    Actually, an update was released not so long ago, and now you no longer need to have all 3 games to get a large map. It's enough to buy a third part and that's it. Even the DLCs to the previous parts will work on it, which is very cool. Even as the owner of all the parts, I am pleased that more people will be able to join this game.

    One thing that Total War doesn't carry over from the tabletop that I can understand why they didn't, but it's a large part of why they're stronger then what they're supposed to be, is that _all_ of the Skaven tech is supposed to be horribly unstable. Everything has a chance of just randomly blowing up because they don't have words for things like 'safety measures' or 'moderation'.

    • @TheLegitWeebs
      @TheLegitWeebs  Před 6 měsíci +6

      It seems like a good lore mechanic to put into the game, until you consider the amount of processing power or impact it would have on gameplay. From what the comments are saying though, balancing power levels isn't really a thing in the game xD.

    • @leadpaintchips9461
      @leadpaintchips9461 Před 6 měsíci +4

      @@TheLegitWeebs Oh ya, I _completely_ understand why they didn't throw it in, because having your gunners randomly blow up before they even fire a single shot is a feelbad moment.
      TBH balance was a lot closer in 2 pre Ikit then it has been since. Ya there were outliers (Sisters of Avalorn are still broken), but everyone had a reasonable chance of being threatening. That's not there anymore and the AI is kindof braindead so as long as it's in a player's hands, even the worst faction in the game can roll over the campaign. So the best way to play is just grab who you think is cool and stomp your way to victory.

    8:00 the thing with Morghur is he is a small target for ranged units to hit and he has the highest missile resistance in the game on top of regeneration, so you have to chew through basically 150% of his health with a massive damage reduction if you use missile weapons against him
    13:48 that comes from the high tier lizardmen unit, Stegadon (engine of the gods), basically trades a giant ballista for poison dart blowers and a space laser emitter on its back, Lizardmen has a lot of dinosaurs with ancient technology, for example the Bastiladon with a sun cannon on its back for a tanky artillery piece , or you can trade that cannon in for a snake container that poisons every enemy around it and causes damage over time, or a giant crystal that you can use to heal units with and even revive the dead

    Reasons to play The beastmen: You’re a horde faction so you bring your bases with you, very little settlement management needed. You are public nuisance number one, being able to spread chaos corruption and hide easily.
    Your armies in battle are fast and hard hitting while being somewhat squishy, with a mixed roster of goatmen, chariots and many many monsters. They are really quite fun to play :D

    Ratling gunners can be upgraded with the ability, Endless drum, which replenishes ammo when it gets low
    So far the only 2 races that have food as a mechanic are skaven and ogres, no other faction needs to deal with it
    So the engine of the gods stegadon has an agility that can shoot orbital lasers (they're in the prophet and the warlock DLC)

    Beastmen have been my favorite faction since Warhammer 1, they have some similarities to Slaanesh in battle as low armor, hard hitting monsters and infantry that do a lot of damage on the charge and can set up nasty ambushes.
    On the campaign map, they don't worry about empire building, they just want to fight and mess stuff up. You CAN try to build an empire if you want, you can block ruins from being re-settled after you've destroyed them.
    Lore-wise, they're my favorite depiction of Chaos. Humans aren't naturally Chaotic, they have to be tempted into it, or a deal must be struck for them to give up their soul. Beastmen... are born like that. They belong to Chaos, body and soul, from the beginning, and they do what they do because they want to.
    You can't escape them, you can't win against them, they will never go away. By their very nature, even if you somehow managed to go into the forests of the world and kill every single one, normal people and animals often spontaneously transform into them and escape into the woods. Morghur the Shadowgave is one of these Beastmen.

    8:35 You mention the health regeneration thing and not being able to deal enough damage to overcome it. Back in the days of the first game there was an infamous Vampire Counts lord, Vlad von Carstein, who was basically this in spades. He had absurd damage resistances and regeneration, and he terrorised battlefields everywhere. In fact, he was so busted that the devs implements a battle healing cap for all healing specifically to tone down his absurdity. Basically you can only heal a certain amount of damage per battle (base of 75% of a unit's health). Basically now if a unit is able to drag out the fight and regenerate, it's not infinite. You will need to chew through 175% of their starting health amount though. This means enemies like Vlad or Morghur here are still monsters, but they are definitely killable if you're determined enough.

