I remember going to Alton Towers and seeing that giant snakes and ladders construction set they used for this TV show. Great times. Think it was £3.95 entrance fee then lol
Remember watching this show back in the 80s. It was a show in the U.K. we had. Don’t think it run for very long. Remember this from back then when I was a young teen. Great album this come from and like the album version better.
FeedbackPete Yeah it’s the single version they release that is different to the album version. But like you say it does sound worse on here because of the old mono recording of it. I’m shocked someone had this because it’s got to be rare. I remember watching this on tv back in 1983. I remember it being a hot day too. Good old days when people had fun and we got on with life. Now people just bitch all the time and stay in living on social media. Great bands back then with uplifting songs.
Forgot to say this version was remixed and did not have grace jones voice in it. The album version from quick step side kick did have grace jones on it. Check it up on the net. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Watching_(Thompson_Twins_song)
I remember watching this clip as a teenager when it was originally broadcasted in the 80s. Thought that the hydraulic stage concept was so cool. Probably health and safety would not allow it these days. Thanks for sharing this clip.
FeedbackPete You are correct. At the time Musicians Union rules were you had to re-record the track for tv. Not every artist did it of course but they had to go through the motions. This Thompson Twins track will be unique.

Hi Michael I think this version used in this show doesn't sound quite so polished.

True Matt great bass line. This version from TV sounds like a different mix to me
this is so cool...I've never seen this (I'm from USA...LOL)
Massively under rated 80's bass line, cant hear it well here. Great song
