  • Just a general sound test difference for different profiles keycaps that I have on hand. Different manufactures will also have difference in their keycaps even though they are classified on the same profile and abs or pbt also make a difference on the sound too. So take this as a grain of salt It's all up to you to decide which profile and design you like.
    Keyboard: RK61 rgb, foam modded
    Switches:Outemu Purple tactile lubed
    Keycaps used in video:
    OEM: RK61 original white Oem profile keycaps(abs)
    Cherry: Totoro keycaps Cherry profile (pbt)
    XDA: Dawn/Ember(微光) keycaps XDA profile (pbt)

      Well its preference. Everyone have different taste on sound and feel. Btw this sound comparison is not a serious test since i was using different material keycaps and different manufacture ones so its not a fixed test. So do take it as a reference for just the keycaps display in the video ya

      Idk about low profile keyboards compatibility with xda keycaps. If ur switches are using the same design as the normal switches like outemu low profile then it will fit. If they are kailh choc low profile then it cant really fit any normal keycaps including xda

      @@chasingdrama2955 the rk61 is standard height mx style keyswitches so there wont be any interference between xda and them. However low profile outemu switches are lower in height, u could try getting a normal cherry or oem height keycaps and see whether theres any interference or not. If there are none, then xda profiles with lower height than oem and cherry will definitely fit well.

      I didnt notice any interference between the south facing outemu purple switches and the totoro cherry profile keycaps though. But just be reminded not all cherry profiles are the same, there are just a standard and each manufacturers have their own design with little difference between others for their cherry profiles keycaps. But for cheap prebuilt keyboards and cheap clones for cherry profiles keycaps you pretty much dont need worry about the interference

    Do you find that it is harder to type with the flat style keycaps such as XDA? They sound really nice but I'm scared that I wouldn't get used to it.

    • @dancheok3635
      @dancheok3635  Před 3 lety +6

      I do find them easier to type because of my typing styles which "glide through" the keycaps unlike touch typing. Ur millage may vary.
      But on the other hand, xda makes my switches sound worse than oem and cherry profiles. They sound ok when u use it. But because I do have 1.5mm thick pbt cherry profiles keycaps to compare, I do find the sound of xda is worse. Especially on the stabs. Maybe the sound "bleed" through the sides of the keycaps because of their lower height. So I do skipped xda profiles for my main board.
      Anyway its ur preference. I will say u will get used to them later on after some use. So maybe can try pull the trigger on them, and if really cant get used to them, maybe just sell them to others who are interested for some money back.