    Regarding why would you play as the Beastmen: In short after their rework at the end of 2, Beastmen went from the worst race to one of the strongest. All their units are free, their cities prevent any nearby ones being built, one of their legendary lords is one of the best casters, one is a one-beastman doomstack, one can burn the world down, and you can recruit all of them if you go murder-crazy enough.
    Regarding Lizardmen having orbital-lazers: They're borderline angelic automatons created by beings from outer space.
    As for the difficulty of the game: Hard is probably the best middle-ground, very hard and legendary are just not fun. They're about doing cheese tactics to work around various AI-cheats, alot of them boring.

They are in the same vein as Grim-kleaper's where goes over a single faction within a race while also explaining the races mechanics but somehow, his videos are even more unhinged. For example, in one of his latest videos about a modded faction (Since modders do more for this game than CA), he said and I am quoting now "In moments like these, all you can do is put on a strong face because it's not gay to be pounded by 5 men unless you moan" while getting his settlements and armies attacked on five fronts. They're a blast if you don't mind some more vulgar humor with your Total war 3 video.

      @Brutalyte616 Před 6 měsíci +1

      Eh, not quite. There's been multiple End Times scenarios in Warhammer Fantasy, usually facilitated by an Everchosen of Chaos launching a campaign of global destruction and conquest, but the Orcs, Skaven, Nagash, and the Vampire Counts have all hand at least one End Times scenario to their name. This was done to create the constant drama of Warhammer Fantasy, as the end of the world was always right around the corner and needed SOMEBODY to save the day, either in the next lore book or whatever motley crew of chucklefucks you had in one of the TTRPGs.
      THE End Times, however, is the end-of-the-world scenario that stuck because GW wanted to end Warhammer Fantasy and move on to Age of Sigmar.

    To play Immortal Empires you only need Warhammer 3, with most of the other factions from the other games being locked. You unlock them by purchasing the DLC and/or the other mainline games if you wish
    EDIT: So how it works is like this.... since you already own warhammer 2, when you eventually get warhammer 3, youll be able to play the factions from both games in immortal empires, but not the factions from the first game.
    EDIT EDIT: you also dont need to buy the other mainline games if you only want to try out some of the other factions. You only need to get the DLC.
    For example, lets say you want to try out the Empire, but dont want to buy Warhammer 1 since its too expensive. Then you can just go ahead and buy a DLC that features the Empire, and youll gain access to the entire Empire Base roster automatically in immortal Empires. So tou definitely dont need to pressure yourself with buying everything. Also also also if and when you gain access to a faction (either from buying DLC or the maingames) you get access to ALL FLC(free content) tied to said faction. So if you do your research right, you can get amazing value by purchasing certain DLC combos. Just food for thought

    14:15 The Great Plan is "something, something, kill Chaos, something something". Basically the Old Ones were secretive about the Great Plan to begin with, and when they fled the planet during the first Chaos invasion they took pretty much all knowledge of it with them. Aside from the Old Ones, only the Slann had any knowledge of it at all, and only like three of the current Slann were even alive when the Old Ones fled. So the Great Plan is a very hazy patchwork of prophecies and guestimates based on star readings and analysing extremely vague tablets to try and work out roughly what the Old Ones wanted. The Slann have managed to figure out that it involves getting rid of Chaos, but that's about everything conclusive.

