In this video, Penn Rail Video takes you on an exclusive tour of the Tweetsie Railroad through the eyes of the engineer! That's right, we'll be taking a ride in the cab of Steam Locomotive #12, known as "Tweetsie". Engineer Tim Smith works the throttle and brakes, and Tony Deal tends to the fire as we take a trip along the Tweetsie Railroad.

Both steam locomotives are a credit to the Tweetsie system. Really well kept. The engineers respect them and run them with care. I enjoyed this video and would like to visit this operation some day. A good friend of mine, Dan Ranger, once worked on this railroad.

@rgerhardtembarq It is. Earlier locomotives were built like this to save money. As years went on, they began to lean more towards crew accessibility and comfort, with the controls being smaller and simpler. A great comparison is the cab of #12 to the cab of #190.

Last Summer I got a cab ride in 190! It was pretty awesome but I was not allowed to take any video in the cab though
