Don’t suffer. Live your life.
Damn thank you for this wonderful advice I almost forgot to not suffer and live
For sure, Jerard should just do what he wants. He's earned his title
Why are we here just to suffer - Kazuhira Miller
His life is suffering, WHAT A TWIST
Nah, we need content
I think a full completionist run on Starfield will just make it fundamentally shit to play
I love the game, but doing everything would make it horrific
I agree. I think no man's sky offers so much more and Starfield feels is just a copy and paste of fallout in space.
nah it'll be awesome
nah No Man's Lie is still bland as hell@@supermercerbros
@@supermercerbrosno man's sky took years past its release to even offer anything and starfield isn't a no mans sky competitor and anyone thinking it is, is obviously naive or ignorant. Starfield is elder scrolls in space and never said it was more than that
Jirard, it’s okay. you’re the completionist, not an absolute maniac
Hey, he can be both! Honestly seeing him complete some of these games, I'm pretty sure he qualifies as a maniac
We can make a new the maniac gamer show lol
I vote for both!
...uuuuuuuuuh?
I think you need a spin off series where you can review and go in depth on a game like in regular episodes, but it's for games you don't 100% complete. You're the Completionist, but I think the video game world we live in now everyone understands not every game can, or even should be 100% completed.
Welcome to a brand new episode of The Finisher! Where we don't Complete games, we just Finish them!
Tears of the kingdom is a perfect example of this. Breath of the wild was already MASSIVE, and now this game added even MORE stuff u gotta do to 100% the game. The game itself is just filled with so much stuff that u have actually dedicate time for it, and nowadays more and more peopl have less time to do that
@@ZeusThePhoenix Yeah that's the problem with games these days. They should just be made with reasonable ideas of how time a player actually has, so there's less wandering aimlessly and such.
Please, don't strain yourself. Take your time, you don't have to make a full Completionist video on Starfield if you don't want to or are unable. Or delay it if you need to. Playing games should be fun, not stressful. Take care.
Agreed
i agree
Agreed
I think a majority of us would understand that this isn’t a game to complete. The fact that you collected all of the Korok Seeds in Breath of the Wild was insane. I think eventually a normal review on Starfield would be cool.
I might be stupid, but isn't that all Bethesda games? None of them I think were built with completionists in mind: Not Morrowind, Not Skyrim, Not Fallout 3-76 (OH GOD, ESPECIALLY NOT 76), and so on. I think it'd be understandable he'd want to be VERY hesitant on this. Me, I WOULD want a video on it, but not a completionist video. Does anyone else agree with me?
@@romdan7136100% well said
Honestly, dude… I want you to play whatever you want. One of the main reasons I watch you is because you’re so passionate about video games. Those videos when you’re really hyped and passionate and super into whatever game you’re reviewing… Those videos are the best. So what do I want? I want you to be happy and I want you to talk about the games YOU want to talk about. You wanna make a giant Starfield video? Great. I’ll watch it. Would you rather make a video on something else? Great. I’ll watch it.
Same.
There's no one in thie whole internet gaming space that works as hard as this man and his team. Godspeed, you mad lads. Also, don't toture yourself with "completing" the game, just do the achievements and the usual rundown of the game, that's more than enough.
💀
Along with whatever else you feel like doing. Just please, for the sake of your sanity, don't do literally everything the game has to offer.
Speaking as a longtime fan, when you play games that never had completionists in mind, it's like watching someone take on those extreme food challenges. At first it's interesting to see you do it, but after a minute it's the equivalent of watching someone choke back their 50th hotdog. Please don't push yourself too far, we love you and your mental/physical health come first
Totally agree with this
It's like watching Nicocado Avocado or whatever his name is. Just... No.
i feel like it’s a common opinion that the episodes are better when he’s playing a game with an actual completion reward or if the game actually had completion in mind
@@crunchysalmons This too. He always inevitably hates the game and himself whenever he completes a game that isn't meant to be completed- or at least isn't meant to be shotgunned (drinking term; to down shot after shot from a set of shots, rapid-fire) to completion, which mars his review of it in any other context other than shotgunning it all in one sitting, as well, drastically reducing its usefulness as well as enjoyability (Because it's pretty fucking obvious that it's not fun to complete big massive games all in one sitting, instead of playing them over a long period of time or just going achievement hunting, not actual 100% of everything).
