Folks like you need to start getting the word out. The best way to combat this is to double down intensively on an early voting strategy. You just can't afford to wait for folks to be intimidated away from voting on election day proper.

They only have to get away with it ONE TIME. Trump and his followers in the House and Senate need to change our form of government into something that can protect them from what they've already done.
It IS prohibited, at least in my state. No one is allowed to loiter in a polling place unless they are actively voting or have an official poll watcher certificate. And there is a limit to how many watchers there can be and what they are allowed to do within a polling place. Considering how many polling places there are, I don't think the RNC would be able to find enough willing people to cover all of the polling places in even one state, let alone the whole country.

I vote by mail when I can, but I’m thankful for all the poll workers when my vote by mail application doesn’t arrive in time for me to mail it back… So I have to vote in person like I did last cycle. I like the option of both. Having bad health I prefer mail in ballots and I trust them as much as I trust voting in the booth.

In our state, police are not allowed within a certain distance of a polling place unless they are specifically called by the Judge of Election due to a serious incident, or are voting. Police presence historically has been seen as voter intimidation. So at least here you cannot have police at voting booths. Can you imagine in Texas or some southern state, having a cop watching you vote? Police in many places are not concerned with the "safety of the voters." Especially if you are a blue voter.

One way to handle it is to require ID to enter the polling place. I had to do that to early vote here in Georgia's primary last week. You have to show ID to vote anyway, in most places, but showing you are a resident in the precinct on Election Day to get in the door will keep out any "poll watchers", intimidators, etc.
Second, if your area allows early voting, do it. The intimidators can't take off weeks to cover every polling place.

No, the DoJ didn't wait 3-1/2 years to do anything. It took 3-1/2 years to get a case to trial because they had to accumulate and verify a ton of evidence, try and convict some co-conspirators, and grind through all the delaying tactics from Trump's attorneys.

In 2020 I thought about doing Mail-in but I figured the Republicans would have them thrown out(they tried) I decided I would burn a half day vacation to stand in line to make sure my ballot is received, what normally takes less than fifteen minutes took an hour and a half..

Definitely Democrats should organize polling stations watching and protection.
I am European, in my country the first times I voted in the eighties each party (multi party system here) made sure to have a representative at the polling station to make sure voting and counting was done fairly and nobody cheated. Basically they all controlled each other. I haven’t noticed it recently but after many decades democratic procedures have consolidated and there’s no more worry of voting fraud.

Get a local Vets group to do poll organization and watching. It’s worked a few places in the primaries. National security people like Jacob Ware recommend that solution among others. They are also aware and planning for election security. Take a look at this: Council on Foreign Relations: Center for Preventive Action>Preventing U.S. Election Violence in 2024. Still, the best solutions are local.

It can and is being fixed. Don't worry. Remember after January 6, trump just crawled away quietly and we didn't hear anything about him for a year or so. The country began to heal and it will do the same thing after November. He's lost allot of support. Jan 6 and him having a sexual assault judgement lost him support. Not as much as you'd think being a sexual predator but he did lose support. Between his crazyness and the freaks in Congress, Americans don't want more of that. Most people on both sides are more centered, leaning one way or another. Most people on both sides just want to make a decent living, raise their kids and have a happy little life. Don't let it eat at you, democracy is stronger than trump and a few crazies. We'll be ok.

Living in Florida the threat of violence is the stuff of nightmares. It is very scary that people think I am being silly and the threat is not credible. It will not stop me from voting.

I don't understand the hype that Florida is so damn violence oriented. I've lived here for 67 years . And haven't seen anything more violent here than any other state. Sure, Desantrump is acting like an authoritarian Governor. But as a voter, I see plenty of voting options offered every time there is an election . As of yet, I haven't seen any poll issues that would hinder voting. Not yet anyway. But now with knee issues, I vote by mail. And, there are ways to check your ballot after it's sent in. Anyway, we need to stop making Florida seem like such a hateful state. Between that and constantly hearing how stupid, Floridians are, sucks.

The biggest thing that kills me is that someone in prison can not vote, but can still legally run for office. I really really wish congress would vote to have an independent committee of constitutional scholars radify the constitution to have plain, uninterpretible language.
