- Friday early morning drive along the Pacific Coast Highway in Los Angeles. This is the must do scenic drive in Los Angeles when you visit California! Video starts in Santa Monica on Ocean Boulevard, continues along the Pacific Coast Highway through Malibu, and ends at Point Mugu State Park. Enjoy!

The Pacific Coast Highway State (Route 1 or SR 1) is a major north-south state highway that runs along most of the Pacific coastline of the U.S. state of California. At a total of just over 656 miles (1,056 km), it is the longest state route in California. The highway is designated as an All-American Road. In addition to providing a scenic route to numerous attractions along the coast, the route also serves as a major thoroughfare in the Greater Los Angeles Area, the San Francisco Bay Area, and several other coastal urban areas.
SR 1 has several portions designated as either Pacific Coast Highway (PCH), Cabrillo Highway, Shoreline Highway, or Coast Highway. Its southern terminus is at Interstate 5 (I-5) near Dana Point in Orange County and its northern terminus is at U.S. Route 101 (US 101) near Leggett in Mendocino County. SR 1 also at times runs concurrently with US 101, most notably through a 54-mile (87 km) stretch in Ventura and Santa Barbara counties, and across the Golden Gate Bridge.
SR 1 was built piecemeal in various stages, with the first section opening in the Big Sur region in the 1930s. However, portions of the route had several names and numbers over the years as more segments opened. It was not until the 1964 state highway renumbering that the entire route was officially designated as SR 1. Although SR 1 is a popular route for its scenic beauty, frequent landslides and erosion along the coast have caused several segments to be either closed for lengthy periods for repairs, or re-routed inland.

BobVanceVanceRefrigeration pch through long beach goes through a strip of very cheap motels, and unfortunately has a lot of homeless people and prostitutes walking around, so some crazy stuff happens. my high school was on pch in long beach, and on the drive to school every morning I would see so many crazy things, crazy old lady in the middle of the street with no shirt yelling at cars, someone pooping on the sidewalk, a random man dancing at a bus station. Don’t get me wrong, I love long beach, but if you’re looking for the beautiful scenic view you should probably skip that part.

J Utah and viewers, in December 1984 I flew in to LAX with no plans other than checking out Los Angeles. The second day I drove up the amazing PCH in a rental car and it was sunny, warm and beautiful. At the Pepperdine University area, the Don Henley song "The Boys of Summer" came on the radio and some sort of magic spirit came over me and I said "I'm staying - I'm going to get a job, a place to live and a car - I'm staying". Wound up living in L.A for 7 1/2 wonderful years. To anyone reading this my advice would be if you want to do something just go for it, don't wait and if it doesn't work out there will always be something else to try. Take care all. @Cristopher Hernandez nah, California has some really good heavy metal. Even the big bands from Germany love it here they love it so much they play in the shitty parts of it too. The mosh pits are great too and violent. Just really fun I've seen a lot of bands here in California I wouldnt wana move away from it. Even got to see my favorite band here and I got to meet the lead singer of the band. Really fucking awesome it makes me love this miserable place even more. Not to mention slayer is from California so extra bonus points.
@Cristopher Hernandez I would go to Germany, Norway and sweeden. Other than that well no need to travel cause most just come go California for the most part which is badass. And like I said I have good memories in California which makes me love this place even more. It's a shit hole for sure but hell this place is awesome.

@@luminisant im not sure if i can visit australia i believe i would need a visa and im not entirely sure how i would get that. i recently went to centro america and it was Beautiful ! glad i got to witness another part of the world. Way more beautiful than crackhead hollywood. But Malibu beach, santa monica beach, manhattan beach are some of the best beaches i've been to so far. i'd love to visit australia, but the wild life there seems really wicked like a big spider comes out of nowhere to bite you wouldnt be fun but i'd still like to vist.
@@Finn-gx6ir the wildlife is really easy to avoid. I’m from New Zealand and often visit Australia, never even seen a big spider and only ever seen a snake in a wildlife sanctuary. Also if you think Malibu etc are beautiful beaches, hundreds of Australian beaches are far more beautiful in my opinion. California is beautiful in terms of mountains and deserts, but New South Wales in Australia is famed for its beaches.

I really like these videos. I recently got my drivers license and was supposed to explore LA this summer but things came up so I have just been stuck at my house daydreaming what couldve been. But these videos made me a little happier I am sorta about to experience driving around socal before I go to college (in which I won't be able to drive) thanks!
