      Bro, In kolkata, while pursuing the graduates/college..almost every guy/girl learns something extra curricular stuff like either instruments or Languages. I learned russian while completing my grads along with other regional languages.My friends learned deutsch. In kolkata one of the best place to learn language is

    Kolkata is probably the only place in Asia which has an International Book Fair, a German Christmas Market every year, institutions teaching all foreign languages you can think of, a Greek restaurant, a Korean Bakery, a Russian Cafe, a Vietnamese restaurant, a Belgian restaurant, not one but two Chinatowns, cuisines from all corners of the world, microbreweries, pubs, bars, nightlife, red light areas... in short there's something for everyone!!

      @Sour 'n' Sweet ya but it's just not about the language. People learn foreign language because it will benefit them when they go out. That's not the case with most indian states, it works out easily with English and most of the epicenters of india speak hindi which most of the people know, so very few people move to places which dont speak hindi at all. One exception is chennai

    I saw the street sellers from Varanasi, villagers you would never imagine, speaking FLUENT Spanish. Amazing. Same thing in the temples in Indonesia, Spanish speakers. Very surprising. They're everywhere.

    I am so happy and moved by your coverage of our book fair. Never saw any non- bengali speaking vloggers do that, especially non- indians.       I have nothing against those places and the residents of those nice regions. Kolkata is getting bigger and bigger everyday and I prefer to see everyone as a family,as a part of this beautiful megacity.