As someone with the completionist streak myself, I feel this
You don't need to complete starfield, its fine. Complete games that you are absolutely jazzed about.
ah very true. I just think about 1000 planets to visit and it just seems less fun compared to most completion experiences. granted, if he want to do an impressions video, thats fine. I just don't want Jirard to have another Persona 5 on his hands.@@Stonezorz
Real talk man, nobody expects you to do a Starfield completionist episode. That’s a huge undertaking. Don’t hurt yourself for content my dude. Just do some light coverage of the game and everyone will be fine.
That Sea of Stars beat in the background is 🔥
That's Sea of Stars? The track at the end that plays from 6:50? Thank you! That track kicks some serious buttock and I've rewatched that part like a bajillion times now listen to it under Jirard's voice. Really wish he would credit the music he uses.
@@PikaLink91 Yep! The song is called "Dance of 1,000 Suns" 🤘🏾
@@PikaLink91I kinda want to know all the tracks in this vid.
The Completionist’s worst Nightmare: Too Many Long Games
Rockstar: gta 6 full compilation 400 hours
Let’s put an F in the chat for Longplay Archives 😔
I remember this conversation from Beard Bros. I’m pretty sure you will still have an audience if you don’t suffer through ever ounce of content, that nobody will see all of. The writing, production value, and personality make the channel more than the actual gaming effort. Plenty ppl complete games
I still think I'd love "A Completionist's Take" style videos where you decide if it is even worth it as the Completionist but still provide reviews with your wealth of experience. I still see the value in it. You are able to look up Completionist rewards and determine if it is worth it based on your past or not, and your opinion on it would still be greatly appreciated. I would definitely enjoy knowing where the best investment/reward is. To learn which games will reward and respect your time, and which ones are not worth the full journey. You have more than enough time with different styles and rewards to give an objective opinion regardless.
Aw Jirard, I don’t want to see you suffer. Take your time and I’ll watch a starfield ep if and when it comes out. It’s been a crazy year for games and we haven’t even hit October!
I don’t want to see you suffer. I want you to enjoy what you do. Honestly you’ve earned the completionist title for live so I would not be mad if you wanted to do full completionist vids by playing only as much or as little of a game as you want. I come to watch you vids for you not because you spend an insane amount of hours completing games.
Don’t do it, you’re not missing out. Live your life, you do you and play games you love, I always enjoy watching it more when can tell you really enjoy the game you playing.
Dude, there are just so many games back to back, and all of them are fantastic, so far.
NO. Don't torture yourself. Be healthy. Live. LIVE!
I feel like you could make multiple episodes on other games in the time it would take to make one Starfield episode.
Echoing my support for this approach!
At the end of the day Jirard, you are the Completionist, what you say goes. And we, your fans, will be here to watch and support you all the way.
Honestly, there’s so many massive games, I’m impressed you’re keeping up.
I will say I’ve been anticipating your Elden Ring video if that’s still a thing😁😁
After beating the main story then going back and doing the rest of the content take your time. I’ve been enjoying the game I decided to make another character for specific reason which I don’t want to spoil if anyone hasn’t played it yet. I agree with everyone, take your time, enjoy it, and do what you do best 😊
IF YOU EVER DO THIS ONE: dont do all the surveying etc we wont hold you to that lol it would be crazy to do that for 1000 planets
just do all the quests and have fun with the game and tell us your thoughts :)
Bethesda games aren't really meant to be completed 100% in my opinion
Leave that to Stephen Georg.
Neither are BotW and TotK imo
@@timotheninjaagreed
@@WritingGeekNL If the developers wanted you to complete Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, they wouldn't scatter 1,000 Koroks around the map and then reward you with a golden piece of crap for finding them all. I'm not saying they are random like Starfield, I'm saying that they weren't meant to be 100% completed.
No game is meant to be completed 100%.
Not suffering Jirard, is our favorite Jirard.
Jirard your beard is looking SUPER!! My two cents on Starfield and other huge games is take your time. Your videos are really good so I never mind the wait.
My dude, please don’t kill yourself with this. Impressions vid, if you want, but full completion is madness. Much love, my guy. Be well.
