Is this the same function for the rear Micro USB? 3, What is the use of the USB-a? 4, Can you explain the use of the LAN connection? 4a, What programs can be used with the LAN connection? 5, Is there a WiFi Dongle type set up or functionality? 6, In Service types, how do you set up things like Racing team and Customs as there id no on/off available? Thanks for the video. I got to see the SDS 200 up close and clear. Debating whether to get it. I already have the SDS 100. Thank you for turning off the beeps. I generally do NOT listen to Police or Fire or EMS and am more interested in my Coop Security and Malls and Stores and Colleges and Hospitals. NYPD will go encrypted and I am ok with that. I hope once NYPD becomes encrypted we will be allowed to use a scanner in our vehicles. Oh, I have heard the antenna that comes with the SDS 200 is actually very good. Of course you can upgrade the antenna. Thanks again!
You realize that most people hear that loud hum and the noise when scanning through their external speakers. Some people don't have the hum at all. It's a roll of the dice. The hum was so loud because of your setup but thanks for amplifying (so to speak) the problem. I'm surprised it wasn't the first thing you were looking for as there is extensive information on the forums in RR. Maybe show a video of you taking the radio apart and trying to fix the hum like someone else did on CZcams, hahaha. Thanks for the video it sure is nice eye candy but that's all it is to me. Just a dream. Hope Uniden is able to fix it in the future on units that aren't already in the pipeline but I guess they have to acknowledge it first. Thanks again.
The hum sounds more like a buzz to me which is even more annoying. I still have a Regency M400 scanner from back in the day, When it scanned it had a very faint hiss to it but I actually liked it because it helped me fall asleep but this buzzing is unacceptable in a $700 scanner.
your video is HANDS DOWN the BEST video posted on the SDS200 right now. mine arrives tomorrow (saturday,, Feb 9) so this is a real resource to check things out before it arrives. did you need download a code plug for sentinel or simply hook the 200 to it and download your fav lists along with upgrading the firmware and master database first. i have the 436 so will use those fav lists for the 200. i also have a 996p2 and many others. thanks for posting.

For this video, I didn't set anything up. The radio was demoed directly how it comes out of the box. The Sentinel for the BCD436HP is the same cop you'll use on the SDS. It isn't. What you are hearing is the gain being set too high on my mixer. Once I dialed it back the gain on the mixer, the hum you hear goes away. FWIW, I get the same noise on my microphones when the gain is set too high as well on this mixer. You can hear the difference at 22:45 when i lowered the gain.

Uniden 800 mhz. 4.radio shack 1000 channel scanner 1998. Got for 150. Dollars. 5. 1000 ch. Portable same aa my base. Had till 2005 .then 6. Went back to radio shack. I got a brand new 1. Them my apartment got flooded and lost every thing. So i got radio shack scanner 2013 Edgewater nj 345 xt radio shack. Then 2016 radio shack closed got a radio shacj handheld digital trunking scanner .now i have a bcd996p2 digital box scanner. It works great but the phase2 comes and goes any suggestions thanks!
Can you please do a video of installing the Uniden noise part they are giving away free, their video, is just to hard to me to follow, rushed through. Would love to see a slow talking how to step by step of the install before a guy with bad eyes tries to open up a $700 scanner

Hello Phil, I currently have a BCD996P2. Recently got back into the search for a SDS200. Have you noticed improvements in monitoring Nassau and Suffolk P25 systems? Just adjusted my threshold settings and only use one site best for my location to see if any improvement but I know the SDS is supposed to handle simulcasting better. Thanks! (In short, is the SDS 200 an upgrade worth doing)
$700 for a scanner is absolutely insane. just to listen to police, fire, taxis etc. pshh, no way. the display is to busy as well, waaay to much stuff on there at the same time. its nice though and i would totally buy one at like $300 tops. but $700? thats just ridiculous.
At 28:57 he says to go to SDS200Review.com where he will be documenting his reviews on this radio but it hasn't been updated since before he even got the SDS200 scanner. WTF? I can only assume the radio was bad so he sent it back because he lives in a major city yet couldn't pick up anything.
Why would u want a $700.scanned to pick up an analog signal, lol. U can do that with a $25 baofeng Look up the frequency on radio refrence, and manually enter it or enter a nyc zipcode, and lock in on NYPD and when they transmit , save the frequency to favorites..if i new how to do any of that i would tell u

If you have been out of the scanner hobby for a while, take a listen to my podcast. That should bring you up to speed on P25, DMR, and NXDN, as well as some other 'newer' issues like rebanding and narrowband. Let me know about the software and then I'll answer all the questions in a single reply for you.

Only the non-encrypted transmissions. No scanner will receive an encrypted transmission. Example: NCPD Dispatch on the P25 500Mhz system for Nassau County, NY
The gain on the mixer was set too high. When I plugged in the scanner, that is what you are hearing. I adjusted the gain on the mixer at 13:00 and you can hear the noise went away.
Especially when they want you to do a modification for the hum. I am not paying $700 and then having to do a fix. Uniden says they won't be doing the fix in production so I guess I will never buy it.
Light equals cheap. Where is it made? China? I don't want to be sending $800 of my hard earned money to the Peoples Republic, unless it is in the form of bombs and bullets. All police frequencies in my area were encrypted some time ago, making a scanner worthless. Even in the few places where they have not been encrypted, they soon will be, making an expensive scanner a worthless purchase.

It isn't. What you are hearing is the gain being set too high on my mixer. Once I dialed it back the gain on the mixer, the hum you hear goes away. FWIW, I get the same noise on my microphones when the gain is set too high as well on this mixer.
You can hear the difference at 22:45 when i lowered the gain.
who is Encrypting? uniden or the ems? can it be unencrypted? does it do cells and CB? ive been out of the scanner seen since the re-band..
It would be the agency encrypting, not Uniden. It cannot be unencrypted. The SDS will do CB, but can't do cell.

My first scaner was the BEARCAT 8... IT HAD 8 channels ONLY. and it used crystals.

Sentinel 2.02 is buggy I tried to update my BCD536Hp in this program using this program - tools tarhet model BCDx36HP . My BCD536Hp be came a SDS200

I don’t think that scanner was picking up anything.
It was picking up some local traffic, which is about what I expected.
