tried cmd repair system file
Unfortunately Nothing worked : (

Update: I found out it has to do with the dim 2 ram slot of my computer. If I have any ram in it, the pc won't turn on at all. I don't have a large enough ram chip to use my computer so I'm buying a new one

I too had the rebooting issue which obviously can be very deceptive to figure out. You may be fooled into thinking the problems is RAM, or the CPU, or over-heating, graphics card, or the power supply, and maybe blame other things. You may even waste significant money replacing parts during your challenging mysterious diagnosis.
I HAVEN'T SEEN THIS CULPRIT anywhere on the Internet - no one mentions it at all as the cause of rebooting but it ended up being ****** THE POWER CORD that's connected to the power supply.

What if I plug my pc into a power strip? Could that cause it to randomly restart?
@@michaeloftherose No Michael. A power strip will not cause computer reboot problems. I have always used good power strips for all my computers. I would however suggest to stay away from the cheap $10 ones - protection is near zero plus they commonly catch fire under certain power surges, especially a lightning strike. Buy name brands like APC, Anker, or Belkin. (APC if you want lightning warranty protection)