Play as much as you enjoy! I’m down to watch a new format from ya where you play “incompleteable” games and give us your impressions of massive games that technically can’t be completed in a lifetime and get your opinion on whether to play or pass on them 🤙
I'm here for you regardless Jirard.
Completionist or not, keep making content about video games and I'll be here for it.
Love the Beard Bros.
Don't suffer. Play whatever you like.
Thank you for your videos - they are always really entertaining 👍
I would absolutely watch a full Starfield Completionist review, but I’d enjoy a thorough “Impressionist” review just as much. I don’t expect anyone to realistically complete this game for a long time. Get to that video whenever you can. Love the channel.
You dont have to complete Starfield if you want, Jirard. Only if you know youre capable of it (which we know you are). Take all the time you need. Good luck bro
This comment should hang above the man's bedroom. He clearly needs to see it more often.
@@matthewapril3119so he knows not to do it
Loving the sea of stars music in the background. I watched your video on it and pretty much straight away downloaded the game. 10/10 would recommend!
I eagerly await your Starfield completionist video in 9-11 years
Enjoy it at your pace. If you feel like you wanna complete it, make that video when the time comes. We will still watch it, so don't sweat getting it out quick! We know it's a huge task 😆
I'd be happy to see a Starfield after 100 hours or something like that
Please don't suffer. I've been suffering just trying to keep up with all the new games coming out. Just take your time and only complete the games you want to complete!
Totally understandable, this year has been brutal with so many great games, and it isn't over yet.
dont suffer for your audience. if its too much, its too much. focus on what you love ❤️
Like suffering
I don't think anyone expects you to complete Tears of the Kingdom, Baldurs Gate III, or Starfield, and definitely not all 3 in the same year. Take your time and complete what you want to complete, and play what you want to play.
Tears of the Kingdom is not near as big as BGIII or Starfield but yeah it's way too much effort and a waste of time to complete, why bother when you can beat the game within 10-20 hours otherwise whereas it takes over a hundred hours to 100% it
@joedorben3504 I played for about 130 hours and was only 50% done, but that was without guides.
@@joedorben3504 not as big but still an excessive sounding project. Neither BotW or TotK naturally lend themselves to a completionist play through.
Nah dude, no hate for Starfield, but if a game feels too big and like it’ll become too draining, maybe don’t Complete it. The reason we watch you is because of your passion and insight when it comes to games, and if a game feels like too much, you should not feel pressured to finish it just because you’re “The Completionist”. Even The Completionist needs a break from completing it. Do what feels fun for you, we’ll enjoy watching you do that!
About 40 hours into Starfield, and I must say, just take it at your own pace. The game is fantastic so far, and I agree with most other commenters in saying that trying to be a completionist for it would just ruin the game. In fact it would ruin almost all Bethesda games honestly. I have hundreds and hundreds of hours in their titles, but that was purely for enjoyment, not an end goal.
Hi Jared, I completed sea of stars because of your last vid, I was only planning to finish the story initially and I'm glad I decided to do everything after your vid. Now it's my favourite game this year so far. Thanks
Jirard, if you're reading this guys comment. I loved your sea of stars video, and I would've beaten it ages ago if not for uni. Stay strong man
Jirard's beard is really beardin' nowadays. Keep up the good the work on all your endeavors!
Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering...
Jirard, let me tell you a story.
I just completed Persona 5 Royal.
I love persona 5, I've had so much fun with it and completing Royal was so rewarding. I was a bit apprised to find I'd spent 500 hours on it, but I'm satisfied.
When I went to start my final playthrough, though, I wasn't sure I would have the strength to get 100% completion. It would be tiring, sometimes tedious, and very challenging. So, to give myself that last bit of hype, I did something symbolic.
I named the protagonist "Jirard Khaleel".
And last week, I hit 100%.
That feeling, that pride for reaching the final finish line, is what it's all about. You taught me that feeling, and now, I want to be a reminder for you.
Remember how it felt to hit that 100% for the first time in a game you loved. Not because you had to, not because anyone expected you to, but because you wanted to.
Remember that feeling, Jirard, and let it be your strength.
so cute how you're using Sea of Stars music, you can really feel the love you have for the devs
Don't suffer Jirard. We will watch whatever video of Starfield you upload.
How is it suffering?
Giving Starfield the ole Completionist treatment is just Skyrim 2.0. Don't lose your mind.
