Sold the savage mk1 to get the Fireball 100- based off the tone from the Fireball 25. Blows away the savage, fb25, 530 preamp and the 570 preamp. The power section of the 100 has got something special going on. Not to mention the bottom switch makes it the most low end ever heard from an engl. After 6 Engls the Fireball 100 stays to slay.

You're one of the few youtubers that plays a real head into a real cab, please keep it that way, IRs are nice but hey, we also need to hear the real sound of a cab 🤘

I dont think you will get the difference really much… Good thing about irs is that they are will be same no matter what, and real cab… You wont get really same sound, u always get a bit different at least because u using different mic position. Best variant is use reactive load with ir and speaker connected to load. So you will get same response as you will get in real cab, bc you got power amp section included in sound, with same impedance as you using real cab, but it wont be loud and easy to record, bc u got ir’ed signal out of it

Death, black, thrash, core and power! Just dial it to your prefered setting!
Gain in tons, and more saturation than you need!

Absolutely love the Engl Fireball 100. It's just the ultimate metal beast of tone! This amp, if I'm not mistaken, was used by Loomis in Nevermore. That was when I really took a liking to seven string composition. It has that "magic" about it that just works incredibly well for down-tuned guitar. Great job on showcasing that Kyle. And really, great job on all your Engl demos. Cheers brother!

I'm sold on this one. I have been looking for a high gain amp to use in my old school deathmetal band. Going back and forth between the Peavey 6505, EVH 5150 3 Stealth and an Engl Fireball 100. They all sound great but the one that I'm always impressed with no matter who is demoing it is the Engl Fireball 100, I like it more than the other Engl amps as well, even the ones that twice as expensive.

Thank you Kyle! I used to put a kraken preamp in mine, but now I tend to like the Engl as much. I put the gain slightly under 9 o'clock and midrange button in as well as midrange almost dimed. And also h.o.f reverb, tc electronic spark booster. Got super close Pretty Maids "Red hot and Heavy" tone as I'm 50+. I'm also putting treble on 3 o'clock as I always done.

    • @Tatted-ne7tu

@@Tatted-ne7tuIn the loop and also the spark in the loop. But now I found that my boss sd-1 in the front and skipping the spark is better. I also like to ad that dimed gain on the clean and boss-sd 1 with gain on 9 o'clock gave a close enough Dokken "Back for the attack" tone, if you like that kind of old good hair metal 😊

I had the fireball 60 mark I with powerball II side by side with one cabinet and tube switcher. I got the same sound (with different settings of course) from them. I’m still feeling that second amp you threw down but I think I may have to watch the videos back to back to decide who’s the better of the two. Now I definitely feel like this just does that thing for the metal thrash tones really well but I do like an a,p that can do a couple of tricks really well. I guess that the Fireball would suit your style more than the Powerball does, the latter is better suited for lower tunings (like I use and I tried the Powerball so I know). Ever checked out the Invader? You might love it as well. Perhaps it's easier to come across these amps here in Europe because they are way cheaper than in the other side of the Atlantic.

That’s because internet rumours are anti-intellectual cancer. People fall for certain hearsay or misunderstandings and then spread it around in a game of telephone.
The real issue was with the very first iteration of the Powerball 1. Its midvoicing was a bit off and supposedly had weaker transformers. Made it lack volume and presence against other high gain amps in comparable settings. The Fireball 60 had a similar shortfall. All of this was addressed for the most part with the second version of the Powerball I, and refined even further with the Powerball II and the Fireball 100 where the output was massively improved along with the midrange and that’s without counting the mid boost.

Damn just coined onto these. I thought a Mesa was good this is like a mesa on steroids. Then I've also just found Diezel which is like an Engl on steroids.
    Awesome stuff

Great tone, but twice - had the same issue with two different amp with power tube monitor which after 20 minutes of playing switched off two power tubes - with regret i sent them back to distributor, I am sorry.

Kyle gives the killer...no cleans or filler!!!! Kyle, the Victory Jack V30 MK2 is a hidden gem killer metal amp. I know your not a big Victory guy but this amp owns!!!

I can't help cracking up, it's sort of culture shock to me hearing someone refer to a channel switching amp with individual gain and master volumes for each channel and a 3-band EQ and mid boost switch and presence control as a "stripped down amp." My god, if you could see some of the stuff I have.... I do love me some Modern High Gain, so much so that I capitalize all three words, but I also do a lot of hardcore influenced punk, and on a lot of typical guitar amps, I might completely bypass the EQ section if I could (closest I can get is all three knobs dimed), just to get a very raw overdriven sound. It's still tight, but it isn't sculpted, particularly the midrange sweep of common passive guitar amp equalizers. It's actually really fun finding just the right combination of conditions to create chugging Rhythm sounds on a bare bones amp.

Didn’t hear you mention the Engl Metalmaster. If you haven’t tried it, you should give one a try. Love my 20 watt combo running into a 2x12 or 4x12 cab. Stock speaker doesn’t do it justice in my opinion.

Engl metalmaster is the tightest amp I have ever played, best for fast Thrash metal. voicing is similar to the Powerball 2 and ironball. with only 20W it sounds smaller than a Pb2, but when you put a Sonic stomp in the loop it sound s like a 100 W amp.

There is only one guitar amp better than the fireball 100 and that is the fireball 60 watt. The 100 watt version sounds slightly darker to me while the 60 watt version is brighter. I have pitted my 60 watt fireball against several amps including mesa dual rectifier, peavey 5051, brunetti XL-Revo, Marshall DSL and the fireball has always come out on top. In its price range it is the best metal amp you can find. Too bad it's no longer in production.
