It's Joshua. I'd use him even if his stats were crap lol.
So far he's been tanking even Lances in the training tower. He's pretty great.
It took me the longest time to figure out he was cheating when he said “How about a small wager on the toss of a coin? Heads, I win. Tails, you lose.”
A common trick no one guess
There I was, 5.25% pity rate on the Halloween banner, I had run out of candy to bait Sakura with. Orb after orb was simply a 4* archer or cleric. I open up my summoning session this morning and see my five orbs.

I let out a pained cry, and open the lower left green, not knowing whether I wanted a release from the torment or another chance at Sakura.

And there I sat, wondering if I would continue to let this banner steal my orbs away from the 5* heaven banner, or if I would let this 5% pity rate go. I searched my mind for the answer, and two crystal clear words emerged.

Lmao i've been trying to get a nowi and got a 5* ryoma 5*sigurd and a 5*caeda. I've been blessed with amazing bad luck. I just want my flying loli :,(
I had a similar situation. I was green sniping for Henry, and had gotten up to 4.25%. I then proceed to get 3 circles with no green orbs, with the last one popping a 5 star Luscius and no other 5 stars. The Troll Engine is strong in this game.
its a bit more expensive, but i found spd ploy on a DC build to be more effective than def ploy to help against the really fast units like Ayra and Mia
Joshua one of my favorite myrmidons in the entire FE franchise. A little sad he's not as good as I would have liked, but I'm glad he's pretty good and a free unit. Lets just hope when Rutger is added, he's good as he is in Binding Blade

yeah, they did Seth dirty, as well as Roy with his Binding Blade... and Shiida, not giving her the Wing Spear...
Binding Blade should get a buff with Forging. Where it actually increases Roy’s defense and res by 4. like Blazing Durandal or Divine Tyrfing. Thatd make Roy more viable
Brandon Martinez agreed, it's totally unfair with roy, binding blade is one of the best swords in fire emblem, and its effect in heroes does the same as the normal naga tome, but the naga tome is actually effective against dragons :/
Brandon Martinez make it 25 might with distant counter and give Roy +5 Def/Res just like in the game.
Joshua can literally do anything. It’s amazing that one of the best Sacred Stones characters is so unique when it comes to Heroes

I got a Nephenee for the free summon on the new banner. Your Fury-Wrath build was the first thing I thought, nice to see it is viable.
I was thinking of doing a Fury Vantage/Desperation set with threaten Spd or Def while giving him the Close Defence sacred seal and also having him use Iceberg or Glacies cause his high res during enemy phase with this build allows him to be a good damage dealer

Just like in Sacred Stones, Joshua is definitely solid for most of the Heroes content. Balanced bulk and good speed. With the right support, he can be pretty flexible if you can build him correctly.
I saw the Swordbreaker Alfonse as a counter and I thought to myself after your explanation “Alfonse is seen in Arena as a Joshua Counter? Never thought I see the day.”

One unit you didn't mention who has good synergy is Brave Lucina/Lancina.
With Ally support (and 0 merges on both) She successfully raises Joshua's speed by 7-8 depending on spacing. And due to the effect being invisible (spur like) they are not victim to Panic Ploy. Joshua can have 41-42 speed in combat, which means he is not doubled by most of the common lnd/swift sparrow users. If someone were to use Joshua in Arena, I would recommend Summoner Support to fix his lack of merges. And allow characters like Lute, Dorcas, and Lucina to get +10 merges who imo, do very well with him.

Add a spur spd to Blucina and a hone speed dancer or axura and he pretty much doubles everyone.
Lancina already has Drive Speed.
Drive Speed > Spur Speed due to spacing. yes, 1 speed more is nice. But I'd rather have Drive over Spur imo.

My set is enemy phase with Iceberg, Steady Breath, Windsweep (would be changed to wrath once I have nephe) and Def Ploy. Close Def for seal.
Mine is audhulma (no shit) re position iceberg so that's a lot of fun fury (I have an S support with arvis with ardent sacrifice) wrath (I have so many God damned nephenees) and speed ploy (is that kinda odd, idk but I have so many God damn diedres lol) and close defense seal, he's pretty damn good
My build for Josh is Distant Counter, Vantage 3, and Threaten Def. His Sacred Seal is Distant Def 3. He's pretty amazing.

PM1 everyone is always stacking DD 3 with DD 3 Sacred Seal but doesn't anybody realize if you take, say the DD 3 Sacred Seal and stack it with the CD 3 slot A skill you get +6/+6 Def/Res at all times on enemy phase. Slap it all on a distant counter unit with Quick Riposte, and Bam! A terrifying enemy phase monster where you don't need Steady Breath or Wrath. Thoughts?

Hey, it WAS in Fates, and Heroes loves Norse mythology especially soooo.
That along with Fujin Yumi's original effect would mean the weapon would have 3 effects on it, and they've never done more than 2 effects on a weapon.