Don’t suffer man, get what you feel is a complete experience and go from there. If that’s just the achievements or the story, cool. Some games don’t need to be completed but appreciated.
You don't need to worry about completing games so fast, it's would be easier to slowly take your time and I'm happy for you! ❤️
Unfortunately he is financially reliant on completing games quickly, and has a team of people he needs to pay as well, so he probably can’t afford to slow down as much as he probably should for his own health.
We love you, Jirard. And probably just pass on Starfield. That’s way too big a commitment.
I remember how much you suffered through Skyrim. Do not put yourself through that again if you don't want to. Or establish sane limits on the definition of "completion" for Starfield.
I think completing Starfield is like completing an MMO. It wasn’t meant to be. Some game are built to be gigantic so that the player would always have something to come back to and the game could last them years.
My advice to you is, play the games you want to play and separately complete the games you want to complete.
If you’ve stopped enjoying a game and completing it has become a chore out of obligation. It’s not worth it.
That’s true for any of the other games this year as well.
We love your videos and we want you to love making them. 🙂
Thanks for content over the years
Do not suffer Jirard. Do what ever you want and we will be here!
Keep ya head up and work hard y’all. U and ya friends that work in the same office have brought me smiles in the midst of contemplating suicide. So don’t let ya problems get u down u puttin quality positivity out there! Love y’all keep it up! Also I been missing that beard bros podcast hopefully I can get more episodes soon? Lol
Your idea to do a general impressions video on Starfield sounds better than a Completionist episode, due to the scope and length of the game. I think that your feelings for it will come across just as well without having to put yourself through the proverbial gulag completing it.
Just get the achievements and enjoy the game as much as you want, don’t kill yourself playing it more hours than you want to, don’t suffer. We’ll love the Starfield video no matter what.
Take your time, do what you can dude. You don't have to complete everything. 💚
Dude it's mad how you're even managing to keep up with any of the games you do a full review of because yeah there's a lot and there's so many that are huge. Great job on what you've managed to be doing already on top of everything else outside of the video games.
"Whatnot, we're sellin' Ted!" ...lmao
At 50 years old, I’ve lived in East London my entire life. In fact, I’m only a short drive away from Camden, but unfortunately I really don’t like the area, so - with some regret - I won’t be coming to the show.
Only last month, I took my youngest daughter to Camden Market to eat good food and have a nice time, but let’s just say that the people there really spoiled our time and it took every ounce of self restraint not to take certain matters into my own hands.
That being said, Jerard, I genuinely hope you have an amazing show and you have the best time while visiting here in the UK.
As for Starfield, I feel your pain. I have all three consoles and just don’t have the time to play all the amazing games I want to experience. And, by all accounts, Starfield is MASSIVE and it’d be a huge undertaking. I’d recommend slowly working your way through the game and posting a video when you’re good and ready. Even if it takes a year. Either way, I think we have similar tastes, and I look forward to seeing your impressions of the game in the future. If it’s positive, maybe I’ll eventually pick Starfield up myself.
All the best!
Simon
I think even if it comes out in months, all your long time followers will appreciate the *inevitably* long video; as well as learning how the game treated you across such a long play time.
So many donations, what to do?
Jirard: I know
Sith Emperor: Yessss - suffer! Meawahahaha!!!
There's just no way in hell it'd be WORTH completing a game as vast as starfield, so it's not like you're gonna want to recommend that anyone do the same. You're not a robot, we love YOU the creator, not just your creative output - so like others have said, please don't suffer, just ive your life man
Please don't complete it. It's not worth it. I don't want you to suffer.
Too many games is always a problem for gamers let alone for the ones who get paid to play, take ur time with this, ur health is more important ❤
I'd recommend two options:
- Work your way through every faction storyline (if you so desire) and call that a completion of narrative, perhaps with some side systems like Outposts and Ship Building, and do your video on that. The incompletionist? Going for full completion for a video would make you hate the game.
- Enjoy the game at your own pace and make a Completionist video on it years down the road when you've seen it all!
Jirad... DO NOT TRY AND COMPLETE STARFIELD!
I'm really proud to see so many great human beings from this community agree that its not in anyway a healthy thing to do.
You are well loved mate, embrace that and complete the games that you want to.
