7:20 this deck isn't running 8c Katakuri. And I've looked at a handful of winning Katakuri decks in the East just recently, and I didn't even notice it at first until after I watched this match (cuz I was thinking the same thing about 8c Kid), but I don't think I've yet to see a single, winning Katakuri deck list in the East that was running any of the 8c Katakuri. I'm really not sure why. I personally feel like you don't want more than 2, but even just having 1 just in case you run into a situation like this. It just really surprises me that it's so absent from their meta seemingly...
It's not a surprise, the real reason is people don't really run or prepare into Green Uta until very recently because of the EB-01 support (and they're outliers still). 8c Katakuri is just a brick on hand for Katakuri decks because even if you use it against Black 8c Moria they'll just K.O. it or bottom deck it anyways and you gave them additional life. Saka/Moria almost always loses against Kata here in the East with their current build. Uta appeared very late into this Meta. EB-01 is just a month in here in the East, no one would expect Green Uta that runs 8c Kid just because a new 2k counter (Sanji) and blocker (Blueno) was added. It's just a matter of timing and the Kata players not having enough practice against the revamped Green Uta decks. G Uta decks appeared during Asia prelims last year then disappeared quickly because it loses automatically against Yellow before.
If he were to summon the 10c mom against that board he automatically loses the right play was to swing at the 8c kid and hope one of your hits connected
I agree. The 10c mom is a dead turn. On play effect does nothing, cause you can choose to discard life when you are at 0 and Uta will just swing at life anyway. You have to cripple Uta by trying to clear her board
Well He can't bc the characters He has all cap out at 6k. You have to put a big body down or Else he's just gonna discard like 1 card per attack that uta is gonna gain back anyway through nami and leader

It was their Nationals or whatever. Basically, from my understanding, the top 6 players of this tournament will be playing at Worlds in March.