I was summoning for lute on the farfetched hero banner and ended up getting a 5 star Tailtiu. Since I already have her who should I give her Blarblade to? I wad thinking of giving it to either Ursula or Bunny Lucina, but I can't decide.
Bunny Lucina, more BST and already has a great A skill and stat spread. There are better blue cavalry mages for Blarblade like Olwen.
I would consider inheriting her abilities instead of her tome. All of them are generally good for buffing. You can inherent both her double rally and drive attack 2 if you have the right units to inherent, both of which are both 5* exclusive abilities
tailtiu gets drive speed at 4 star rarity iirc
Blarblade+ and Atk/Res+2 are the two 5* exclusive skills Tailtiu has, so you should probably inherit one of those rather than one of her 4* skills like drive speed or her double rally. I'd recommend inheriting Blarblade+ onto Bunny Lucina over Ursula, unless you have a good Olwen, Linde, or another better Blarblade+ user.
just keep it on Tailtiu. shes literally just Nino but blue. bunny lucina is not a good investment and Ursula is decent but not better unless that Tailtiu is -atk or -spd

You should not be surprised at the +5 res stat given on Joshua's weapon. Just look at the new weapons refinery upgrade options for the silver lance +. The Atk one essentially gives +3 Atk and +5 Hp, the Spd one gives +1 Atk +5 Hp and +3 Spd, and the Res/Def ones give +1 Atk +5 Hp and +4 Res/Def. It's pretty obvious that IS has realized that the value of the offensive stats (more so Atk than Spd) is much higher than defensive ones, and this is their attempt to find a fair balance.
Unlocked is great, the only way to see the streams though is when they are up

Slap Iceberg on him. Pair him with Dorcas (Infantry Pulse). That gives him a 1 cooldown iceberg at the beginning of the map. Plop him in range of some melee unit. Close Defense seal along with his A skill gives him 42 DEF 45 RES against the attack, and Iceberg procs on his counter attack.

Phoenix I have an interesting idea :
Because sol is having its cool down reduced to 3, it'll be a 2 turn cool down special on Joshua if he runs it. So, I thought about running a set with fury, wrath, def ploy (etc.), and the sol skill. If you consistently proc sol on him with wrath while having fury buffs, fury should help keep him below 75% health and wrath would help him heal more from sol when it procs while making a 1 turn cool down on player phase if he's in range. I'll call it "unkillable Joshua", but I never got nephenee for the wrath... If you could build this once the update comes out and if you deem it worthy that would be cool.
Summary:
W - Audhulma
Assist - flexible
S - Sol (2 turn)
A - fury
B - wrath
C- flexible
SS - close defense
Also, I think the reason Joshua gets +5 res AND special cool down charge from Audhulma is because, if you compare him to the previous units with complex weapons, the brave heroes / CYL treatment units, the heroes that had defensive buffs like lucina and Sigurd had CRAZY effects. Sigurd is he prime example, giving him insane survivability but when compared to Roy or Lyn, their weapon abilities are crazy but not as good. Ike is also a good example, I really like Roy and built him a life and death set, but Ike's weapon effects and synergy are simply better, because they're mainly defensive. +5 res on a weapon isn't as bad as +5 Atk on a weapon. To prove this is how NintendIllegentSystems thinks, if you look at the performing arts banner units, Olivia and Inigo had B slots that buffed attack and speed respectively of the unit you dance, while Shigure buffs BOTH Def and Res by the same amount (4).

Tyto 31 I mean, in the end it all comes down to what you want the most. If you prefer a Nephenee over any of the units in the Legendary Summoning Event banner then it's not a "bait" for you if that's your preference. It all comes down to what unit(s) each player specifically needs.

Add life or death 3 to him and he'll be an excellent offensive player phase unit. It requires taking his close defense off, but it's either that or mediocre offense good defense stats for him.
Adrian Brooks I don't think that's his best option though. Masked Marth would do that better imo. Don't get me wrong He's still really good.

I put lnd 2 on him with attack 2 sacred seal cause i dont have a 5 star hana with desperation 3 with threaten speed 3 he gets 52 attack 39 speed and 25 in both defenses :P

I know this is rather random but, do you have any ideas for good units to give Watersweep? I have a bunch of Soren's I’m never going to be using, since I have other Good green mages already.
Reinhardt is a solid choice for Watersweep you could fuck up your opponents who face your defense team REAL good if they bait Rein with their mages. Use Phantom Speed 3 seal on a +Spd/Hone Cavalry Rein.
Low Res ranged units like Saizo/Summer Freddy/Matthew can use it.
Watersweep doesn't have too many uses compared to Windsweep.

Well watersweep doesnt have many canidates but you can never have too many good green mages and in sorens case he is pretty above decent

Agreed. Luna, sword breaker , The Reinhardt destroys Sigurd/ moonbow does not. Also can't say enough praise of how Luna saved my heroes asses in infernal battles while moonbow failed to kill the enemy and led to defeat.
why not iceberg? since it is guaranteed at least 16 damage (without bonuses from fortify/rally/spur/etc.)
With joshuas sword it lowers the cooldown to 2 which is just as good and actually guarantees kills unlike shitty moonbow skill.Moonbow is praised too much and isn't really a good skill luna is always better because it allows for more kills.
Moonbow is overrated and is only good for a low cooldown but on physical units its not that good.Luna is always the better go to option especially for tanky units.
What if you gave him Wrath for +10 on each moonbow proc?

i was thinking steady breath guard aether. he can heal with aether to stay in guard range
he doesnt have the speed to double back so he wont actually proc aether that often
if you run steady breath on him you should go with quick riposte or wrath

Distant Counter combined with a Killer weapon opens up a great enemy phase: Take a hit, hit with Moonbow active. I would like to try it, once I get a Hector or two to sacrfice to Joshua and Amelia.

Joshua has high Speed, Defense, and Res. His Pref weapon increases his Res even more.
Distant Counter almost instinctively follows.
Naw, PM1 knows what he's doing.
+spd Hector reaches 28 spd. Windsweep on him is powerful on defense teams because it can force an attack on him while he is still in Armads range. It's pretty cool for defense, but there are better skills (vantage, renewal) for him in other game modes

Use his prf weapon, literally no reason to run Wo Dao+ on him.

Huh it's ll4nce Good Wo Dao+ users are Athena (but she has it by default), Lon'Qu, Gray (He can also run a Slaying; however), or Draug and Hana. If that Karel has good IVs; you can use it tbh