We're all here anyway watching for you (and your team's) brilliantly entertaining personality and the fact you have always been a good person. Its been a pleasure watching you and your channel grow from bears(!) to the mighty beard ;) keep doing you dude and thank you so much for your dedication and entertainment.
Peace ✌️
Complete Starfield but don’t rush it. Let it breathe
Definitely would love a Starfield video, but take your time, even if it comes out in 2025, its ok
I wouldn’t mind a Starfield video from you eventually, but absolutely prioritize your own physical and mental health over completing a game. We can wait, and it’s obviously not the end of the world if we never get a full Starfield vid.
I’m certainly not hurting for a starfield completion video 🤘 do your thing brotha
Most overhyped video game of all time?
too many games???? too many scams.
I remember this talk on SBB and i think a solution is to make a side series where you dont complete the games but still talk about them like a completionist episode. So ya got the completionist and then this new thing the playtionist
Complete starfield over YEARS, and then just randomly drop the completion video whenever you want, years from now if needed.
Too many frauds
Honestly what I'd advise to practically anyone is do themselves a favor and play bg3. They can skip the more mediocre titles (most are). They'll be better off and happy at the end of the day.
Also don't forget some times enjoying games and "completing fully" a game, can be completely different things. Some times we just need to let go and enjoy something instead of making it our job. Enjoy the ride, its the journey that counts not the destination.
Go for it, 1000 planets here we go, no skips, just cruising from one to another.
I do not want to see you suffer, you work so hard on great content for great games, I don't want you to go crazy trying to 100% Starfield. Especially in a year as jampacked as this one.
Just do what feels right. We will watch and surely enjoy no matter what. Would love an Elden Ring video, even if it's not complete!
Would love to see a full completionist video on Starfield. But don't rush it. Let yourself enjoy it on your time aswell. And when you feel its ready to release as a video then release it. But don't rush yourself playing it just for a video for us.
Jared! Completionist! It’s alright! These are some beefy games, they’ve only gotten bigger. It’s all good, when you get to them we’ll see a video. Just keep doing the great work you do
Please don’t dude. We want you happy and healthy. The nature of completing these games can really push you towards burn out. And we love your content too much for that!
Certain games are better suited for completion than others do what you like and enjoy man ✌️
"We'll sell Ted" 😂😂
I don't want to see you suffer. Star field doesn't need a whole completionist video. Thanks for making videos. Hope you're doing okay
Mr. Completionist, YOU DO YOU. Do not push yourself to do something you don't want to do because it will bring eyes to your channel- you do that already, on your own, by being you. We will gladly wait for content that you are interested in, that you put your heart into, and it's not something you feel is a burden on your shoulders to produce. YOU DO YOU. We love you for it. And, we can wait.
*
Also, where's the GofundMe to support video game preservation? Where can we help donate towards the cause? I see over a thousand people commenting on this video- It might be harder to get 1 person to invest $1000, but having the 1000 people who commented also donate $1? That will do something to move the needle.
*
I hope you have a great day, and you have a better headspace to live your life. I hope everything gets better!
Don’t worry about the timeline. Games are meant to be enjoyed
At this point in your life and career, you should do whatever makes you happy Jirard. Take your time and enjoy the cons and steaming projects. I can wait for a Starfield review. I'd be happy with a video of your opinion of the game 100 hours in.
Heck I'm playing it and it's a huge game. I'd take my time and stop and smell the roses.
Jirard asking if we want him to suffer.
My inner gremlin: Yesssss! Suffer, suffer for our entertainment!
The healthy me: Nah fam, that honestly sounds like he'll and we'd have to wait forever for the video plus I feel that it would impact your health and overall video quality due to the massive drain it would have on you.
Just get the achievements man, that’s good enough. Going to all the planets is insane.
I am almost 30 hours playtime into Starfield and I got a rare achievement for what I thought was a mainline quest.
I really do not know what a completed run for this game would look like.
Overwhelming amount of side content if viewed from a perspective of trying to hundred percent complete this game.
No, we don't want you to suffer. We want to enjoy your spin on games through your perspective, and we like watching your videos, so its probably smart for you to create in a sustainable way.
If you want to be the "Come Play, Son, Sit" with Starfield, instead of the Completionist, I'm all for it.
Don’t worry about Starfield. We would be thrilled for just a Baldur’s Gate 3 completionist run. Thanks Jirard