    I wanted to add a few things
    About health regeneration - there are a few factions, who go crazy over it. However, there is one mechanic that limits its power - the health regeneration cap. Essentially, you can usually only recover, what, 100% of your units max HP? I dont know exact numbers. There are few ways to increase the cap, but then comes the second thing - units with health regen usually gain a big weakness to Fire. If you are interested in how that feels to play, you can check 2 kleapers videos - one for the nurgle faction (Spreading INFINITE DISEASES with HUGS) and for one specific undead faction (Eating Gods with Zombies Only in Total Warhammer 3), both go heavily over this thing.
    About Empire not reacting to one of their cities literally nuked - I dont know much about warhammer's lore, but this is one of few thing I do know - Empire has a small tendency to deny certain threats. For instance, the whole empire denies Skavens existance. Like, come on, how could there be sneaky rats right under our cities? It is too scary to be truth, so it is a lie, capieche?
    And finally, I wanted to recommend one fun video, that would shortly explain, what it is like to play as any faction in the game. It is fun, tells pretty much the truth, so if you dont want to check 1 faction per video, this could be your way out (Total Warhammer 3 Review: Destroy Elves). Maybe you could even make reaction to that video too. (But I still suggest you to watch all kleapers videos - they all are fun as well!)
    Oh, and one last topic - Vermintide 2. My favorite game, save for Star Rail. Essentially, it is a game like "Left for Dead 2", where 4 players fight against many enemies. If you played this game, then this should give you a lot of understanding of vermintide 2 gameplay, with one major difference - in LFD 2 you fight mainly with guns, while vermintide 2 places bigger accent on melee gameplay. So you usually keep your ammo on ranged weapons to deal with specials. All in all, it is very interesting and fun game. Though it is a bit boring before you get to higher difficulties. Also, one video that could give you a better understanding about it - "How 2 Vermintide 2 | Bad Rats 2 Chaotic Boogaloo" . It, too, is lively and good animated, so again, reaction material.
    Welp, hope this comment was helpful.

My usual skaven tactic is to use snipers to kill lords, heroes and single monsters but Morghur is so tanky he can easily get to your lines especially if your troops are dealing with his cannon fodder and if your unlucky he summons the chaos spawns into your ranged units (my army is only ranged units). One skaven faction has a mechanic where they can straight up delete another faction from the game. You can't balance that. Also the skaven weapon teams for example are some of their best units and Ikkit-Claw can use his forbidden workshop to give them permanent upgrades, making already strong units into a meatgrinder that can destroy an entire army in half a minute without any significant losses, if you manage to ambush them.

    The skaven in fantasy are the most technologically advanced faction in the setting, the most populous faction, and if it wasn't for their incompetence and ego they would be a legitimate threat.
    The end times of the setting was essentially caused by the Skaven deciding to work together for once and nuke the moon.
    They balance silly with frightening, because on one side you'll hear the story of when they first appear in the lore and how nightmarish it was, but you'll also hear the story of how they had to essentially establish health and safety practices after a reactor they built under their largest city blew up and almost genocided their entire race because they just don't give a shit about safety, collateral damage, or warnings.

    The autoresolve is bad... By design. You don't want skipping battles to be an optimal option. The battles are the point of building a campaign. Autoresolve is supposed to be only a tool to skip boring, already decided battles that would either be a boring massacre, or a very unfun loss you can't do anything about

    Skaven have all kinds of tactics but the most commun and usefull one that all of them like to play around is ambush. It doesn't matter if you have gun, assassins, warriors, monster or magic they just want to backstab you yes-yes.
    Here, he plays Ikit so of course as the biggest brain of all rats, Inventors of machin guns and doomrocket, One of the most important rat in Skavendom (so much that he has his own bodyguard that are normally only reserved to the warlord = king of the clan), he plays with chemical and guns !

    Fun fact: if i remember correctly, the empire, even its fracture state, is like the 2nd most powerful, which is very cannon, the only reason why the empire doesnt steamroll everything and everyone in lore is cause their constantly fractured, if they truly united nothing short of a full blown vermintide and chaos attack will stop it and even then it wont end it immediately, hell the only reason why the wood elfs can get away with their wild hunt crap is cause its to much work to get rid of em so unless they truly piss off the empire then their ok but if they do somehow make the empire unify then no amount of god avatars will save them, hell same to every other faction besides chaos but thats cheating, cathay has demi god dragon rulers and im pretty sure that a piss off humanity could technically make their peasents rise up, so imagine a full blown collective mankind as in every single human around all collextive agreeing on something, that is terrifying and something that only malal would enjoy

(just like he did :D it was fun to look at for sure but what he did there is possible and as ikit claw its one of the most simle ways to get a full victory.) in a way all factions are op if u know how to play them. chaos dwarfs are realy weak earlygame btw and all that say they are easy never woud get to the op lategame they have on hard mode. i did it twice and ohh dam its a stuggle. and mods are a thing. mods are the reason i have not 3000 but 20000 hours in this game.
